As they say, there is no time like the present. And they’d be right! So much craziness and uncertainty in the world can lead to fear and stress. What’s needed? A sense of control. Optimism. Calm. Confidence. Creative thinking. When you feel good, life is easier.
Lucky for all, these are for sale at Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP. We offer our trademarked service, Designer Feelings®, custom-crafted for your life and goals. When you change how you feel, you change what you do and are able to do. Fact!
A new year. A new decade. I started this business in 2007, and it has exceeded my expectations, in terms of the pure joy of creation and self expression it affords me. I love the work I do, and I love how I help.
I offer advice to new hypnotists. A huge part of this puzzle called success and longevity is getting the word out. Hence, I spend a lot of effort on my website, Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP.
A website should be legit. Reflective of the business and people involved. I’m not a fan of “templates” and boilerplate generic text. I like genuine. And original. I created my website myself–and I’ve written every word describing my services and the numerous articles and I made the videos shared (about 100), selected all images, etc. It’s me.
And, I always like it when people respond well to it.
“I love your positive energy… somebody who is walking the walk and not just talking to talk.” — Juliette N, Montana
A girl in Montana wrote to me, wanting to work with me. Unfortunately, my work is face-to-face in my office in Bellevue and involves a multitude of hands-on techniques for success. A watered-down version of my work via phone or skype wouldn’t cut it. Those who are serious come work with me, some even from a great distance–and I like that indicator of determination.
I gave Juliette some advice on finding a skilled hypnotherapist. Hypnotherapy as a profession is growing–so I’m sure she’ll find someone nearer to her. NLP is the real deal for change and I directed her to the Society of NLP® to find credentialed practitioners.
I’ve looked at some local hypnotists’ websites and their name is hidden, their face is hidden, and there’s no hint as to WHO this site belongs to. Canned! A picture of a trickling stream and someone in a lotus position. Personally, I’d like to know more about the person I’d be working with.
I’m celebrating 13 years in business as a hypnotist. I love it! Here’s to the next 13 and beyond.
I’m happy to report receiving another 5-star review of my work on my Google Business Page.
“I do not have sugar cravings anymore!! Connie worked with me for four weeks and it’s been about a month since I last saw her. I was just studying and noted that I honestly don’t crave sugar or junk food anymore. We also worked on some limiting beliefs that I used to have. Let’s just say my life is a lot better. I’m so grateful I found her!” –Aude Thema, Seattle, WA
If you’re ready to get serious about healthy, I’m ready to help. I have the tool kit, called Neuro-Lingustic Programming and hypnotherapy, creatively customized and blended for you and your mind and your goals. This trademarked service is called Neuro-Linguistic Hypnotherapy®.

I just got a lovely letter from a prior client updating me on her state of mind and life. It’s all good. 🙂 Thought I’d share:
“I’ve been reflecting upon all the marvelous ways in which you have helped me. You’ve helped me turn my life around, and I’ll be forever grateful. I feel so much more confident, empowered and in control, to the point that I’m starting my own business. I’ve also noticed improved memory, reduced stress, and I’m using the self-hypnosis to hypnotize myself every day. I’ve realized that once you change your mind, you change your life. Hypnosis is the answer, and I’m using it to work towards my goals.” A. R., Bellevue, WA
That’s right! Keep it going, A. R. Passion and confidence breeds success. And you’ve got both aplenty. Plus, smarts. You decided to use your brain and optimize your life.

Because of the myths and misunderstandings of hypnosis floating around in the world, some people are skeptical and don’t really understand it’s power. Until they do. The proof is in the pudding. Always.
M.L.J, of Seattle came into Mindworks Hypnosis for NLP services and hypnotherapy for the purpose of anxiety and stress release, both in the work setting and in her personal relationships. She was skeptical. At first. And yet she was open to go for it. Now she knows something different, and that difference is success in her goal, the absence of stress.
Here’s her short and sweet report after NLP and hypnosis:
“Although I was skeptical at first it really did help. I haven’t felt stressed at all.” — M.L.J., Seattle, WA
Think about the power of that change. “I haven’t felt stressed. AT ALL.” Good job, M!
When people are caught up in stress, they don’t see the world or themselves clearly. I helped another gentleman with anxiety just yesterday in Bellevue, and here is what he told me he noticed immediately afterward.
He commented that not only did he feel different (calm, safe, and confident), the world looked different to him. Literally. Colors brighter, more present in the moment and noticing the things around him more. He said he looked at his face in the mirror and that he looked different to himself, more good looking.
Wow! That’s success. Now all he has to do is hold onto those good feelings. And I gave him a tool to do so and taught him how to use it. That’s NLP — a supercharged, powerful and quick hypnosis.
If only more people knew the truth about hypnosis. It’s something so positive and so powerful, and so COOL. And so helpful.
Performance anxiety is never a good thing in any setting: taking a test at school, playing your sport, giving a speech. But what a terrible state of affairs for an entertainer to have performance anxiety onstage.
Until they realize they don’t have to.
I was pleased to work with a professional singer recently, who reports that she is “thrilled with her progress!” after one session. Here’s her happy report:
You and I had a session to help me with my performance anxiety. I had my rehearsals for my current production, which in the past would cause me some distress. I am happy to say that I have good news to report, and I am thrilled with my progress!
Since my session, I have been feeling much more calm and positive in my chorus and solo singing. Furthermore, my ability to focus in high pressure situations has improved, thus resulting in the level of performance that I had always felt I was capable of achieving in practice, but what my anxiety would often hinder in performance.
I have sung a few times since our session, and these experiences have all been positive, so much that I feel myself rebuilding the foundation of trust and faith in myself that I thought I had lost forever. I want to thank you so much for your help. I had almost given up on the thing I love, but this has given my mind much needed peace.
I will continue to share my story with others, and if anyone expresses interest upon hearing it, I will be sure to refer your practice. Thank you again!” — J.M., Bothell, WA.
Yay, JM! You go, girl. What’s next? American Idol? 🙂 I can help with any dreams.
Here is another Seattle area hypnosis client success story. Michelle, of Sammamish, WA, reports a “huge impact” of improved confidence after working with Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP. Now she’s free to pursue her goals. You go, girl!
Here is a brief video where she shares her comments:
Here’s the full transcript of her success report:
“Hi, I’ve had a couple sessions with Connie and have noticed a bunch of changes in just a short period of time. The biggest change I’ve noticed is working on self doubt, motivation, confidence. I’m pretty much not contradicting myself in my head. Not preventing myself from doing some things that I want to do. And that so far has had a huge impact.
Some of the things that we talked about–healthy lifestyles! There were a couple of food vices that I had. Soda was one of those, that I would turn to when I was stressed. We had a session on that. And, now, I don’t have that same stress response. I don’t crave that soda if I’m having a bad day. So, some big changes there. It’s been an amazing, positive experience!
Working on confidence and healthy habits. I’ve noticed a lot of progress. So, there’s a motivation, a sense of enthusiasm.
So, it’s a really fun experience! And really positive! All in a short amount of time. I definitely recommend Connie Brannan.” — Michelle, Sammamish, WA.
Clients often comment how amazed they are at the speed of changes. Yes, hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming done right can lead to instant and continuously unfolding change. Success! That’s our goal for every client that walks in our door.
All the Best,

Hi, My Seattle Area (and beyond) Hypnosis Friends!
In a world obsessed with youthful appearance, here’s more evidence to prove something we’ve all suspected: being overweight makes you look older. Overweight adds years to your appearance. And of course, it makes you feel older, slower, and creakier, with less energy.
On Facebook, I found this very cool program from Microsoft, and I immediately started playing with it. “How Old Do I Look?” It’s an age old question (pun) filled with appeal. We all want to know that!
It kind of reminds me of the old carnival barkers who would guess your weight or age, only more scientific! Here, you plug in any pics of yourself, and the facial recognition algorithms estimate your age. In Microsoft’s formal lingo: “Part of Microsoft Project Oxford, Face APIs provide state-of-the-art algorithms to process face images, like face detection with gender and age prediction, recognition, alignment and other application level features.”
In the pictures of me in the video below, one heavier, one thinner, you can see what the age-detecting-robots thought. Heavier is seen as older! In truth, in the thinner picture, I’m two years older than the other pic. The algorithm says: the same face thinner looks younger! And I agree!
Ladies (and men) of a certain age are doing whatever they can to keep a young, vibrant, youthful appearance–for better relationships, for business success, for everyday walking around in the world. They may choose to go under the knife, and get a facelift, or they may color away their gray hair, or they may resort to botox injections to erase lines and wrinkles.
How about a healthy alternative for a youthful face? Lose weight! Nothing glows YOUTH like health–and thinner is healthier.
I know what you’re thinking. But, but, but, it’s hard to lose weight. What if it wasn’t hard? What if there were an easy way to focus your mind and change your body and reclaim your youthful appearance? There is. It’s called…wait for it…HYPNOSIS! There are numerous motivations for change. My clients tell me what they want by way of losing weight, and looking younger is absolutely on the list.
Let’s do it. The clock is ticking. Call me and we’ll get started: (425) 564-8608 Come on out to Bellevue for your free consultation. I help people lose weight, that’s one of my prime areas of expertise. You can check out either of my websites for more info: http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net and http://www.loseweightseattle.com.
I love when I see people changing right before my eyes. A recent weight loss client, Marian Zappala, of Redmond, WA is having wonderful changes through the work we’re doing: hypnosis and NLP. She’s becoming powerful, and losing weight along the wayl!
Marian is a lovely, intelligent lady who needed more confidence in herself. Now she’s got that. After two sessions, she reports that she’s already lost 4 pounds. Here’s what she says about what she’s noticing:
“I was an emotional eater. Since I’ve started the process of hypnosis I have felt more confident, more relaxed, and more in control of my life. And, through this process I have let go of those things that were controlling me, like irritability, boredom, stress, and I now have managed my eating patterns. I’ve lost 4 pounds so far.”
I no longer crave sweets, breads, or the carbs that were making me more tired, more heavy, and more irritable. I’m feeling more confident! And I see that it’s almost unconscious that I’m making these decisions to not eat the bread, the pasta, the rice. And definitely I’m eating smaller portions! The other night for dinner I chose to have just vegetables, and I was not hungry later. When I woke up in the morning, I was hungry but I didn’t want or get any bread. Which is a miracle!”
Food choice changes, yay! However, self image changes: super yay! Here is what Marian says about how she feels more empowered in her life, even beyond just this weight management goal.
“The idea of “I’m not good enough” has been completely destroyed.
I feel more armed for the world, better prepared. My confidence, my ability to manage stressful situations is back to where it used to be, like 15 years ago. So now I feel that it’s just a matter of time for me to achieve the weight loss that I want to have for myself.
I’m really happy about all these changes.
I definitely recommend Connie! You’ll have to come and try it! You’ll see that even in just one session you can feel a difference in your mood and your attitude towards making changes in your life regardless of what the change is. The process is very easy. Connie helps me through all the steps. It’s funny at times. It’s something that I think anybody who has an open mind to a change in their life can embrace.” –Marian Zappala, PHd., Redmond, WA.
Marian came in for weight loss, and that’s happening. Losing weight and finding so much more. I’m enjoying seeing this empowerment of Marian. More! We want more.
When I help people with weight management, we look at everything–and as we begin the work I ask about 1/2 hour’s worth of questions as to existing habits and patterns. My questions are not JUST about the food and exercise habits–they’re also about emotions, beliefs, and self image. I see what needs tweaking for optimal success. And then we go for it. Creative hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. It works.
Carol Jones, of the Seattle area, reports ongoing weight loss success from our Neuro-Linguistic Hypnotherapy™ sessions. She’s down 8 pounds so far and counting! The sugar holiday deluxe, Halloween, did not faze her.
Here’s an excerpt from her happy report:
“Connie, Things are going well. I have lost 8 pounds so far. Halloween was not an issue with the candy… and I enjoyed our sessions. Thank you!” – Carol Jones
When you get your mind focused, you have more power than you know. Carol is discovering this fact. Hypnosis = empowerment. Goodbye, sugar cravings!
If you went a little crazy with the Halloween candy, now is a good time to get your self back into healthy eating mode and shed those extra pounds. Call us at (425) 564-8608 to find out more. We offer a free, private, in-office consultation.
Another happy, successful client joins the ranks of “nonsmoker.” He smoked for 40 years, and quit in one Neuro-Linguistic Hypnotherapy™ session with me.
He sent a follow up report, which he is allowing me to share:
“Hi Connie, Hey, first of all, let me say Thank You! Haven’t had a cigarette since our session on 8/26 at 12:30pm PDT. So, that’s a record for me. What’s it been now… 6 weeks! After ~40 years of smoking, that’s the longest abstinence to date. So far so good. Thanks again.” – Wishes-to-Remain-Anonymous, Seattle, WA.
Yay! More success. The world needs to know that skilled hypnosis kicks smoking’s butt. If you’ve tried other things, and those “didn’t work,” try something new. Something that does work. NLP is “hypnosis on steroids.” Skilled NLP is “magic” according to a recent client of mine. It might seem like magic, but really it’s just the power of understanding how the mind works and how to make rapid changes as useful and as desired. When you think differently, you do differently. Change really IS that easy.
Quitting smoking is just the tip of the iceberg of possibility with hypnosis. Michael and I have a saying at Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP: “If it involves the mind, hypnosis helps improve performance.” From weight management to sports performance, to removing fears and phobias, to physical changes such as accelerated healing, to ending “addictions” of all varieties, hypnosis is the real deal. Find a practitioner of these arts who is the real deal as well. http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net
I helped a nice young man to quit smoking yesterday. He’d been at it for 15 years, since the ripe old age of 13 when he picked up his first cigarette. After our 2-hour session, he said cigarettes were “nothing” to him. He couldn’t dredge up any interest or desire to smoke, whatsoever. None.
Yes, it can be that easy. When you’re ready to quit, focusing your mind with hypnosis and skilled Neuro Linguistic Programming helps make it happen.
Michael and I are always taking a variety of trainings to keep our skills sharp and our creativity flowing. Right now, we’re taking an improvisational acting course. One of the games we learned there is called “narrative collage.” We see a story from a variety of different vantage points, including ones you don’t normally think about. I’ve created this 3-perspective story here about smoking cessation. From the viewpoint of an ashtray, your lungs, and your wallet. Enjoy their story:
We do offer a free in office personal consultation if you’d like to hear more about what we do and how we can help. Call us at (425) 564-8608 and we’ll be happy to set that meeting up for you.
You CAN be smokefree. Quicker and easier than you imagine.
I received another happy success email from one of my Seattle area Neuro Linguistic Hypnotherapy clients this week. We had worked on his fear of flying, using hypnosis and NLP. Chris Gibson, of Seattle, reports:
“I really enjoy flying now and the freedom that is bringing me.
I have been very successful since having hypnosis/NLP sessions with you. In fact, in the past year, I have flown 7 times and am about to take my 8th flight! I even took a trip to Atlanta and back by myself. The work I did with you helped tremendously.
Prior to working with you, I had tried several different methods for controlling my fear of flying but none of them seemed to work. They all seemed like “tricks” or “Band-Aids” and didn’t truly help me to think differently about flying.
During my sessions with you, we went through all of the feelings I wanted to feel on a plane, such as happiness, calm, safety, etc. Through our sessions you helped to plant those thoughts into my subconscious and, for the first time, it worked! On my first flight and each subsequent one those “good” feelings now fill my head and the negative ones have been pushed out. I really wanted to thank you for all of your help. I feel so much more free now! P.S. We are off to Vegas, my third time this year. 🙂 — Chris Gibson, Seattle.
Yay! Another success story. Goodbye, fear of flying. This is the best part of my work, hearing how the tools I use help to unlock power and change lives.
Fear is such a ridiculous waste of energy. When you’re ready to end that, give me and Michael a call. Our tools are stronger than fear.
