Pre-Natal Hypnosis – Another Success Story for Seattle’s Best Hypnotherapy: Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP.

Hypnosis is for everyone, including unborn babies.

Hello, Hypnosis Friends!

Got another fab testimonial (and family photo).  My youngest ever client (2 days before birth) has arrived on the scene.  Mom had a phobia of medical procedures including her scheduled C-Section, and was in a state of high anxiety.  Here’s her report after our work:

“Hi Connie!

I promised I would e-mail to let you know about the baby’s arrival, etc. I wanted to thank you for working with me. I felt pretty darn relaxed about my surgery compared to previous surgeries. I have also found that my recovery has been much quicker and easier this time around. I am so glad we did the NLP and hypnosis to help me prepare.  Thanks again!”

— Kristen, Renton, WA

Yay!  Welcome to the world to my littlest client.  When mom felt better, he got to feel better, too.  A much more calm and joyous entry into this world.

Warm Regards,
Connie

How to Find “The Real Deal?” — Always Check Credentials!

Don’t accept empty promises from scam artists – check credentials.

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

From the layman’s point of view, it must be bewildering to check out all the Seattle hypnosis services and Seattle hypnosis schools listed on the internet.  From personal changework sessions to hypnosis and NLP trainings, how do you know what’s real?

How do you know which hypnotists and institutes are legit (meaning registered or licensed with the state to do business) and beyond that, how do you know if they’re successful, if they have any real credentialing and expertise?

Will you be shelling out your hard-earned bucks on an unskilled person or even an outright flimflam artist who can’t help you achieve your goals, will take your money and waste your time, and quash your dreams of change?  You might.  Unfortunately, they’re out there!

To help you find quality, I’ve written an article.  You can find it HERE on my Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP website.  It’s called:  “How do I find the best hypnotherapist and Neuro Linguistic Programming professional to help me?”

This problem (of fakes doing business), is even bigger than I imagined.  Michael and I recently discovered that a Seattle area hypnosis and NLP training school instructor was mis-representing his credentialing.  He claimed to have achieved a prestigious training status, which he had not.  Lies are not O.K.

As a consumer in this world, you’ve got to CHECK.  There are listings of legitimate businesses and credentialing sources that keep up to date databases.  Check with the State Department of Health, to verify a person’s alleged registration as a hypnotist, and check with the Olympia Workforce Board to verify an alleged school’s licensing as a private vocational school.

The liars are using two main gambits:  claiming that their credentialling source is REAL and recognized, when in fact they’ve just awarded it to themselves, via their handy-dandy 4-in-1 printer in their basement.  Gambit two:  falsely claiming to have an affiliation with true respected training schools that set the standard for excellence.  These frauds claim to have earned prestigious credentialing, when in fact they have not attended those trainings schools and have not been awarded credentials through them.

This is what Michael and I found last week in a Seattle area competitor’s NLP “school.”  He claimed to be what we legitimately are:  “Licensed Trainers of NLP” (registered trademark), through Dr. Richard Bandler.  To coin a phrase:  no way in hell has he achieved that.  Legitimate NLP trainers Licensed through Dr. Bandler (the co-originator of NLP) are listed HERE on the Society of Neuro Linguistic Programming ™ ‘s website.  Michael and I have worked hard for this credential and skill set, Mindworks NLP is real gold.  Don’t accept fool’s gold.

Legitimate credentiallng proves a level of committment, expense undergone and expertise and mastery attained.  You’ve got to evaluate the truth and legitimacy of any alleged credentials.   To verify, feel free to contact those credentialling boards and bodies directly and ask your questions about the hypnotist or school being considered.  Gullibility is what these flimflam artists hope for, don’t give it to them.  When you receive training from one of these dishonest “instructors” you run the risk of getting neither the skill set nor the legitimate credentialing you wanted.

And, as always, the proof of skill is in the pudding.  Who is actually doing the work, and how well?  Whose students are successful?  Proven success always wins out over fakes and fraud.  Please, protect yourself, and discover the REAL power of these modalities for life change by finding “the real deal.”  Unskilled therapists and trainers are not able to deliver successful results.  Michael and I are the real deal.  🙂

Fraud is out there.  Do your homework.  Verify, verify, verify.

Warm Regards,
Connie

How to Improve Your Life – Seattle’s Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP

Find A New Perspective – With Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” – Wayne Dyer.

This is what hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) is all about.  It’s about seeing things in a new, more powerful, and resourceful way.  When you feel happier and stronger and more confident and motivated and so on, it changes how you see a situation, how you think.  And when you see a situation differently, what you are able to DO and ACHIEVE in that situation becomes different.  What was unreachable now becomes  “sure I can!”  What was fearful now becomes “what was the big deal?”  What was “I’m not good enough” becomes “eat my dust.”  What was “I can’t stop” (the behavior) becomes “I hardly remember that problem.”  Doubt becomes confidence.

And, as always, the proof of what I’m saying is in the pudding.  The physical real-world changes our Seattle area hypnosis clients and students enjoy.  Dr. Dyer’s quote is wonderful, but how do you “see things differently?”  That’s where we come in.  That’s the skilled work Michael and I do at Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP.  Through hypnotherapy and NLP Neuro Linguistic Programming, we help you create new patterns of thought that serve your goals.

Society of NLP - Your Guarantee of Quality
Society of NLP – Your Guarantee of Quality

Michael and I are both Licensed Trainers of Neuro Linguistic Programming ™ and that’s truly a big deal, that’s the top of the heap when it comes to legitimate credentialing and skillset to help you.  There are only 30-some individuals in the US who have attained our status, as certified through the originator of NLP and the Society of Neuro-Linguistic Programming ™.

This work is so much fun, and I love it when my clients succeed.  There’s a reason we are “The Best of Bellevue” two years running.  Join us any time when you feel like it’s time to become powerful.  We teach, and we help one on one.  Your mind is powerful and amazing.  Isn’t it time you used more of its full potential?

Claustrophobia Transformed into Freedom – With Neuro Linguistic Programming

Claustrophobia ended – With Mindworks Hypnosis

Claustrophobia is a fear of confined spaces.  It can happen in a variety of places, including airplanes, elevators, cars, etc.  I had a client with all of the above, plus one I had not heard before:  car washes.  Fear is such an unnecessary and easily fixable limitation on living.

Pam of Gig Harbor had a single session with me, and her follow up was immediate.  Yes, changes with hypnotherapy and NLP Neuro Linguistic Programming are immediate, when done right.  Pam felt comfortable enough to get inside that car inside a car wash the day after our session.  She says:

“Hi Connie, I am excited to share and say thank you.  🙂  I went through the car wash yesterday for the first time in ages! …once I entered I was fine and even wondered what was “the big deal?”  Thank you thank you, thank you.  Wishing you an outstanding day!”  — Pam Fox, Gig Harbor, WA.

That’s right.  Now Pam is free to comfortably do all the things she could not before, involving constricted spaces.  Way to go, Pam!

What are you afraid of? When you get tired of being and doing that, let me know. Skilled hypnosis works! Unfortunately, in Washington State there is no credentialing for hypnotherapy services, and any bozo can open up a shingle and “pretend” to do this work. It’s very much a buyer beware market. That’s one of the reasons I share real people with real success: Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP clients.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Negative Health Effects of Obesity in the News Again

http://news.yahoo.com/jerseys-christie-fires-back-doctor-over-weight-comments-020421612.html

This story is interesting to me. Here is another person with “fat denial.” He thinks he’s healthy.  Obese and healthy are mutually incompatible. I’m on the side of the doctor with this one. This reminds me of another recent news article about a 420 pound lady who was proud of her 85 inch hips and thought it was marvelous.

The physician wasn’t making comments on this man’s character traits or lifestyle, she was making comments on the dangers and negative consequences of obesity.  She was also commenting on the danger of taking heaviness lightly.  As she says:  “It’s not a laughing matter.”

I don’t go in for political discussions, however I feel like saying: some people might approve of politicians in power keeling over any moment. I don’t support that as a good idea, or politicians who take unneeded health risks.

Christie talks about his lifelong struggle to lose weight.  What if it weren’t a struggle?  What if there were a way to make it easy and natural to get healthy?

Before and After Hypnosis
Before and After Hypnosis

There is.  It’s called “hypnosis.”  I know whereof I speak!  I know how to lose weight, and if people would notice what hypnosis can do for this issue, they’d see it’s not the “struggle” they think it is.  Check out the picture.  This is me and me.  I’ve maintained a healthier weight for years now.

If you’d like to end your personal struggle with weight and find an easier way, that feels comfortable and natural (no surgeries or drugs involved), click here:  http://www.loseweightseattle.com/ or call me.

Your Brain Before Sleep — That’s Hypnosis, Seattle!

I found this pic on Social Media today.  This cartoon talks about “forgetting,” and I believe that idea as presented is not the whole story.   There is no forgetting.  Let me tell you more about the unconscious mind, how it works, and the power of unconscious ideas to actually “do change.”  I’m going to share what I know to be true with you, Seattle, about hypnosis, my passion!

Even if the conscious (thinking, awake) mind doesn’t remember these “amazing ideas,”  the ideas are still in THERE, and working inside the unconscious (creative, intuitive, power) mind.  They’re active.  They’re not “lost.”  They are beyond conscious awareness, and that’s where they are most potent and useful.  Unconscious ideas move us, to be and do different actions in the world.

This should not be an “Oh, well, disappointment” cartoon, it should be a “Hell, yes, and YAY!!!! Isn’t that terrific?” cartoon.  And when the unconscious mind thinks it is useful, you DO remember consciously.

Here is more information about hypnosis, Seattle!  Yes, those moments before sleep are a hypnotic state of mind.  Myriads of tests have been done to understand and label brainwave patterns, and those moments before sleep are an identical brainwave pattern to hypnosis, called Theta waves.  Every night as you’re falling asleep, you pass through hypnosis.  And every morning when you awake from sleep,  you pass through hypnosis.  This is not some otherworldly unknown, this is our life.  Hypnosis is natural, and we do it everyday.

Here, I have a chart of brainwave patterns, and explanation.  The hypnotic state of mind is between analytical, conscious thinking (Beta) and deep unconscious sleep (Delta).  It’s a natural state in which we drift in and out of throughout each day.

Those creative thoughts, keep them coming, brain. Consciously or unconsciously.  Those moments before sleep are a power state of mind, and the unconscious will take those creative ideas and fly with them and create changes in the life that are wonderful. Who cares what the conscious mind remembers?

Here’s to your positive changes, Seattle!

Warm Regards,
Connie

Stop Hiding the Hypnosis!

Hiding the truth about hypnosis!

Hi, Hypnosis Friends and Enthusiasts!

Hypnosis is a larger field of study and practice than what is generally known.  It’s being used all over the place, and not by “hypnotists.”  There’s more to it, than the world commonly acknowledges.  You know why that is?  People hide the fact that what they’re teaching and doing IS hypnosis.

The word hypnosis has a negative, perjorative, fear-infused connotation in some people’s minds.  Unfortunate, and absolutely ridiculous!  And that generates fear, and hiding on the part of hypnosis sellers.  There are teachers and change workers creating fancy new words and titles and acronyms for the work they are doing.  Hey, buddy ….pssst.  Some of us do know.  It’s all hypnosis.

I attended a training last year on enhanced reading and rapid absorption of information that was absolutely, 100% hypnosis.  They never used the word, in their literature, in their marketing, or in the course itself.  They called it something else, which they had created to hide the fact that it is hypnosis.  They even hawked self-hypnosis CDs which they also called something else.  I asked the instructor:  “Why don’t you call this what it really is?”  He never responded.

I don’t hide my hypnosis.  I am PROUD to be a hypnotist.  I’d rather change the misconceptions in the world rather than try to camoflauge what I do.

What is hypnosis?  It’s communication on deeper levels within our own brain, it’s a doorway to resourcefulness.  To creativity.  To power.  It’s 100% organic and natural, it’s amazing, and lovely, and pure positive goodness.

I wish these practitioners of hypnosis who sell it as something else just in order to get more students and to make more money would stop that.  You’re helping to keep the ridiculous myths alive.  How will the understanding of hypnosis in the world change for the better if you continue to hide it’s power and success?

Stop hiding the hypnosis!

Warm Regards,
Connie (Hypnotist, and proud of that!)

Claustrophobia Ended With Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP

Goodbye to Claustrophobia with Seattle’s best hypnosis.

Hi, Guys!

I love my inbox.  It’s filled daily with happy stories, the kind that make me smile.  🙂  Today’s happy story is Diana of Bellevue, WA.  She came to me with severe claustrophobia.  Her anxiety happened in planes, elevators, cars, anywhere she felt confined.  That’s over, now.

“Thanks a bunch for all that you’ve done for me. I’m so impressed with your skills and am fascinated by NLP and hypnosis. Both topics are very much outside the realm of what I know, but are amazing in their ability (in talented hands) to deliver such positive change in a person’s life.”  — Diana, Bellevue, WA.

Her life has opened up, now.  Good job, Diana!  Good feelings, where there used to be fear and anxiety.  And the freedom to live a more full life.

That’s the power of skilled Neuro Linguistic Hypnotherapy™.  And the best place to find that in the Seattle area?  Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP.  I’m a Licensed Trainer of NLP® and that means I’m the best in Seattle and in fact, in this part of the country.  Dr. Bandler (co-originator of NLP) has 31 Licensed Trainers of Neuro-Linguistic Programming® in the entirety of the US, that’s all.  Licensed Trainers are the top of the hierarchy in training and skillset.  I’m one.  Michael is another.  That means, we’re good.

January 21 is “Blue Monday”… or is it?

How would you rather feel?

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

The internet has cheerfully informed me that today is “Blue Monday, the Most
Depressing Day of the Year” and that I’m supposed to be feeling miserably unhappy and depressed right now.

I’m informed that I have all sorts of reasons to feel bad:  dark short days, holiday debt, cold weather, New Year’s Resolutions that are falling apart.

Too bad so sad, sad ain’t happening.  Not in my body and in my day.

What a lot of “presuppositions.”   That’s hypnosis jargon for things someone else thinks are true, that  aren’t necessarily true.  What if I like cold weather?  What if my healthy resolutions are going strong in full force?  What if I manage my money well, and have no “holiday debt?”  In my case, they are ridiculously false.  And the projected outcome of depression is even more ridiculously false.  Even if all those things were true, it doesn’t follow that I should feel bad.  What if those negative events just strengthened my resolve to change?

How am I coping with “Blue Monday?”  I feel GREAT!!! 🙂 It’s a beautiful day.  My belief:  We choose how we feel, always.  And we can implement desired feelings at will.  That’s hypnosis and NLP.  If you’re feeling “blue” and want to feel better, a skilled Neuro Linguistic Programmer can bring some rosy sparkle into your day and the blue can fade out fast.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Seattle Hypnosis Success Story: After 20 Years of Trying, Cal Quit Smoking with Mindworks Hypnosis!

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

More evidence in support of skilled hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) as a tool for life success.  Cal Ihler, here, quit smoking.  He had been trying unsuccessfully to end smoking for 20 years, meeting only with disappointment, with “hardship and stress.”

That’s as dead as the smoking habit, after working with us.  🙂  Cal reports that his new state is joy and happiness and the satisfaction of doing what he wants to do.  Hear it in his own words!

Yay, Cal!  Two months without cigarettes, soon to be 2 years, then 20 years, then his entire life as a nonsmoker.  The smoking habit will be a dim memory, lost in the mists of antiquity.

If you’re ready to REALLY get down and dirty and say “hell no” to cigarettes, well, these tools work.  Some people quit in a single session, and the change comes like “boom!!”  Instantaneous transformation.  Walk in a smoker, walk out, a nonsmoker.  Check out the testimonials here which support that.  Some people, like Cal here, take a couple or three sessions for success as the mind processes the changes at a rate of speed that is comfortable.

Bottom line:  change happens.  Success happens.

When you’re ready to quit smoking, and to enter a state like Cal describes:  successful and joy-filled and happy, call us!  🙂

Warm Regards,
Connie

NLP: Drive Your Own Bus

How would you rather feel?

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

You don’t have to be a master of calibration skills to notice that one of these twins is having a bad moment.  The “why” is irrelevant, what is very important to notice here is the WHAT.  Two twins, sitting together, one happy as a clam, the other in a very horrifically unhappy state.

What may not be apparent to you about each twin’s response:  It’s learned, and it’s a choice.

How a person responds to a moment of life or a situation is absolutely a choice.  The same exact circumstance can trigger any gamut of emotion and response from agony to ecstacy.

One person might see a snake and jump and scream and run, another person might see that snake and stare in fascination and wonder, another might pick it up and make it into a beloved pet.  One person might be stuck in a traffic snarl and put on a music CD and sing along, one car over a person in the same traffic snarl might grab a baseball bat and vent some road rage.

The stories and experiences of our life generate unconscious patterns of response.  And we can notice those patterns, and change them at will.  We can install new, more useful and desired unconscious patterns and responses in ourselves.  That’s NLP.   Neuro-Linguistic Programming.  New emotions and ideas that lead to new behaviors, and new beliefs, and vice versa.  And all of it leads to a life that we want, that we choose.  Success.

Dr. Richard Bandler, the co-originator of NLP, calls this work learning “to drive your own bus.”  Absolutely.  And part of that drive is:  “How do you want to feel?”  Choose something wonderful and useful for the situation.

The difficulty is finding or acquiring the NLP skill set that makes this happen.  Here in Seattle, you have two options.  You can find a skilled and licensed practitioner of NLP who will make short work of your unhappy and limiting beliefs and unwanted behaviors (like me:  http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net/), or you can learn NLP yourself from legitimate sources (like me:  http://www.seattlenlptraining.com/) and use the tools for your own life success.  I am a Licensed Trainer of Neuro-Linguistic Programming® and this is my passion.  Unlocking choice for people.

Call me anytime to find out more!  (425) 564-8608.

Warm Regards,

Stop Smoking, Seattle!

Stop Smoking, Seattle!  It’s good advice.  It’s also a website:  http://www.stopsmokingseattle.com/.  I have several websites that I’ve created, and this site is about hypnosis for smoking cessation.

Here’s an advertising video for my site:

On my many websites, I like to highlight the different things hypnosis is good for.  Short answer:  pretty much EVERYTHING.  Michael likes to say:  “If the brain is involved, hypnosis helps.”  Yes.

http://www.stopsmokingseattle.com has lots of good information about studies on hypnotic success with quit smoking.  Kind of like a battle royale, and hypnosis wins!  Hypnosis is more effective than other stop smoking tools:  nicotine gum, the patch, drugs, herbal remedies, acupuncture, and so on.  I also talk about all the chemicals that are in cigarettes, and how your body has the capacity to heal itself from the effects of cigarettes and the time frames involved.  It’s interesting stuff.

And primary, of course, on my hypnosis for stop smoking website, is the PROOF.  Seattle area people I’ve helped using hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) who agreed to let me share their success stories.  Actually, there are many providers of hypnosis in Seattle, with varying skill sets.  My advice:  Go for quality!  Go for proven success.  That’s me and Michael and our passion:  Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP.  It’s the best in Seattle hypnotherapy services.

If you yourself are interested in dumping tobacco use, or know someone who is, direct them to my website.  More people should know that skilled hypnosis is the best tool to stop smoking, and stay stopped.

Warm Regards,
Connie

What a Bendy Straw Knows and You Can Learn

Flexibility for the Win!

Everyone’s talking about “New  Year’s Resolutions.” But how do we actually create newness and change?

With  hypnosis and NLP, you can change how you think, and how you feel about things.  You can change how you see things, and even what you believe to be true.

And, all this leads to what’s really important: you can change your behaviors, change what you do in the  world. And what you don’t do.

I have a favorite quote from comedian, George Carlin. He’s talking about words and the perplexity of words.  We have words to describe burnability: something is flammable, something is nonflammable, or something is inflammable. Carlin says, why three choices?  “Either the thing flams or it doesn’t!”

That’s funny. That’s also called digital thinking. Yes, no, on off. When you change to thinking along a continuum, you open up an infinity of new choices. More choices, equals more flexibility, equals more success. In short, hypnosis finds and gives you more choice.

There’s an expression in NLP: “the one with the most flexibility wins.” Behavioral flexibility is the holy grail. It’s what we want and seek for our clients and ourselves. If you’re not flexible, you’re rigid, stiff, always doing what you’ve always done. You’re stuck! Lao Tzu (ancient philosopher) said: “Bend like a reed in the wind – that is the real strength.  The old hard tree breaks and falls when the wind blows.  The young tree bends and does not break.”  Hypnosis opens up unstuck, also called choice, also called flexibility.

Here’s a real world example. I had a client yesterday who gravely informed me that he’s an “addict” to cigarettes. Now, that’s a STUCK statement. He’s trapped! He’s done. Put him in his coffin. An addict can’t quit smoking, by definition. We used hypnosis & NLP to change how he sees himself, and when the label “addict” left, so did a restriction on his choices.

In one piece of our work, we asked the creative unconscious mind to come up with completely healthy alternative behaviors to replace smoking. The unconscious can do that in a heartbeat, and did. Now, there are many new options available to him,  behaviorally. And we enticed his mind to put those new choices into action. This pulled the rug out from under being “addicted” to smoking. Now he has the freedom to say “no way in hell” to cigarettes. And he did. We created a new nonsmoker yesterday.

If you’re stuck in a behavior, in a habit, a pattern, a way of thinking, feeling, or being that does not serve you…there are more choices than you can currently see. Hypnosis can open up that trap, let you out of the cage and into the sunlight of infinite  resourcefulness.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Another Happy Camper: Seattle Client Reports Success with Mindworks Hypnosis

Hypnosis for Life Success, that’s Seattle’s Best: Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP.

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

I have a piece of paper in my office, and it’s been there since day one and my first client.  It says:  “You can change the world.”  It sits by a wooden block of letters spelling out the word:  BELIEVE.  Believe you can change the world.  Yes, I do hold that belief.

How do I know?  I get feedback from flesh and blood clients reporting life improvements from our work.  🙂  Here is another report just in from a Seattle man who came in for hypnosis, who wanted my help with business success.  He got what he came for.  And he expressed his gratitude in an email I received today.

“Hi Connie, Happy New Year to you!!! I feel really great, empowered, optimistic, and full of life. You were able to unlock the patterns that I had created for myself holding me back. Thank you. I will most definitely keep you in mind for myself and anyone I know that may need some help. May this be your best year yet. It’s going to be mine 🙂 B. D., Seattle, WA.”

Yay, B.D.  You go, boy!

I take my job, which is also my passion, very seriously.  And I am dedicated to doing what that piece of paper reminds me every day.  “Believe you can change the world.”  I do and I am, by helping improve lives, one mind at a time.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Know Thy Enemy – the Little Discussed Other Problems Caused by Overweight

Hypnosis Helps with Weight Loss

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

Just in time for New Year’s Resolutions, obesity is in the news!  In short, more about what we all know:  it’s not healthy to be carrying around all this extra poundage on the body.  If you are struggling with this issue, perhaps you are blinding yourself to HOW unhealthy.  It’s a killer.

Here’s an interesting article from the Associated Press today, expressing how ignorant the general public is about the health risks of overweight.  See below.

What they aren’t saying, and SHOULD be headline news, is the fact that hypnosis is a fantabulous way to address overweight.  A REAL solution.  A lasting help.  Not ridiculous crap like bariatric surgeries.  We don’t want to get me started on that idiocy again… I’ve already shared my opinions about that here in the blog.

Here’s the article from the AP:

“Few Americans know all the risks of obesity  – by LAURAN NEERGAARD and JENNIFER AGIESTA |

WASHINGTON (AP) — Heart disease and diabetes get all the attention, but what about the many other ways obesity can damage your health?

Carrying too many pounds may lead to or worsen some types of cancer, arthritis, sleep apnea, even infertility. But a new poll suggests few Americans realize the links.

Only about one-quarter of people think it’s possible for someone to be very overweight and still be healthy, according to the poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

Ask about the most serious consequences, and more than 7 in 10 Americans can correctly tick off heart disease and diabetes. Heart disease is the nation’s leading killer, and diabetes and obesity are twin epidemics.

The other consequences aren’t so well known.

“People are often shocked to hear how far-reaching the effects of obesity are,” said Jennifer Dimitriou, a dietitian at New York’s Montefiore Medical Center.

Just 7 percent of people surveyed mentioned cancer, although doctors long have known that fat increases the risk of developing cancers of the colon, breast, prostate, uterus and certain other sites. Plus, being overweight can make it harder to spot tumors early and to treat them.

Then there’s the toll on your joints, especially the knees. About 15 percent of people knew obesity can contribute to arthritis.

High blood pressure, high cholesterol and strokes were fairly low on the list. Infertility didn’t get a mention.

Also, 5 percent put respiratory problems on the list. Studies show people who are overweight are at increased risk of sleep apnea and asthma, and that dropping pounds can help improve their symptoms.

Knowing more about the myriad ways obesity affects health could help motivate people to get more active and eat better before full-blown disease strikes, Dimitriou said.”

Bellevue College Continuing Education Says Thank You for Hypnosis!

Hi, Guys!

I got something very nice in the mail yesterday.  A certificate of appreciation from Bellevue College for my “teaching and community engagement” for my hypnosis courses and hypnosis work.  🙂  VERY nice.  I’ve framed it and it will go up on the “I love me” wall at my office with the other trainings, certifications, diplomas, and awards I have received.

Bellevue College says "thank you" for hypnosis courses.
Bellevue College says "thank you" for hypnosis courses.

This certificate was sent to me in conjunction with Governor Gregoire’s newly proclaimed Part-time Faculty Appreciation Day for the State of Washington.  Yay!  It’s nice to be appreciated.

My next go-round at Bellevue College starts next month.  I’m offering two courses this quarter, one on Healthy Hypnosis, Let Go of Weight in March, and A Chance To Trance:  Discover Hypnosis for Goal Achievement in February.

It’s fun to share what I love.

Seattle rain got you feeling SAD? Hypnosis helps.

I was born in Seattle, and I happen to LOVE the rain.   And rainy winters.  When I lived in Arizona I felt like a fish out of water, too much sunshine for me.  Not everyone shares my enthusiasm for Seattle’s climate, however.  Some people find dark, endlessly drizzly days depressing.  They’ve even given it a fancy name:  Seasonal Affective Disorder.  SAD.

If you find yourself sad or otherwise negatively affected by Seattle’s rainy winter, I can help.  I have tools to help you change your neurology (how you feel), which changes how you act.  Better feelings!  Hypnosis, it’s sunrise in a bottle, pink, and bright, and full of promise.  Newness and freshness.  If you’re tired of sad, we can change that.  Faster than you imagine.

Call me and you’ll be laughing in the rain.  I believe they made a song like that.  🙂  What’s useful about feeling better?  Everything.  When you change how you feel you change what you think, and what you can and do accomplish.

I offer a free consult to help you learn more about hypnosis as a powerful tool for personal change.  Call me!  (425) 564-8608.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Seattle Hypnosis in the News!

Find what you’re looking for, with the best in Seattle hypnosis: Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP

There’s an article in the news today about forensic hypnosis in Seattle.  In a legal proceeding, a defendant will have hypnosis to retrieve information he cannot consciously access.

Per the L.A. Times:  “SEATTLE — A military judge has ruled that defense examiners can utilize hypnosis to help Army Sgt. John Russell penetrate the haze of amnesia”…regarding alleged criminal actions.

What I see as positive about this statement is the acknowledgement of the utility and power of hypnosis for memory enhancement and information retrieval.  Yes, it is.  Hypnosis is the real deal in accessing the mind and tapping into its storehouse of information.

I’ve used hypnosis for memory retrieval in my work at Mindworks Hypnosis as well.  These were not involvements with legal issues, but rather personal desires.  Finding things.  Lost, and then found– via hypnosis.  🙂  I’ve helped people recover lost items that they put somewhere then forgot where.  Consciously, it’s lost, yet the information remains in the mind, in the unconscious.

We found it.  Variously, for clients in Seattle, I’ve used hypnosis to recover a lost photo album, lost jewelry, lost money, lost deeds and legal documents, lost savings bonds, and also a lost rebate check  (that last mentioned mind-memory work was actually for me, it was a Costco rebate check for over $300).  I had NO idea where it might be, and yet I did remember it said on the check:  will not be replaced if lost or stolen.  Michael hypnotized me, and soon thereafter, I went straight to the check and retrieved it.

I told that story here:

https://mindworkshypnosis.net/hypnotizer/2010/12/thank-you-unconscious-mind-or-the-story-of-the-lost-costco-rebaterewards-check/

Yes, Seattle, hypnosis works!  For so many things.  Information retrieval is one of them.  I’m happy to see hypnosis recognized as a valuable tool by our legal system, because, yes, it is!

Connie

Do the Healthy Changes from Hypnosis Last? Ask Kristen!

Pop the Cola Addiction, with Mindworks Hypnosis!

One of the concerns and worries often expressed by potential clients is the question:  Do the changes last?  If we end the habit (or the fear, or the urge or what have you) will it stay gone long term?  YES!!!  Once you upgrade the program in your mind, it stays upgraded, unless you change it again.

Here’s more evidence.  Kristen Oulten of Renton, WA came in for help with a cola addiction.  That was MONTHS ago.  Here’s her current report:

“Hello again Connie, Well, it’s December and I haven’t had any Coke or Pepsi since my session with you last February (woo hoo!).   My first experience with hypnosis and NLP was a success! Thank you!”

 — Kristen Oulton, Renton, WA

Yay, Kristen!

I know it works myself.  As I’ve often spoken about, I had a SEVERE spider phobia for most of my life–we’re talking decades.  In one brief NLP session, fear and panic was changed to calm and clear-minded.  And it’s been six years now.  Six years and the calm is still in place.  NLP works!  Hypnosis works.

Find out for yourself.  I know it’s a leap of faith to believe change can happen so easily and permanently.  Hypnosis when skillfully wielded (that’s the clincher–based on the skill set of the hypnotist helper) is AMAZING.  I like to share outcomes that people have experienced with me and my work.  Because I love hypnosis and I know its power and I’m good at it.

Someone told me, you know, people don’t usually talk that way.  Confident, she meant.  Yes, I’m confident.  I know what I know and the proof is in the pudding.  Kristen, above, is more pudding.

I hope you’re all having some happy holidays, and when you’re ready to see some positive changes in your life, well, we can do it!

Warm Regards,
Connie

Now is Better than New Years for your Healthy Resolutions!

It’s time for change!

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

Why wait for New Year’s to begin making your life better?  Now is good.

The idea has been presented to us:  “New Year’s Resolutions” begin on January 1st.  So, I’m going to eat that pumpkin pie right now, and start my diet later!!  Well, January 1st is an arbitrary marker–life is day to day and today is just as important and you are just as important in your life today and tomorrow and the next day as you are on January 1st.

This is a fantastic time to start that new food and fitness plan.  Right now!  Why not get past the holiday tables and feasting with a healthy mindset that leads to lean instead of December weight gain?  Wouldn’t that put you WAYYYY ahead of the curve come January 1st?

Hypnosis works for weight management.  And motivation to exercise.  And quitting smoking, and releasing stress, and the oomph to begin new projects, and so much more to improve the quality of your life in so many ways.  Discover it!  It’s your mind, harnessing your inner resources and power, to move you in any direction you want.  That’s hypnosis!  It’s super cool, and it’s for everyone.

If you’re ready to begin the journey to healthy changes, I’m ready to help.  Call me at (425) 564-8608 and we’ll get going.  Now is good!

Warm Regards,
Connie

How Do You Draw A Rabbit?

Creativity through Hypnosis

When I was six years old, in my first grade class, we were doing an art project.  They asked us to draw a rabbit.  Now, we didn’t have a live rabbit to look at, so they taped a photograph of a rabbit to the front board.  We sat with our crayons and went at it!

Something different happened during that art project, which I noticed at the time but didn’t understand.  I drew that rabbit perfectly.  REALLY, really well.  As I was drawing, I was looking at the photo at the front of the room, and concentrating.   Really concentrating.  Inner focused concentration, connecting with the photo and following the curves.

When we were done, I was astonished at how perfect my rabbit drawing looked.  Amazingly life-like.  The teacher was walking around the room, looking at our work and made a big fuss over my rabbit, complimenting me.  She held it up it to the entire class, and asked me if she could keep it as an example of good work for future classes.

I let her, which I’m sort of regretful about, because I wish I could look at that rabbit drawing again right now!  (Actually, I could see it again, using hypnotic regression, but that’s another story for another time.)

All well and good, the teacher kept my picture.  Now, here’s the interesting part of the story.  A string of students then came up to me afterwards asking “show me how to draw a rabbit.”   Apparently, I was now the rabbit-drawing-expert.  And I couldn’t do it.

I remember taking a piece of paper and CONSCIOUSLY trying to replicate my rabbit for the first kid in line.  No way.  It was a pathetic squiggle.  And the student took it, and walked away looking like he held a treasure.

I drew more pictures for my fellow students, and they were nothing like a rabbit, non realistic and just bad caricatures.

I understand this scenario now.  I used self hypnosis to draw the rabbit.  Like that book, “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain,” I tapped into my unconscious mind, my creative mind power using a focused attention.  I had no idea what I was doing at the time, however I did recognize that I had a different state of mind while drawing my rabbit initially, and when asked to show how.  No way could I just “draw a rabbit” quickly on command.  That activity involved my six year old conscious mind.

Our conscious minds are linear, logical, limited.  We can and do astonish ourselves with our own abilities when we utilize our creative mind.  Not just a tiny part of our mind.  That’s hypnosis–a doorway into more power!  Who knew?  I was already a hypnotist in first grade!  🙂

Warm Regards,
Connie

Why did Michael Buy this Book? — The Power of Unconscious Communications.

Unconscious Communications
Non conscious communications in action!

Hi, Hypno-Friends.

This is a funny story.  Yesterday, Michael and I were browsing books in Barnes & Noble Bookstore.  Michael grabbed a book off the shelf, looked at it for a moment and informed me he was buying it.  It was another book on unconscious communications.   We have a LOT of those books at home.  I asked him:  “Does it look good?”  He said:  “Yes!  I’m buying it.  There’s something about it, I noticed it right away.”  I said:  “Perhaps it’s that brilliant green cover.”  🙂

So, we browse more, and eventually end up at the checkout register.

As the book is sitting on the counter, I notice that there are some words on the cover that I had not seen before, secret words:  “Hey, there, Sexy!  Yes, you.  Buy this book now.  You know you want it!”  The words are invisible unless the book catches the light just so, and then creates a momentary silvery shine based on a difference in paper surface.  We laughed uproariously.

Looking further, we also noticed that along the spine were the secret words:  BUY, BUY, BUY, and on the back in HUGE letters BUY, BUY, BUY and also on the inside jacket flaps.  I asked Michael if he had noticed the words while looking at the book.  Nope!   But of course, he had!  With his UNconscious mind.  The unconscious notices everything–taking in billions of pieces of information in any given moment.

Too funny!  🙂  The proof is in the behaviors.   This purchase supports the premise of the book itself — unconscious communications affect our choices.  Michael wanted the book, and bought the book!  Why?  Was it just his innate interest in the topic?  Or did those invisible words add a motivational pull?  I think both.

This drives home the idea that drives my work.  Unconscious communications (things we are not aware of) have massive power over us.  This is my realm, this is my playground, to notice and change these things, and create more behavioral choices for people.

I’m reading this book that Michael bought, too.  Will take me all of five minutes.  But that’s another story–Michael and I are just now returning from a multi-day training on hypnotic reading.  Absorbing massive amounts of written information quickly using self hypnosis.  🙂

Think for a moment about what you don’t notice.  It’s noticing you.  And moving you.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Good Feelings – Good Decisions

Give guilt the heave-ho, with hypnosis.

You know, “Dear Abby” died.  And that’s a sad thing.  I grew up reading her advice column, and it was always pretty sound common sense type answers for all of life’s dilemmas.  I loved Dear Abby.  Her daughter has now taken over the pen name, and is writing that same advice column.  However, she is NO Dear Abby.

I was reading the column today, and her advice was wayyyyy off the mark.  Bad advice.  Stupid advice.

She was promoting GUILT.  A woman wrote in about her massive guilt over past relationship mistakes, and the answer was: “You appear to be carrying a large burden of guilt. And that’s a good thing.”

In polite parlance, I beg to differ.  What really went through my mind in reading that answer:  “Puritanical bullshit nonsense!”

I help clients release guilt all the time. It’s one of those corrosive, self destructive emotions that doesn’t need to hang on for years, decades, life times. We let that go.  We grab onto the learning and wisdom from the past experiences (so we don’t repeat the mistakes), and move on in a new direction with new better feelings and concomitant new better choices and behaviors.

As my teacher, Dr. Richard Bandler, says:  “Good feelings, good decisions.  Bad feelings, bad decisions.”  Right on, Richard!  I agree wholeheartedly!

Holding guilt would lead to more guilt-inducing behaviors.  Bad, bad advice, Dear Abby 2nd generation.  I miss your mom and her common sense.

Another wisdom I’ve learned from my many teachers:  “What you focus on expands.”  When you focus your mind backwards and wrap yourself tighter and tighter into mistakes and the negative emotions there, that does not create positive change.  That creates more mistakes and more negative emotion.  When you focus somewhere else, you get something else.  That’s what hypnosis helps with:  a new focus.  And new feelings.  And new choices that lead to happy and successful and healthy.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Hypnosis is “The Best Gift I Ever Gave Myself!” Goodbye to 25+ Years of “Depression” & Drinking

Hypnosis: the best gift ever!

Hi, Hypnosis Blog Readers:  Here’s another happy client reporting on happy life changes:

“Initially I went to Connie feeling like I needed help with drinking too much alcohol and smoking. I was kind of skeptical because of what I had heard others say in the past about hypnosis but after meeting Connie on our consultation I felt like I would like to try it anyway.

I knew that self-esteem and confidence was the real issue all my life, but Prozac can only do so much for you…I’ve had 25+ years of depression and eating issues and drinking issues. After working with Connie for 4 sessions I say proudly that I actually have that self-confidence and motivation to take charge and make changes in my life.  It was the best gift I ever gave myself!

I recommend Connie to anyone struggling with similar issues that they want help with, she is very skilled and she personalizes things to work best for you.”

Anonymous, Renton, WA.

I’ll say it again.  When you change your mind, you change your life.  Bravo to “A” of Renton, WA.  “A” is taking control of life.  And that’s a good thing!  Goodbye to 25+ years of “depression” and unhealthy drinking behaviors.  Hypnosis works!

Success Can Last

SUCCESS!  Great word, fabulous idea.  Seeing the word in print should spur positive feelings, should it not?

I saw a picture the other day.  A beach, with “success” scratched in the sand near the surf’s edge.  A friend shared this on Facebook, as an inspirational thing.  No, it isn’t!  I delve daily into the world of unconscious communications.  I find and study (and change when useful) what is being communicated under the surface, which absolutely does affect us.  A facet of my job is that I have trained myself to look for and listen in particular for “limiting beliefs,” ideas which stop us from success.

This picture has a very limiting belief embedded within.  It’s an unconscous communication, and it’s quite negative.

Imagine this picture.  The tide is out, and the sand is fairly dry but still moist.  What’s about to happen?  Soon, that word will be washed away, vanish, be obliterated.  You know it’s going to happen, it’s a function of the location of the word and the ephemeral manner in which it is written in the sand and the inevitability of the tide.  Messages in the sand do not remain.  They go away.

“Success does not last.”

NOT a message I like for my unconscious mind!

I’d rather believe success is something we control and keep for as long as we want it.  Not subject to the whims of nature.  I’d rather have a message of empowerment (I create success) rather than disempowerment (you’re going to lose it soon and there’s nothing you can do).

Beliefs are not just ideas.  They are movement operators.  They create action and activity in us.  Or they stop us.  This picture is a stopper!  Something to muse upon!

Warm Regards,
Connie

One and Done! — More Stop Smoking Success with Seattle Area’s Most Powerful Hypnotherapy

Quit Smoking with Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP — John did!

Lots of people want to know:  Does hypnosis work?  Do the positive changes last?  Yes, and yes!  Here is a another testimonial of success for Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP.

John M. of Seattle came into my office in July and had a single session of Neuro-Linguistic Hypnotherapy ™.  At that time, he felt so sure he was done with smoking, he literally crushed the cigarettes he had.  Smooshed the pack in his fist.  That was his last pack.  We documented it:

John crushed the smoking habit!

Now, three months later, I have John’s follow up report.  It’s good news:

“Hi Connie,

It was definitely a pleasure meeting you! Since our meeting, I have not had any cravings nor desires to smoke! I feel much better and my blood pressure is down significantly. I also have been eating healthier and started to work out!

I definitely will send any friends over to you. Thank you for helping me!”

     — John M. of Seattle, Washington

Yes, it lasts.  The positive changes last.  For John, it’s three months now–WITHOUT CRAVINGS.  When you upgrade a program (new way of thinking and feeling) in your mind, it stays upgraded.  And your behaviors in the world change.  There’s no going back to cigarettes for John.  Why would he?  He’s a nonsmoker!!   That’s how he sees himself, and that’s who he is.  A healthy person taking care of himself.  Yay, John!

If you need to dump the tobacco habit, well, it’s so much easier than you think.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Goodbye Depression, Unwanted Pounds & Negative Emotional Responses — With Mindworks Hypnosis

More Success with Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP

Hello, Hypno-Friends!

Change doesn’t happen in a vacuum.  It happens in a LIFE.  And any particular aspect of life has fingers that stretch, and touch, and intertwine into all aspects of life.  In short, when one positive change happens, more positive changes happen in other areas, it just tends to roll that way!

Ask Karel Creason of Bellevue, WA.  She’s had life improvements all across the board through her Neuro-Linguistic Hypnotherapy sessions with me.  “Depression.”  Excess weight.  Negative emotional responses to situations.  GONE!  I got her success report today:

“Hello, Connie,

I want to give you an update on the changes in my life since I saw you in February 2012.

I have continued to benefit from my freedom from depression.

I have been able to pursue and complete a good, healthy diet program that allowed me to lose 21 pounds…Without your help, I would still not have been able to get on this particular bandwagon.  Thank you so much.

I also have been able to handle a number of emotionally difficult situations which, in the past, would have had me reeling. What a great improvement. I no longer become paralyzed with grief, fear, or anger when I learn of family illness, marital problems, self-esteem issues, etc.

These changes are because you told my subconscious what to do to make me live the way I want to. I have always held to your phrase that if something I think or believe isn’t useful in my life, get rid of it. What a concept!

In addition to letting you know how I’m doing myself, I wanted to let you know that I referred 2 of my friends to you, and they both have reported great happiness with what you did for them.”

     — Karel Creason, Bellevue, WA”

Yay, Karel!  Here’s another unconscious mind that deserves a series of hi-fives!!

Warm Regards,
Connie

PS:  Remember, your life can change, too, whenever you’re ready to make it happen.  Call me.  Karel’s is not an unusual result. You know on those ridiculous “take my diet pill” weight loss ads they have small print which says:  “results not typical.”  Well, with my brand of Neuro-Linguistic Hypnotherapy, results like Karel’s ARE typical.  Check out the many testimonials I’ve earned at http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net.

Hypnotherapy for Life Success – Another Testimonial for Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP of Seattle

Need a new life direction?  It’s easier than you think!  Here is another testimonial of success from the Seattle area for Connie Brannan’s work & Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP.  Here’s what Brian Dawson reports after 3 sessions, just a few hours of hypnosis and neuro linguistic programming with Connie.

“Good morning Connie,

I thought I would give you a quick update. I feel great, refreshed, and full of life. I really want to thank you for the sessions, it was truly mind changing. You moved me back into my life’s direction. I really don’t get frustrated or angry at myself anymore mainly due to a positive direction in my own self talk. You are an artist of a person’s mind and soul. I am sure that I will utilize you in the future and won’t hesitate to call when the need arises.

Thank you!!!”

-Brian Dawson, Woodinville, WA

Woo hoo!  Yay, Brian.  If you live in the Seattle area or beyond, why not seek out the most skilled and successful helper you can find?  Don’t settle for maybe or mediocrity, go for quality.  Go for artistry.  That’s me and Michael.  We are Licensed Trainers of NLP (registered trademark), and we have a higher level of hypnotic success expertise than anyone else in the Pacific Northwest.  And…we love what we do.

Hypnosis is not a can of peas

Best Seattle hypnosis & NLP servicesHi, there, Hypno-Friends!

I got a lovely client update this morning, that I will be adding to the testimonial pile on the website shortly.   I helped a man dump anxiety, anger, and feelings of low self worth.  He wrote to me that he feels “great, refreshed, full of life.”

He goes on to say to me:  “You are an artist of a person’s mind and soul.”

That email made my morning!

The keyword here is artist.  Yes, Hypnotherapy is absolutely an art form.  Today I want to talk about a misunderstanding that’s out there in the world.  An erroneous idea.  Here it is:  “Hypnosis is a can of peas.”

Peas are peas are peas.  When you open one can it’s pretty much identical to the contents of another can in another brand.  They’re green, they’re round, they’re in a liquid.  They taste like canned peas.  You can buy them at QFC, you can buy them at Safeway, you can buy them at a drugstore.  The price might differ by a few pennies.  You can choose the cheapest peas from the nearest store.  It doesn’t much matter.

A lot of people think hypnosis services are like that.  A commodity that’s all the same.  Might as well pick up those services close to home, or find where it’s cheaper.  Here’s my answer to that.  “If you’re looking for successful change, that’s the wrong approach.”

In Washington State, practicing hypnotherapists are required to get registered with the state in order to do business.  Registration.  Pay a fee, get on the list with the State Department of Health.  There is no “credentialing” done.  No requirement of education or skill set.  The state cares not.  Someone could take an online course or read a book, and put out a shingle and say:  “I’m a hypnotist.”  And so they are.  Just not a good one.  Not a skilled or knowledgeable one.  Not an effective one.

The truth is, as my successful client noticed, hypnosis is a creative art.  And people’s artistic skills vary.   Lots of people paint, but their work is not necessarily worthy of hanging in fine galleries.   Hypnosis and change-work skill sets vary as well.  Skill is based on the quality and quantity of training in which they have participated and absorbed information, of course.    Skill is also directly influenced by a person’s individual qualities, traits, personality, and life experience.   Some people are more creative than others.  Some people are just plain smarter than others.  Some people are more passionate to learn and excel and “be the best” than others.  Some people have a powerful, unshakable belief in the power of hypnosis because they’ve lived that success.  Other people get hired by the chain store, have a couple days “training,” and can read a script at a client.  That chain store, called “Positive Changes” went out of business last year.  Why?  Because they approached this work as something to be mechanized and one-size-fits-all, and they failed to be creative, effective and do the good work.

One of my most successful clients (weight loss) came back to me yesterday after about a year.  She still looks beautiful, and has maintained her weight loss, wanted to work on some other things.  She mentioned that she had gone to Seattle and had hired and worked briefly with two other hypnotists in that interim, figuring that there would be other hypnotists out there “as good as Connie” closer to home.   I asked her how that worked out for her.  Obviously, it hadn’t.  She said:  “I’m back.”  Of course you are, if you want success.

Hypnosis is not a can of peas, and every hypnotherapist has a different skill set.  Michael and I are working to upgrade that skill set in our marketplace.  We created our Private Licensed Vocational School:  Mindworks NLP.  We’re teaching local therapists to be better.  http://www.seattlenlptraining.com.  NLP in particular is a conversational, high powered hypnosis, been called “hypnosis on steroids.”  We teach NLP.

I recommend to all potential hypnotherapy clients:  Do your homework.  Ask questions.   Check out any potential hypnotist.  Check out the organizations which they claim certifications from.  Check out their “proof” of success.  Meet them.   Trust your vibe as to finding the real deal, an artist to help you.

Another unconscious mind deserves another High Five!!

Tessa Mercer of Maple Valley, WA has lost 13 pounds in two weeks. Yay! She’s done this after a single (that’s right ONE) session of Mindworks’ blend of hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming expertise.

Watch, listen, and feel free to emulate:

When you focus your mind, magic happens.  Find out for yourself.  The proof of weight loss and other success is in the pudding.  Hypnosis has gotten a “bum rap” in the universe which is so ridiculous and so unwarranted.  It’s you, your mind, your power, your focus on positive changes, that’s what hypnosis is.  Let’s go!

Here’s an announcement and an invitation to an exciting event this Saturday, Sept 29th. Michael and I are presenting a full day’s hypnotic adventure-an EXPERIENTIAL adventure. A self-hypnosis seminar aptly entitled “Self Hypnosis for Life Success.” It’s hands on. Body on. Mind on.

You can learn more here:  http://www.seattlenlptraining.com/Power-of-Mind-Hypnosis-and-NLP-Seminars.html

Our “early bird” special price ends midnight tomorrow. 9/25/12. Sign up now and get this training for $49. Thereafter, it’s $97.

It’s all about hypnosis – the truth, not the myths.

It’s all about hypnosis, experiencing it, and learning more: how the mind works, the mind-body connection, about the language of influence and how to talk effectively to your unconscious mind (and get it to do things you want for yourself), well-formed goals, how to hypnotize yourself on an ongoing basis, a full process for putting it all together for successful life changes!

Whatever your goal(s), weight loss, or motivation, or habit changes, or enhanced learning and creativity, the uses are as limitless as your own mind. Clients come into my office and pay a lot more to learn what I’m offering here for this incredibly low investment. Why? I want the world to know about hypnosis as a force for good and as a tool for self change. I know it! I live it! It’s powerful. It’s natural. It’s the best thing since sliced bread! Here’s why you want to experience this magic live! Imagine describing the taste of chocolate to someone who has never tasted it. Imagine describing making love to someone who has never experienced it. You can read and learn ABOUT bike-riding, but what’s missing is that physical and emotional experience, the surge of exhilaration, the wind in your hair, the motion of moving through space, the balance. You need to experience certain things to really UNDERSTAND them. Hypnosis is like that! Come and experience it this Saturday!

This state of mind is a power, a force for positive change. You’ll walk out of the seminar room on Saturday evening with tools for success. Tool which you can use NOW. Immediately. To feel and be a different person, in ways you choose to become different. A self-enhanced person. You are in control.

It’s a spa for your mind!

Who wants stress release? If for no other reason, come and experience hypnosis for that like-no-other feeling of mental and physical relaxation. When my clients and students emerge from trance, they are “blissed out.” They’re looking at me like “I had no idea. Thank you! Thank you!” Here are some actual client comments about the experience of hypnosis: Gene from Mercer Island: “That was delightful.” Andy from Seattle: “Better than sex!” Jacqueline from Redmond: “I’ve never been that relaxed before in my entire life!”

Newfound Confidence with the best in Seattle Hypnosis Services – Mindworks!

She found business success with Seattle’s best hypnosis services.

Hi, Hypnosis Friends!

Mindworks Hypnosis has received another glorious testimonial of client success!  G. E. of Mill Creek, WA. (using her initials only, by request) used to have low self esteem and she lacked confidence and it was negatively impacting her work and her interactions with coworkers and managers.  Not any more!

Things are changing.  Read all about it, below.  Life success changes for G.E.  Less “nervous” and more “confidence” resulting in more “responsiblility, visibility and creativity.”  That’s what a powerful blend of the best of Seattle hypnotherapy services and the artistry of Neuro Linguistic Programming can do for a person.  G. E. sent two letters detailing her success with improved confidence after our sessions.

“Hi Connie, I promised you that I would get back to you about the results of a big meeting I was due to have with my manager:  it went well. I felt free to speak and wasn’t fearful in any way. Perhaps more telling is that my heart wasn’t pounding before the meeting. When this happened (in the past), I was so nervous that all my prep work went out the door and I wound up looking like I don’t know what I was talking about. But it didn’t happen in this case. I felt comfortable standing my ground and speaking up for my needs.

… I’m also finding myself speaking up more in meetings. When I don’t know what something is, I’m not afraid to ask the speaker for clarification.  In the past, I was too scared to look like a dummy.

So, all in all, some very positive changes are afoot. 🙂 Thank you for help with all this. I’m going to keep utilizing my newfound confidence.”

Regards, G. E., Mill Creek, WA.

And I received a follow up email:

“Since my last email, the proposal I was discussing with my manager during the meeting I referenced was subsequently approved by her superiors, giving me more responsibility, visibility and allowing me to be more creative. 🙂 If I hadn’t taken that first step of broaching the topic with her first, which I very likely wouldn’t have if I continued along my spiral of low-self esteem and lack of confidence, things wouldn’t be where they are today.”

Way to go, G. E.!  I love a success story.  G. E. is one!

This is what I do every day.  Work with people to become who they want to be, doing what they want to do, feeling the way they want to feel.  Life should be a positive adventure, not a negative experience.  How wonderful that these tools exists to change lives like G. E.  She had three sessions, and reversed that downward spiral she had found herself in previously.  Three weeks to a new life.  Are  you ready?

Warm Regards,
Connie

High-Five!! to the Unconscious Mind

High-Five to the Unconscious Mind!

Hi, Hypnosis Friends!

I was on a hypnosis forum this morning, and a hypnotist-wanna-be (he’s not there yet) was espousing on the evils of the unconscious mind. He called it “sad” and “destructive” and didn’t think it should be involved in decision making. Wrong! Wrong and double that for more wrong!

Wow, this guy doesn’t know what hypnosis is, and he doesn’t know how the mind works. All decisions come from the unconscious mind. All of them. Contrary to what we “think,” all our behaviors and decisions are driven by unconscious processing. That’s why we “think” we want to change something (like quit smoking), and yet we don’t do it. You have to get into the level of the unconscious mind to make changes, and there’s where hypnosis and Neuro Linguistic Programming NLP come into play.

Here’s what I believe: the unconscious mind is pure positive energy and it’s ALWAYS moving toward what it perceives as the best way to achieve positive goals. When new (more useful) choices are introduced, via our work–hypnotists & Nelpers–the unconscious mind says: “YES, yes, yes, that’s better and I’m going for it.” Fear becomes calm. Bored becomes motivated. Depressed becomes joy…and so on.  And new behaviors flow from there.

I LOVE unconscious minds, and it’s such a joy and privilege to communicate with them. High-Five to the unconscious mind!

Warm Regards,
Connie

Does Your Hand Deserve Your Thumb?

Time to bloom.

I’m working with a girl right now whose father told her at a ripe impressionable age:  “you don’t deserve anything.”  One of the things her mind decided she didn’t deserve was health.  In her adult mind, she knows what her father MEANT for her to learn by that statement:  “you won’t be offered things on a silver platter, you have to work hard to achieve success.” BUT…what he said and what she heard, literally was:  YOU DON’T DESERVE ANYTHING.

Wow!  Her unconscious mind took that on board.  Absolutely literally.  What a terrible and damaging message–coming from someone who should be loving and nurturing.  I asked her yesterday if she deserved to breathe the air in the room, and I could see her internal struggle because she knew it should logically be “yes” yet she felt and believed it was “no.”  This blog entry is called:  “Does your hand deserve your thumb?”

I posed that question to my client yesterday, in trance.  “Does your hand deserve your thumb?”  We let her powerful unconscious mind percolate on what is natural, what is a part of us, and what is “deserved.”  I also asked her if a flower deserves sunshine, and to be nourished by rain and the nutrients in soil?  Does a flower deserve to bloom?  I sure think so!!  This lady is a flower who thinks she has no right to bloom.  I’m helping her to change her thinking–and her health!

Language is so much more powerful than people know.  One of the tragedies (and so unnecessary) of human life seems to be this parental business of installing negative and limiting and damaging beliefs in children.  The young mind has no conscious filter to block damaging ideas, like adults have.

A huge piece of my NLP and hypnotherapy work involves un-installing negative beliefs and re-installing power and possibility into lives.  I’m so happy this technology exists which creates healthy change so quickly and seamlessly.  I’m also so happy that I’ve been privileged to learn it, really learn it from the source of NLP himself, Dr. Richard Bandler, the best of the best of the best.

Unfortunately, I’m continually finding that other Seattle area hypnotists don’t have the skill set or the mind set for this work–and clients who have escaped their ineptitude come to me and tell me horror stories of non-helping and “hypnotists” even installing more limitations in them.  These unskilled ones are playing at being hypnotists, as a part time “I know enough to get by” kind of gig.  Luckily, they won’t be around for long, because they can’t deliver the results.

Go for quality.  Someone well trained and imaginative enough to understand the power of words to help and heal.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Obesity – Helping through Hypnosis!

Seattle, hypnosis helps for obesity.

Hi, Hypno Friends!

Obesity!  That’s an ugly word!  What is it?  The dictionary says it means “excessively fat or fleshy”, originating from latin words meaning “intensive eating.”  Good news:  It’s really NOT an immovable monolithic THING, it’s a cumulated effect of choices, patterns, behaviors and actions–which are moveable objects, not monoliths.

Obesity is a huge problem in Seattle and the world.  I was musing today on the mindset of healthy eating, healthy movement and exercise, and reshaping the body, and how easy those things are to create and sustain through hypnotherapy.  It really comes down to focus and frame of mind.  When you successfully change those, you change everything.

“Habits” don’t control us, it’s the UNconscious drivers of habits that are important.  With hypnosis, those things can be located and changed.  And I mean EASILY.  With skilled hypnosis and NLP – supercharged powerful conversational hypnosis – ideas, feelings, and habits that lead to “obesity” can change in a heartbeat.

If you do emotional eating, binge eating, have tried fad diets and worse in a fail after fail attempt at weight control of obesity, well….there’s a new kid in town.  Only she isn’t new.  She’s been there all along, you just haven’t noticed her.  Her name is HYPNOSIS.  She’s starting to flex her muscles.  Yay!

Hypnosis is a powerful, powerful tool in the battle with obesity.  How do I know this?  I’m living it, baby!  And I help people in the Seattle area and beyond with my hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming work and hear and see their weight loss results.

Cut through all the gimmicky crap (like, eat grapefruit for a week), artificial diets that don’t sustain any real changes, or radical and RIDICULOUS ideas like body surgery for obesity, pills to alter your chemistry with who knows what awful side effects, and think for a moment about what really has the power over you and your choices.  (dramatic pause)  NOTHING!  You have the power, only you aren’t currently connected to it.  Hypnosis and NLP (done well by someone creative and skilled) can do that, connect you to your power.  Goodbye, Obesity!

There’s a reason Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP has been awarded “Best of Bellevue 2011” and “Best of Bellevue 2012” for WEIGHT LOSS AND CONTROL PROGRAMS.  Because hypnosis works best for obesity.  Obesity isn’t a body state (as medicos keeps insisting), it’s a mind state.  And you can change your mind anytime.  Now is good.

Find out more here about how to beat obesity:  http://www.loseweightseattle.com/.  And I invite you to read and SEE some very nice testimonials of success with Seattle area’s Mindworks Hypnosis here:  Seattle, there’s help for obesity.

When you’re ready to change your thinking and your feeling and your doing around your weight, call me! (425) 564-8608.  I AM the Best in Bellevue and Seattle, too, for that matter.  Discover hypnosis for helping with obesity!

Warm Regards,
Connie
