Big in the news right now is the story of vaping, or using electronic e-cigarettes either to quit smoking, or as a substitute for smoking. Vaping is dangerous and unhealthy, it’s simply another mechanism to introduce addictive chemicals into the body. Even President Trump has given a directive to address the growing health issue of children and vaping.

My office cabinet is filled with discarded packages of cigarettes from client after client. They quit smoking effective immediately to the point that they hand me their cigarettes (and chewing tobacco) right there during a session and announce: “I’m done!” Sometimes they hand them to me. Sometimes they want to crush them and throw them into my garbage can. It’s all good. One client wanted to and DID run over them with her vehicle in the parking lot.
I keep these discarded packages of cigarettes of all brands around for testing purposes, to verify that the person in front of me is done smoking…that ALL temptation or desire to smoke is gone.

I was working with a Seattle man the other day on quitting smoking. One of the elements of this work is our search for a useful feeling called “hell, no!” This gentleman, his “Hell, no!” was the thought of eating a rotten banana–he declared it the worst disgust feeling he could conjure. Coincidence, and propinquity! I had a half eaten well-past-its-prime squishy black banana in my trash can at the office at that very moment. I fished it out and we gave him several good whiffs, while I used my hypnotic tool kit to set that disgust equal to smoking. He’s done with cigarettes. Cravings are dead.
Long live the rotten banana! And long live the happy and healthy nonsmoker.

Everybody talks about “right brain” vs. “left brain.” Well, it’s all one mind and it works together wonderfully well blending the analytic with the creative. All of it is important, and it’s all useful to us in order to live a balanced, successful life.
However….
My passion lives in the colorful side. My work is art, and yes, I’m an artist. My palette is imagination, and emotion and sound and color, and vivid mind images created by words. I grew up in the Seattle area and my dad was an engineer at Boeing, and a brilliant man, very analytical. My mom was a professional artist and poet, and lived passion and creativity. I feel like I’ve inherited a mind that is the best of both of them. Yay, me! 🙂 It helps me in my work to help you!

On my many websites, I like to highlight the different things hypnosis is good for. Short answer: pretty much EVERYTHING. Michael likes to say: “If the brain is involved, hypnosis helps.” Yes.

Hypnosis is more effective than other stop smoking tools: nicotine gum, the patch, drugs, herbal remedies, acupuncture, and so on. I also talk about all the chemicals that are in cigarettes, and how your body has the capacity to heal itself from the effects of cigarettes and the time frames involved. It’s interesting stuff.

Another story. John came into my office the other day. He was READY to quit smoking. I mean, really ready. He wanted to. For some reason, he just couldn’t. Until he could. Hypnosis is a tool to sharpen focus, motivation, and bring resourcefulness. TO ANYTHING! It brought John the resourcefulness to quit smoking.
We had a Neuro Linguistic Hypnotherapy session. It went fantastically well. Now: John is done with cigarettes. He was so sure, he pulled out his last pack of cigarettes and gave them to me. (I stick them in my desk and use them for testing purposes.) Then he said: “Wait. No. I want to CRUSH them. I want to take the pack in my hand and I want to crush it.” I gave them back, and he did. Squeeze/crush that pack into oblivion. Then he tossed it into the trash can. We both photographed the event! 🙂
Fini! He’s done with smoking and cigarettes. Isn’t that like a breath of fresh air? I like John and I’m so happy for him. Here’s to his continuing power. He didn’t even know that he had this massive resourcefulness inside himself to quit smoking instantly, I wonder what other wonderful things he can accomplish in his life? That he hasn’t discovered? Yet.
Hypnosis has gotten such a bum rap in the world, via ridiculous movies and “Hollyweird” presenting it so wrongly. I’m glad that’s changing. One life success at a time. Yay, John!
A friend of mine created this video for me. I love it! He’s punching and kicking the heck out of that bag. If there’s something, some old habit you’d like to kick out of your life (SMOKING, for example), well, it’s easier than that and only takes one muscle. Your brain muscle. If you only knew how strong that is.
Hypnosis works for smoking cessation. I know it does. I have a drawer full of cigarettes from clients who quit smoking. I use them for testing purposes. When you’re done with a session or sessions with Seattle’s best hypnosis (us), I offer you cigarettes. And guess, what? You don’t want them.
I’m going to share a story. 🙂 Well, the snow was coming down here in the Seattle area (I know you know!–the media was calling it “snowmageddon”) and Michael and I had committed to conduct a hypnosis training. We don’t like to cancel and/or disappoint—so we decided to stay in a hotel overnight close to the training location to be SURE we could make it. We did make it.
That actually was a lot of fun spending the night there! Nice hotel. It has a no-smoking policy. (Neither Michael or I smoke, so that was no hardship for us.) However, I read something on the check-in materials that I found surprising. This hotel is SO serious about its nonsmoking status, that if you smoke in one of their rooms (even one cigarette), they will charge you a “$250 room recovery fee.”
Wow! It costs the hotel guest $250 so that the hotel can sanitize the room after smoking occurred in there–to remove the smell from draperies, furniture, rugs, I imagine. Talk about the cost of smoking!
Now I have to ask myself: wouldn’t a person who smokes rather pay to sanitize his life and body rather than someone else’s hotel room? Wouldn’t that money be a better investment toward healthy? A life recovery fee, rather than a room recovery fee? Seems so to me. And I know how you can do it!

Hi, Guys! The weight of evidence mounts. Hypnosis works!! Kim quit smoking in one Neuro-Linguistic Hypnotherapy session! Five weeks later, here’s what she says about the experience:
“Over the 20 + years of being a smoker, I have made several attempts and used a variety of methods to try and quit…. all unsustainable. I was always thinking about smoking or not smoking which made the battle to quit miserable and in the end I’d go back and have ‘just one more’.
