The Guilt is Gone

Healthy eating with Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP
Take control of the dinner plate!  You have a world of choices.

Hi, Hypnosis Curious!

Here is the story of a recent weight loss client.  She wanted to pursue her goal of a healthy weight, but something was stopping her.  Her husband’s favorite dinner was pizza, and she found herself eating it often and more of it than she wanted to.  He wanted quick and easy.  She wanted more healthy choices.  Dilemma!

She told me that she felt GUILT about preparing and cooking the foods appropriate for her diet, because she had a belief that her husband wouldn’t like the food, wouldn’t want to eat the food, and would be unhappy.

This guilt was a stopper from her successfully pursuing her goal of a healthy weight.  Although the guilt (and resultant act of putting other people first) had been a part of her for her entire life, she agreed that it was useless and nonproductive to her goals.

So, we got rid of her guilt.  That’s what skilled and creative hypnosis and NLP, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, can do.  Gone.  Deleted.

Suddenly, she had the focus and self-care needed to eat healthy.  And, to her surprise, she found that her husband was happy about it all, and actually LIKED the healthy meals she prepared.

This idea in the mind (“hubby won’t like it) and the resultant bad feeling (guilt) was in the way of her success.  We address everything in our Mindworks Hypnosis NLP sessions.  When the goal is weight loss, we don’t only delve into food choice and portion control and emotional eating and the like, we also delve into belief.  After our work, she has a new belief set, a new focus, a new energy, and a new, improved self-image:

“I’m important!  I’m worthy of healthy, and my hubby will support me because he loves me.  So, I’m doing what I have to do for my health.  And he will reap the benefits as well.”

At Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP, we do what it takes to help.  And every client is different with different habits and patterns of thinking.  Every session is different, as well.  We work it.

This weight loss client is referring her friends to me.  One had gone the route of gastric surgery to manage her weight, and it was not successful.  Not good.  People have more control than they know—we just find it and bring it out for success.  Learn more anytime: https://www.mindworkshypnosis.net/hypnosis-results-testimonials-index/

Live NLP Certification Training Event in the Greater Seattle Area, Oct/Nov 2018

Society of NLP - Your Guarantee of Quality
Society of NLP – Your Guarantee of Quality

Hi, Hypnosis & NLP Friends!

Sharing our latest press release.  We are pleased to announce another offering from the career school side of our work.  All the Best, Connie

Licensed private career school, Mindworks NLP, is pleased to announce an upcoming live training event in the Greater Seattle area: “Licensed Practitioner of NLP ®” certification program.  It is slated for 8 days, four weekends, October 6, 7, 13, 14, 27, 28, and November 3, 4, 2018.

NLP, Neuro Linguistic Programming, is a powerful methodology of personal change and influence involving understanding the mind, how it works, and how to create effective communications and connections.  With NLP training, we learn to read others (calibration), develop connections with others (rapport), wield influence through artful language (Ericksonian language), choose our own state of mind (anchoring) and so much more.  NLP can transform thinking, feelings, and behaviors in desired ways.  With these tools, it becomes very easy to create personal change and success of all varieties in ourselves and others.

This is a live, experiential program, not just learning “about NLP,” but rather, learning to “do NLP.”  Licensed Trainers of NLP®, Connie and Michael Brannan’s course is designed for anyone, business people, young people, parents, therapists, those interested in self-development, those curious about the power of mind, or those looking for a new career as an NLP Practitioner.  The uses of NLP are unlimited, for business success, improving relationships, effective parenting, enhanced learning, personal development, and more.  This certification comes through the Society of NLP®, the organization of the co-originator of NLP, Dr. Richard Bandler.

Students will learn not only techniques of change, but the underlying principles of empowerment and structure of change.  Students will learn how the mind creates our world, beliefs, and actions, and how we can alter those things.  Included:

–Well-formed goals

–Representational systems

–Eye accessing

–Calibration

–Rapport

–Meta model

–Milton model

–Anchoring

–Reframing

–Several powerful change processes

–And more.

–Bonus presentation on NLP for Personal Development.

Mindworks NLP offers a variety of mind power training courses, including hypnosis, NLP (Neuro-Linguistic programming certification programs), and stage hypnosis training.  Connie & Michael Brannan also offer private sessions of NLP blended with hypnotherapy in their clinical practice, Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP in Bellevue, WA.  http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net

What is NLP? A Simple Video Answer

NLP is the real deal for life change.

People have heard of hypnosis, and they know it works for all kinds of personal change such as weight management and smoking cessation.  But NLP?  Neuro Linguistic Programming?  It’s less well known.

It should be better known.  Because it’s amazing.  It’s been called “hypnosis on steroids.”  I blend hypnotherapy and NLP together in my private client sessions.  This turbo-charges change.  Check out the testimonial pages on my website to see if rapid, successful change happens or not  (Hint!  It does!)

I made a video this morning to share a simplified explanation of “What is NLP?”  I’m sharing it with you now:  🙂

As always, opportunities abound to learn more. Call me at 425-564-8608 and we can set up a consultation meeting.  NLP is the cat’s meow. Only better.

I’d love to share it with you.

Goodbye to Interview Jitters — Resilient with Hypnosis

Best most effective hypnosis and NLP services.
Personal change & success with Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP.

Hi, Hypnosis Friends!

Have you ever been nervous? Sometimes it makes good sense and is appropriate, in that it keeps you safe!  Keeps you from walking alone in dark alley ways, driving fast on icy roads, or petting the hungry bear coming up to your campsite.

Sometimes fear is useful. Sometimes not!  Most times, not!

Most times, fear and nervous and anxious are a lug wrench messing with life success. Inappropriate, and not useful.  Katherine H. of Seattle, WA was experiencing anxiety and dread.  We prepped her for job interviewing.  Dread won’t land a job, in particular!  An interview is a time to shine and be confident and communicate effectively.  After Neuro-Linguistic Hypnotherapy, she did just that.

Here’s her report:

“Hi Connie, I’m doing quite well.  I’m feeling like my old self again, which is terrific! I interviewed for a job today in Bellevue! What I have noticed is that I don’t have those dread feelings anymore…Today as I was waiting for the interview, my brain said happy! It felt soothing. 🙂 It’s really nice not to be bothered with the roller coaster ride and I find that I am more resilient overall.” — Katherine H., Seattle, WA.

Terrific, is right!

How long did it take to achieve this turnaround, this transformation?  From fear and dread to happy, soothing resiliency?  Quicker than you think.  A few hours, a few sessions.  Not years of laborious therapies that like to talk about problems.  We don’t analyze problems, we do the work to END the problems.  If other therapies had the tools to do so, they would.  They don’t.  Here’s what works:  pure NLP done right combined with creative (not canned or generic) hypnosis.  I love what I do, because it is creative.

Some Seattle area hypnotists will read a generic script at you in a 45 minute hypnosis session, and call it good to go.  In my book, not good enough.  Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP offers something very, very different.  A creative flow of words, ideas and communications designed for your mind and life, that lasts 1.5 to 2 hours.  Interactive! Fun!  Fascinating!  And it works.  NLP is a “high tech” hypnosis, and very few are skilled in it, which is unfortunate.  Done right, it’s amazing.

The proof is in the pudding.  We’ve updated the website today, http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net with more client success testimonials, in addition to Katherine’s. We’ve shared over 250 client reports and comments of their successful life changes at this point.  If you’ve got a few hours to spare, they’re great reading and thoroughly inspirational!

You didn’t know change was so easy, did you?  Find out for yourself, any time!  Call me at 425-564-8608 for a free consultation and learn more about what I do and how I can help.

Not That, This! An NLP Visualization Technique for Positive Change

Happy successful life with NLP and hypnotherapy.Hi, Hypnosis Friends!

How would you like to learn to minimize problems out of existence?  You can!  Here’s an easy and powerful NLP technique to “explain to the brain” the things you want and the things you don’t want.  Not that!  This!

I was working with a lady in my office one day recently, and in the course of our work, she complained to me: “You’re minimizing my problem!” Yes! Yes, I am. And so should you. That’s the whole point of this work: to minimize problem(s) out of existence. And yes, we can.

Would you like to minimize your problems to the point that they don’t exist? Here’s an NLP technique to do just that. Literally.  Read more…

https://mindworkshypnosis.net/hypnotizer/seattle-nlp-training-visual-swish-technique/

A problem is only a problem if we define it as such in our own mind and life. Take “stuck in traffic” for an example. Some people caught in Seattle traffic listen to music and smile and dream happy thoughts. Others smack the wheel in rage and hurl obscenities and skyrocket their blood pressure. It’s the same situation, the response is different.

One man’s misery is another man’s joy. My sister works in the field of accounting, and she loves it. It’s her passion. I did that work for awhile, and let me tell you, it was not my passion. It was mind dead boredom. I know a man who had his leg blown off in the war. He’s not vegetating in a wheelchair like others in his situation, he’s out and about helping design his own artificial running leg. He’s an athlete. And he runs.

Things stop us from achieving our goals only if we let them. The right mind set and the right set of driving emotions moves us forward. Here’s the great and relatively unknown aspect of all this. We control that mind set and set of driving emotions.

That control panel is called NLP. Neuro Linguistic Programming. We can control how we feel, think, and act. We can program (instruct) our minds to respond how it’s useful and appropriate to respond to move us forward towards our goals. Any goals. That’s NLP.

This control panel in our minds is sensory operated. It’s visual. It’s sound-based. It’s feeling based. And these things, pictures, sounds and feelings, lead us into behaviors and beliefs. People think of beliefs as solid things, tangible, like a rock. They’re not. They’re more fluid, like a flowing river. And we can change the direction of them at will. That’s NLP. It’s effective communication with our unconscious minds, that part of us which defines and determines our reality

This programming (instruct the mind) technique I’m sharing today is visual. I call it: Not that, This! It’s formal name is “The Visual Swish.” In this technique, we take the unconscious mind by the hand and show it clearly what we want. And what we don’t want.

When the unconscious mind understands what we want, it will take us there. A simple still image can convey an enormous amount of complex information and meaning. “A picture is worth a thousand words,” as they say. Looking at a picture, we absorb incredibly large amounts of data quickly.

Again, here’s the article:

https://mindworkshypnosis.net/hypnotizer/seattle-nlp-training-visual-swish-technique/

Not that feeling, this one. Not that belief, this one. Not that habit, this one. Not that body, this one.

Play with this visual technique. It’s a five minute process which could change your thinking and your actions, your outlook and your life.

I hope you enjoy your “Not That, This!” outcomes. There’s so much more to this control panel in our minds. If you’d ever like to learn how to run your mind and optimize your life, take our Seattle NLP Training courses. Michael and I are Licensed Trainers of NLP ® through the originator of NLP, and we offer certification courses here in the Seattle area.

All the Best,
Connie

Grow Your Happy with Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP Seattle

Last year in March, the world celebrated happy, with the International Day of Happiness. Here’s a video which shares that exuberant joy.

I think we should do more of that, celebrating joy and feeling happy.  🙂  I think happiness is too big and wonderful to contain within a single calendar day, and should be welcomed and lived every day.  What kind of a world would it be if people were HAPPY every day?  A different world, a better world.  Because…

In the words of the developer of NLP and my favorite teacher, Dr. Richard Bandler:  “Good feelings, good decisions.  Bad feelings, bad decisions.”  My work is all about good feelings, and making them unconsciously automated.  That’s hypnosis and NLP.  When you feel good, you think differently, and you act differently in ways that are useful to you.  NLP Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a high tech hypnosis described as “The Art & Science Of Excellence,”–and I am so pleased to have achieved the status of Licensed Trainer of NLP ® through Dr. Bandler.

Learn more anytime about the power of hypnosis and how easy it really is to find your happy, with the right tools, skillfully wielded.  Here:  http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net  I love my hypnosis & NLP client work here in the Greater Seattle area.  Your success, that’s what makes me happy.

Warm Regards,

With Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP, Change is FUN!

Solve life's puzzles with Seattle's best hypnotherapy: Mindworks Hypnosis.Hi, Hypnosis Friends!

I got another nice email feedback from one of my successful smoking cessation NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)  and hypnotherapy clients.  His name is Robert Stack, from Seattle, and he said today:

“I never thought freeing myself from smoking could be so much fun!”  — Robert Stack, Seattle, WA  5/17/14.

I hear that a lot–surprise at how easy and how much fun this work is.  Some people have an expectation that change should be unpleasant, grueling, gut-wrenching even. No!  Not in my office. They think change takes a long time.  No!  Not with what I do.  Here’s the truth:  this work is fast and fascinating and FUN.

Hypnosis itself feels great, it’s a “close your eyes and relax” comfort and clarity of mind.  I guide a client to this state of mind and then I create a customized flow of direct and indirect suggestions, words, ideas, stories, and images that inspire change.  It’s a super pleasant, creative space. We spend about 30 to 40 minutes out of a session doing the hypnotherapy portion.

In the same session, we’ll spend a good solid hour or more doing NLP.  NLP, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, is my primary tool, and my expertise, as a Licensed Trainer of  NLP™ through the originator of NLP .  NLP involves playing mind games, following my step-by-step processes manipulating images, sounds, feelings, and beliefs, which have the effect of creating amazing instant change on an unconscious level. And yes, it’s SO MUCH FUN.

Some people come into my office thinking the experience is going to be boo hoo into the kleenex — telling sad stories, like “talk therapies” they may have experienced.  No way in h-e-double-toothpicks.  Never.  We don’t do that.  My office is filled with laughter.  We play with the STRUCTURE of thinking, not the content.  It’s a completely different focus and approach. And, obviously, it works.  Check out the over 160+ testimonials I have on http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net helping with everything under the sun.

People want results.  And so do I.  And how much better to achieve that success in a quick and fun manner with hypnosis and NLP.   Robert has learned what I do and it’s power for change, and what the experience itself is like.  You can, too.

Warm Regards,
Connie

January 21 is “Blue Monday”… or is it?

How would you rather feel?

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

The internet has cheerfully informed me that today is “Blue Monday, the Most
Depressing Day of the Year” and that I’m supposed to be feeling miserably unhappy and depressed right now.

I’m informed that I have all sorts of reasons to feel bad:  dark short days, holiday debt, cold weather, New Year’s Resolutions that are falling apart.

Too bad so sad, sad ain’t happening.  Not in my body and in my day.

What a lot of “presuppositions.”   That’s hypnosis jargon for things someone else thinks are true, that  aren’t necessarily true.  What if I like cold weather?  What if my healthy resolutions are going strong in full force?  What if I manage my money well, and have no “holiday debt?”  In my case, they are ridiculously false.  And the projected outcome of depression is even more ridiculously false.  Even if all those things were true, it doesn’t follow that I should feel bad.  What if those negative events just strengthened my resolve to change?

How am I coping with “Blue Monday?”  I feel GREAT!!! 🙂 It’s a beautiful day.  My belief:  We choose how we feel, always.  And we can implement desired feelings at will.  That’s hypnosis and NLP.  If you’re feeling “blue” and want to feel better, a skilled Neuro Linguistic Programmer can bring some rosy sparkle into your day and the blue can fade out fast.

Warm Regards,
Connie

The Snowball Effect – Positive Changes Grow with Mindworks Hypnosis

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

“My life has improved across the board!”  Michael has received a wonderful testimonial of his clinical changework utilizing Neuro Linguistic Programming.  Watch this video.  It’s longer than most, because Margot here has a LOT to say about how her life is noticeably improving.

Michael worked with this lady, and helped her with a fear of travel, and also turned “boring moments” of her life into excitement.  Boring is an attitude, a state of mind.  Change your mind and you change your life.  Michael helped her to recognize life as an exciting adventure.  And it is, for her, more and more.  Listen!  Watch!

Margot has noticed improvements in public speaking, comfort, teaching, socializing, work, travel.  Life is fun (and exciting) again.  Suddenly, adventures materialize to meet the expectations — life has a way of doing that!!  Margot here is more open to opportunities, now she NOTICES them, and that gives her more.  Nudges towards adventure.  She’s been acting on them.  Yay, Margot!

When you make positive changes in your life, many things are touched and improve as well.  NLP is a powerhouse avenue to positive changes.  It’s been described as “hypnosis on steroids.”  Yes, it is.  Look at this lady’s life transformation–spoken in her own words, after a few minutes of changework with Michael.

I have a friend who says:  “If it’s true, it ain’t bragging.”  I’m not bragging when I say Michael and I are GOOD at what we do.  Very, very good.

Michael is also available (as am I) for client sessions.  Call us:  (425) 564-8608 and discover the most effective hypnotherapy in the Seattle area and beyond.  No brag.  Just fact.  🙂  Ask Margot.

Warm Regards,
Connie

The Art of Successful Thinking – That’s NLP

The Power of Yet
The Power of Yet

Happy 2012!  It’s a new year.

Yesterday I was talking to someone who didn’t have a clue what hypnosis is or NLP is (Neuro-Linguistic Programming ™) or what hypnotherapy is or even a very positive view of the human mind and human capabilities.  They said they thought I help “losers who need their hand held while they whine.”  Uh, no.  Gutter ball!

#1.  There are no “losers,” there are people who feel stuck because they perceive limited choices in certain contexts.  #2.  This isn’t about story telling or hand-holding, it’s about life change and behavioral change.  NOW.

NLP is my primary tool. It’s the study of successful thinking.  How successful people do what they do, dissecting their UN-conscious strategies that lead to desired outcomes.  We ALL can create new strategies that lead to success, and change our behaviors, our thinking, our lives.  We all can model excellence.  An easy way to do this is through hypnosis and NLP.

Hypnosis is simply a method of accessing more or your own mind’s power and creativity and flexibility.  When there’s a “problem,” there’s a strategy that needs tweaking that is essentially a lack of choice.  See cigarette, I must smoke.  Lack of choice.  Smell baking cookie, I must eat it.  Lack of choice.   See a spider, scream and run.  Lack of choice.

Hypnosis offers new unconscious choices, that supplant the old ones, that are more desired and lead to success.

That’s it, in a nutshell.  Hypnosis.  It’s a success builder.  And you define the success that you’re seeking.

I love what I do, and I love when someone begins to realize that they have more choices and can create their own life the way they want it.  And, they do it!  That’s when they write me the testimonials I have on my web pages.

Here’s a simple NLP thought process that can bring a new state of mind to a problem state of mind.  It involves the power of a few simple words to change how you’re thinking, and ultimately, what you do in the world.  The magic of “yet.”  That’s a  wonderful word.  So small, and so powerful.  What does it mean?  Take the following sentences in bold font and consider them fully.

I can’t do X.  (X being stop smoking, or lose weight, or release fear or any statement of a limitation…)  “I can’t.”  Full stop.  End of story. Nothing is beyond that conclusion.
It’s a stopper thought.  And it leads to a myriad of negative emotions. Hopelessness, overwhelm, sad.

I can’t do X, yet.  The assumption, the implication here is that I will be able to do X at some time.  Eventually, I will X.  This little word “yet” opens doors to new possibilities, learning, and movement forward.  And what is the feeling with this?  Positive, motivated, optimistic.  I can’t do X yet.  But I will!

The second response to a limiting statement of “I can’t” is “What would it be like if you could?” Answer the question.  Think about it.  Seriously. Pretend it’s possible.  This drives the mind in a new direction, creating images and thoughts and feelings of
success.  What you focus on expands.  Now your mind is prompted to move in the
direction of what you do in fact want, not dwelling within the limitation of “I can’t.”  With this new focus, behavioral nudges and opportunities to move toward that goal just seem to appear.  And you’re doing what you couldn’t do before.  You hadn’t created the right
state of mind and body for it.  Yet!

I’m hoping for you a limitless 2012.  Make it so!

November Freebie: Here’s an NLP Technique for Procrastination-Busting. Play with it!

Hi, Hypnosis and NLP-interested People!

Happy Autumn!  I love this time of year.  Crispy!  Fresh.  A time for changes.  Here’s a really easy, fun, fast, and amazingly powerful technique to create change–as it’s used here, a tool to combat procrastination.

Books and mountains of words of advice have been written about procrastination, that inertia that says: “Do it later.” We all know that feeling. It’s something we want to do–sort of, but are just NOT doing. Something stops us. And that something is unknown, unseen, but we feel it. Looking at that sink of dirty dishes, I know the feeling.

I get a lot of clients who express that feeling as well. They want to exercise. They just don’t. They want to start a business. They just don’t. They want to create something, write something, learn something, organize something, clean something, DO something. They just don’t. Excuses miraculously appear that “justify” delay, with an inner thought: “I’ll do it later, I’ll do it tomorrow.”   Tomorrow, the same “put it off” feeling is in place, and more excuses appear.  Is this a familiar pattern to any of you?

Any activity can elicit procrastination feelings. Some people’s joy and positive desire and “I can’t wait, I can’t wait!” is another person’s “I don’t want to. Maybe tomorrow.” Manana!

What if it were easy to change this? What if it were easy to attach a feeling of motivation, passion, joy or even just “routine” to what we want to do? It is. I like the idea of shift to routine. If something is routine, we just do it. Because we do. No thought required. No struggle.

Here’s a simple yet powerful Neuro-Linguistic Programming ™ technique to do just that. It’s officially called a “visual sub-modality shift.” Michael calls it “Magic in action.” I call it “fun!” I’m going to walk you through a process to turn an activity that you’re procrastinating on into a routine activity you do easily.

What is routine to you? We’re all different. An example from my life is “brushing my teeth.” I do that every day. No ifs, ands, or buts. No struggle. No inner discussion. I just do it. It’s not a hardship. It’s routine. It might be something different for you. You get up and get dressed every day. Routine. Michael drinks coffee every day. Routine.  You check your email. You bathe. You comb your hair.

Pick an example in your life of a routine activity. Once you’ve settled on that, create an image in your mind that represents that activity. When you create a picture in your mind, the feeling attached (this is something I just do automatically) comes with it. Ok, got it? Good.

Now, what is an activity you’d like to become more routine? The thing you may be procrastinating on, perhaps like exercise. Make a picture in your mind that represents that. Just let it pop in. Got the second picture?  Good.

Now, I’ll walk you through the process.

First, study the picture of your routine activity. Notice all the photo-shop type qualities of the picture. Is it in color or black and white? Is it three-dimensional or flat like a photograph? Is there movement in the picture or is it still? How many images? Is it landscape mode, portrait mode, panoramic? How big is the picture. Is it life size? Poster size? Index card size? How far away from your mind’s eye is the picture?

We actually carry our inner pictures floating around us in space. Some are right in front of our face, some are at arm’s length, some are across the room, some are to the right of us, the left, above, below, behind, etc. Find the picture in space. Notice the clarity, focus, contrast, brightness, the saturation of color if there is color. Notice all those photo-shop type qualities.

Step two. Take the second picture, the procrastination one, and MATCH every quality to be the same as the qualities of the routine picture. We’re not talking content of the pictures here, we’re talking those qualities I’ve just mentioned. Brightness, location, size, clarity, color/no color, etc. Make your procrastination activity picture match in every way the routine picture.

Now, count to five.  Or, look out the window for a moment. Distract yourself. Think about something else. Just for a moment.

Now, think about the activity you had been procrastinating on…how do you feel about it now? Think about doing it right now or at your next reasonable available time. How do you feel? Are you making inner excuses not to do it or are you feeling more inclined to just do it?

If the change in feeling is pleasing to you, then, snap your fingers and tell yourself to keep the activity picture just like that–with the new qualities.

NLP is the real deal for life change.
NLP is the real deal for life change.

How we feel determines how we think, and what we do. This shift in feeling and thinking right now is going to lead to a shift in behaviors, what we actually DO in “the real world.” Prove it to yourself. Play with this and write to me with your success!

Enjoy your new-found power to get things done!

Allergy Relief in Action – “My Nose is Free!!”

Hi, Hypnosis Friends!

As well as “doing” this work to help people make healthy and positive changes in their lives in a clinical context, Michael and I also teach.  The school side of what we do is inform and prepare others, including other area hypnotherapists, in the processes and power of NLP and hypnosis.  This video, below, is part of a class demonstration last weekend of what is known as “The NLP Allery Relief Process.”  The video is not complete, but it’s a good chunk of the work.

The idea here is:  Allergies are learned responses which can be unlearned and new responses learned.  Robert Dilts, an NLP “big name” who created this process I am demonstrating, called allergies “phobias of the immune system.”  NLP fixes phobias.  NLP can fix allergies as well.  Quicker than you can imagine.

In this video, we are replacing the neurology of an allergic response Gaia had to drinking coffee (runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, coughing–your typical too much histamine responses) with a neutral experience.  Drinking water.  She can do that.  No problemo!!  We take that as a resource for unconsciously learning a new response to coffee.

What if she could drink coffee (as she used to be able to do) as easily and as comfortably as drinking water?  She can.  She does.  Watch!  As I touch her hand (firing off the resourceful state into her neurology via what is called an “NLP anchor”) she is relearning coffee drinking comfort, as easy as drinking water.

I love me some NLP!  If you’d like to learn more about the magic in action of NLP, check out the school side of what we do:  http://www.seattlenlptraining.com.  Mindworks NLP is a fully licensed State private vocational school.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Drive Your Own Bus

NLP is the real deal for life change.
NLP is the real deal for life change.

Hi, Hypno-Friends, Enthusiasts, & Interested Parties!

There’s still a few seats available for Michael’s and my “Power of Mind” Workshop we’re offering.  It’s happening this Saturday, July 16.  More info:

https://mindworkshypnosis.net/hypnotizer/?p=1578

and http://www.seattlenlptraining.com

It’s a driving school.  Not about motor vehicles.  It’s about LIVES.  Your life! About running your life the way you want.  Taking control.  The King of NLP, and my teacher, Dr. Richard Bandler, calls learning and using NLP “Driving your own bus.”  Yes, I do.  Perhaps, you want to, too! 🙂

This powerful seminar/workshop focuses on using NLP for self development and life success.  NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) can be described as an amalgam of linguistics and hypnosis, and is based on the study of human excellence.  If it weren’t already taken, the slogan for NLP could be:  “Be all that you can be.”  Yes, you can.  We’ll help you, as you learn and experience powerful subconscious communication tools and techniques you can use immediately to increase personal satisfaction, self confidence, influence and power.  Eliminate undesirable habits!  Program in more useful ones.  Control your emotional states and more!

It’s not fluff.  It’s not hype.  It’s REAL.  The testimonials on my website (and there are dozens upon dozens) are because I incorporate NLP into my therapy work.  In one of the video testimonials we received, a woman says:  “Everyone should be required to learn this (NLP) at an early age.  It would make the world such a better place.”  I absolutely agree.

If you want in for a one-day workshop showcasing NLP and more about hypnosis in general, too…join us!  Remember that old airline slogan, “We love to fly, and it shows.”  Well, We love NLP, and it shows.

Warm Regards,
Connie & Michael

Why My Desk Drawer Is Full Of Cigarettes.

Hello, Hypnosis Friends!

It’s time to clean out my work desk.  It’s getting cluttered.  And it’s full of things I don’t want.  Nobody does.

Some formerly-smoking clients like to give me “gifts” as they’re leaving their Neuro-Linguistic Hypnotherapy session(s).  They hand me their last package of cigarettes, and say:  “I don’t need these.  I’m so done with cigarettes.”

I’ve been keeping these “gifts” for a reason.  Part of the work I do is TESTING.  How do we know the hypnosis is working?  The proof is the pudding and you, my clients, are the pudding.  How do you respond?  Is it different than when you walked in the door?

With a spider phobia client we go into the garden and look for spiders, so he/she can stick their face two inches from a spider and FEEL the difference.  Nothing.  Calm.  With a fear-of-heights client, we’ll walk into the open 2nd level atrium in my building and lean over the edge, and FEEL the difference.  Nothing.  Calm.  With a former smoker, he/she will hold the cigarette, smell the cigarette, look at the package, and FEEL the difference.  Zero interest.  Zero attraction.  Indifference.  Or, as useful, disgust, as in “I don’t want those.”

So I keep these packages of cigarettes around for testing.  But I don’t need so many packages in my drawer.  I’ll just keep one.

Other “gifts” include tins of chewing tobacco, and various packages of candy.  Clients have handed them over telling me that they’re choosing healthy instead.  I have some in my drawer, and it’s also a nice test for ME–someone who was a “candy addict” for decades upon decades.  I test me, and no, I have zero interest  in eating that candy.  Forgetaboutit!  Good thing, too.  Because I’ve re-shaped my body with hypnosis and I intend to keep it that way.

HYPNOSIS WORKS!  What do you want to remove from the “drawer” to create your happy life?  Come see me.  I’ll help you declutter from the things you don’t want. Call me and learn more: (425) 564-8608. Or check out one or more of my websites:

An NLP “Anchor” In Action!

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

This is a VERY cute video.  It’s not just an adorable baby laughing as Dad tears up his job rejection letter…it’s more than that.  It’s an accurate and amazing illustration of ANCHORING.

I talk about anchors, and I use anchors all the time in my work.  It’s an NLP term.  (Neuro-Linguistic Programming, a high tech hypnosis.)  In this video, every time the baby hears/sees the paper rip, he immediately laughs uproariously.  EVERY TIME.  Stimulus, response.  Stimulus, response.  Same stimulus, same response.  Over and over and over again.    Simply explained, an anchor is an unconscious association that’s been created, a link-up in the brain.  This means that, this leads to that.  When it rains, I feel sad.  When I see a spider, I recoil in fear.  When I see a stop sign, my foot moves off the gas pedal.  When I smell chocolate brownies, I remember my mother.  Anchors!

Now, laughter is a wonderful thing to anchor.  Keep it!  When a response is less than desired, however, that’s where NLP comes in.  We can change our anchors.  Absolutely easily!  I worked with a gentleman with a debilitating fear of heights this past week.   That fear response, it was simply a learned response, an anchor.  I’m in a high place, and that means PANIC!  (Not anymore, after working with me!  Now it means calm, comfortable, confident, and clear-minded.)  What we do in NLP work, we help people break out of these unconscious patterns and install new anchors, for better and more resourceful responses.

People think they’re stuck.  They’re trapped.  They’re not.  NLP creates anchors, good ones, and replaces the non-useful ones.  I’d be happy to show you how.  As a client:  http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net or as a student:  http://www.seattlenlptraining.com.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Rewire the Brain Through Hypnosis

RewireHi, Hypno Friends!

Well, Michael and I attended another hypnosis training event this past weekend, because it’s always a good idea to learn more and increase skills.  It was fantastic!  As you may have noticed from my conversations here (and that’s what this blog is, me thinking out loud), I CARE about hypnosis.   And being good at it.  I LOVE hypnosis.  I live hypnosis.  I want to share the good word on hypnosis.  It is so positive and so powerful, so healing, and so mis-understood and underappreciated it the world.  (You may enjoy my blog entry on “Hollyweird.”)  https://mindworkshypnosis.net/hypnotizer/?p=202.  People are influenced by movies, TV, popular culture–and those media do not always portray the reality of hypnosis.

So, I have two stories I want to share in this blog entry.  1.  My recent efforts to combat “Hollyweird” by giving my professional input into a performance involving hypnosis and 2.  More about my hypnosis training and the cool and valuable things I learned there–how to help rewire the brain, specifically for stroke survivors.  However, rewiring is also applicable for so much more than that.  We also enhanced our knowledge on how to alleviate pain with hypnosis, and “emergency hypnosis” for those life and death situations such as car crashes or dealing with burn victims.

Story 1.  I had a fun new gig.  I consulted for a theater company.  They’re putting on a play in the Seattle area and it involves a scene of hypnosis.  They wanted to get it right, be authentic, so they contacted me.  I was happy to help.  I met with the director and several actors and explained the truth about hypnosis, what it is, how it feels, what it can do.  They acted out the scene for me and I critiqued.  (So much fun!)  More than just describing, I also hypnotized them to experience it live and first hand.  Because, experiencing is believing.  They’re believers now.  In the positive power and magic of hypnosis.  Yay!!  Take that, Hollyweird!  🙂  And Hollyweird’s continuing saga of evil, thieving, murdering, insane hypnotists with their armies of hypno-zombie slaves.

Here’s an entertainment source putting a more accurate depiction out there.  I approve!  Here’s the play, by the way, if you’re interested.  It opens this Friday:  http://thatgtheatre.com/now.html.  The play is “Shoreditch Madonna.”

Story 2.  Don Mottin 001 Cropped EnhancedMore about the training.  It was two days of continuing education, put on by the NGH (National Guild of Hypnotists, which is the oldest, largest and most respected professional organization of hypnotists in the US) and Michael and I both attended.  Yay!  We now have more tools to help with pain management, emergency hypnosis, and helping stroke survivors.  We learned to rewire the brain through hypnosis–which is something we do on a daily basis anyway, but now specifically targeted for helping stroke survivors.  After a stroke, there may be a loss of movement, vision, cognitive function, and so on.  These tools help stroke survivors to be more functional and regain capabilities!  A worthy goal, and wonderful hypnosis tools.

Here’s a picture of me and the instructor, Don Mottin.  Besides being a stroke survivor himself, He’s Vice President of the NGH.  That’s the national group, and we were darn lucky to have him travel to Seattle to offer this training.  It’s all in the family as Michael, my Michael, is President of our state’s local chapter of the NGH, the NGHWA.  http://www.nghwa.org.  One of the facets of the guild is to have a committment to continuing hypnosis education.  This is some of that!  Yes!  Learning, in my model of the world, is ongoing and forever.  That’s what I want and that’s what I do.  Learn and utilize.  My intention, of course, is to be the best and most helpful hypnotist I can be.  More tools is good tools.

If you know someone who has suffered a stroke, please do consider hypnosis and hypnotherapy as a tool to help them rewire their brain.  I know this works, and I’d be happy to work in conjuction with their medical MDs to enhance the healing process and regain their lives!

Warm Regards,
Connie
