So, Buddha was a Hypnotist?

Buddha was another smart cookie.  He obviously shared the hypnotic mindset.  What you think, you become. Change begins in your mind.

In a nutshell, that’s the work Michael and I do at Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP here in the Seattle area.  We help people change their thinking, become more resourceful in the world, and see life differently, and those differences in thinking lead to differences in living.  It’s that easy.

And that difficult.  Because skilled hypnotism and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP: that’s a high tech hypnosis) in the Seattle area is not as common as you might think.  If you find a hypnotist who is GOOD, passionate, creative, skilled, and shares Buddha’s thinking on this, well, magic can happen.  And does!

Call us to learn more about the mind and personal growth and personal development and habit change.  That’s our expertise!  We can help you reshape your thinking in ways that serve your goals.  And your life success!  As a reminder that, yes, hypnosis works, check out the scores of happy hypnosis client testimonials on our website!

Warm Regards,
Connie

Your Brain Before Sleep — That’s Hypnosis, Seattle!

I found this pic on Social Media today.  This cartoon talks about “forgetting,” and I believe that idea as presented is not the whole story.   There is no forgetting.  Let me tell you more about the unconscious mind, how it works, and the power of unconscious ideas to actually “do change.”  I’m going to share what I know to be true with you, Seattle, about hypnosis, my passion!

Even if the conscious (thinking, awake) mind doesn’t remember these “amazing ideas,”  the ideas are still in THERE, and working inside the unconscious (creative, intuitive, power) mind.  They’re active.  They’re not “lost.”  They are beyond conscious awareness, and that’s where they are most potent and useful.  Unconscious ideas move us, to be and do different actions in the world.

This should not be an “Oh, well, disappointment” cartoon, it should be a “Hell, yes, and YAY!!!! Isn’t that terrific?” cartoon.  And when the unconscious mind thinks it is useful, you DO remember consciously.

Here is more information about hypnosis, Seattle!  Yes, those moments before sleep are a hypnotic state of mind.  Myriads of tests have been done to understand and label brainwave patterns, and those moments before sleep are an identical brainwave pattern to hypnosis, called Theta waves.  Every night as you’re falling asleep, you pass through hypnosis.  And every morning when you awake from sleep,  you pass through hypnosis.  This is not some otherworldly unknown, this is our life.  Hypnosis is natural, and we do it everyday.

Here, I have a chart of brainwave patterns, and explanation.  The hypnotic state of mind is between analytical, conscious thinking (Beta) and deep unconscious sleep (Delta).  It’s a natural state in which we drift in and out of throughout each day.

Those creative thoughts, keep them coming, brain. Consciously or unconsciously.  Those moments before sleep are a power state of mind, and the unconscious will take those creative ideas and fly with them and create changes in the life that are wonderful. Who cares what the conscious mind remembers?

Here’s to your positive changes, Seattle!

Warm Regards,
Connie

Seattle Hypnosis Success Story: After 20 Years of Trying, Cal Quit Smoking with Mindworks Hypnosis!

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

More evidence in support of skilled hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) as a tool for life success.  Cal Ihler, here, quit smoking.  He had been trying unsuccessfully to end smoking for 20 years, meeting only with disappointment, with “hardship and stress.”

That’s as dead as the smoking habit, after working with us.  🙂  Cal reports that his new state is joy and happiness and the satisfaction of doing what he wants to do.  Hear it in his own words!

Yay, Cal!  Two months without cigarettes, soon to be 2 years, then 20 years, then his entire life as a nonsmoker.  The smoking habit will be a dim memory, lost in the mists of antiquity.

If you’re ready to REALLY get down and dirty and say “hell no” to cigarettes, well, these tools work.  Some people quit in a single session, and the change comes like “boom!!”  Instantaneous transformation.  Walk in a smoker, walk out, a nonsmoker.  Check out the testimonials here which support that.  Some people, like Cal here, take a couple or three sessions for success as the mind processes the changes at a rate of speed that is comfortable.

Bottom line:  change happens.  Success happens.

When you’re ready to quit smoking, and to enter a state like Cal describes:  successful and joy-filled and happy, call us!  🙂

Warm Regards,
Connie

Stop Smoking, Seattle!

Stop Smoking, Seattle!  It’s good advice.  It’s also a website:  http://www.stopsmokingseattle.com/.  I have several websites that I’ve created, and this site is about hypnosis for smoking cessation.

Here’s an advertising video for my site:

On my many websites, I like to highlight the different things hypnosis is good for.  Short answer:  pretty much EVERYTHING.  Michael likes to say:  “If the brain is involved, hypnosis helps.”  Yes.

http://www.stopsmokingseattle.com has lots of good information about studies on hypnotic success with quit smoking.  Kind of like a battle royale, and hypnosis wins!  Hypnosis is more effective than other stop smoking tools:  nicotine gum, the patch, drugs, herbal remedies, acupuncture, and so on.  I also talk about all the chemicals that are in cigarettes, and how your body has the capacity to heal itself from the effects of cigarettes and the time frames involved.  It’s interesting stuff.

And primary, of course, on my hypnosis for stop smoking website, is the PROOF.  Seattle area people I’ve helped using hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) who agreed to let me share their success stories.  Actually, there are many providers of hypnosis in Seattle, with varying skill sets.  My advice:  Go for quality!  Go for proven success.  That’s me and Michael and our passion:  Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP.  It’s the best in Seattle hypnotherapy services.

If you yourself are interested in dumping tobacco use, or know someone who is, direct them to my website.  More people should know that skilled hypnosis is the best tool to stop smoking, and stay stopped.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Are You Ready to Quit Smoking, Seattle? Hypnosis works!

Quit Smoking with Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP. It’s easier than you think.

I LOVE my happy clients.  Chalk up another win for my blend of hypnotherapy and NLP vs. tobacco.

Cal Ihler of Woodinville, WA. shared his success story today in an email, and I’ve gotten his permission to share it with you.  He’s a non-smoker now, and feelin’ GOOD!!

“Hi Connie, I want to share with you that I have not been smoking for over 5 weeks now! The onsite sessions coupled with your no smoking cd really has allowed me to finally take control and be proud of myself for being able to do what I have wanted to do…stop smoking!! I am so grateful for your help!  Thank You!”  –Cal Ihler, Woodinville, WA

High-Five to the unconscious mind!  Good job, Cal.  If your New Year’s Resolution is to STOP SMOKING once and forever, call me.  As Cal will tell you:  Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP, it works!

Another Happy Camper: Seattle Client Reports Success with Mindworks Hypnosis

Hypnosis for Life Success, that’s Seattle’s Best: Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP.

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

I have a piece of paper in my office, and it’s been there since day one and my first client.  It says:  “You can change the world.”  It sits by a wooden block of letters spelling out the word:  BELIEVE.  Believe you can change the world.  Yes, I do hold that belief.

How do I know?  I get feedback from flesh and blood clients reporting life improvements from our work.  🙂  Here is another report just in from a Seattle man who came in for hypnosis, who wanted my help with business success.  He got what he came for.  And he expressed his gratitude in an email I received today.

“Hi Connie, Happy New Year to you!!! I feel really great, empowered, optimistic, and full of life. You were able to unlock the patterns that I had created for myself holding me back. Thank you. I will most definitely keep you in mind for myself and anyone I know that may need some help. May this be your best year yet. It’s going to be mine 🙂 B. D., Seattle, WA.”

Yay, B.D.  You go, boy!

I take my job, which is also my passion, very seriously.  And I am dedicated to doing what that piece of paper reminds me every day.  “Believe you can change the world.”  I do and I am, by helping improve lives, one mind at a time.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Seattle Hypnosis in the News!

Find what you’re looking for, with the best in Seattle hypnosis: Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP

There’s an article in the news today about forensic hypnosis in Seattle.  In a legal proceeding, a defendant will have hypnosis to retrieve information he cannot consciously access.

Per the L.A. Times:  “SEATTLE — A military judge has ruled that defense examiners can utilize hypnosis to help Army Sgt. John Russell penetrate the haze of amnesia”…regarding alleged criminal actions.

What I see as positive about this statement is the acknowledgement of the utility and power of hypnosis for memory enhancement and information retrieval.  Yes, it is.  Hypnosis is the real deal in accessing the mind and tapping into its storehouse of information.

I’ve used hypnosis for memory retrieval in my work at Mindworks Hypnosis as well.  These were not involvements with legal issues, but rather personal desires.  Finding things.  Lost, and then found– via hypnosis.  🙂  I’ve helped people recover lost items that they put somewhere then forgot where.  Consciously, it’s lost, yet the information remains in the mind, in the unconscious.

We found it.  Variously, for clients in Seattle, I’ve used hypnosis to recover a lost photo album, lost jewelry, lost money, lost deeds and legal documents, lost savings bonds, and also a lost rebate check  (that last mentioned mind-memory work was actually for me, it was a Costco rebate check for over $300).  I had NO idea where it might be, and yet I did remember it said on the check:  will not be replaced if lost or stolen.  Michael hypnotized me, and soon thereafter, I went straight to the check and retrieved it.

I told that story here:

https://mindworkshypnosis.net/hypnotizer/2010/12/thank-you-unconscious-mind-or-the-story-of-the-lost-costco-rebaterewards-check/

Yes, Seattle, hypnosis works!  For so many things.  Information retrieval is one of them.  I’m happy to see hypnosis recognized as a valuable tool by our legal system, because, yes, it is!

Warm Regards,
Connie

Now is Better than New Years for your Healthy Resolutions!

It’s time for change!

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

Why wait for New Year’s to begin making your life better?  Now is good.

The idea has been presented to us:  “New Year’s Resolutions” begin on January 1st.  So, I’m going to eat that pumpkin pie right now, and start my diet later!!  Well, January 1st is an arbitrary marker–life is day to day and today is just as important and you are just as important in your life today and tomorrow and the next day as you are on January 1st.

This is a fantastic time to start that new food and fitness plan.  Right now!  Why not get past the holiday tables and feasting with a healthy mindset that leads to lean instead of December weight gain?  Wouldn’t that put you WAYYYY ahead of the curve come January 1st?

Hypnosis works for weight management.  And motivation to exercise.  And quitting smoking, and releasing stress, and the oomph to begin new projects, and so much more to improve the quality of your life in so many ways.  Discover it!  It’s your mind, harnessing your inner resources and power, to move you in any direction you want.  That’s hypnosis!  It’s super cool, and it’s for everyone.

If you’re ready to begin the journey to healthy changes, I’m ready to help.  Call me at (425) 564-8608 and we’ll get going.  Now is good!

Warm Regards,
Connie

Goodbye Depression, Unwanted Pounds & Negative Emotional Responses — With Mindworks Hypnosis

More Success with Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP

Hello, Hypno-Friends!

Change doesn’t happen in a vacuum.  It happens in a LIFE.  And any particular aspect of life has fingers that stretch, and touch, and intertwine into all aspects of life.  In short, when one positive change happens, more positive changes happen in other areas, it just tends to roll that way!

Ask Karel Creason of Bellevue, WA.  She’s had life improvements all across the board through her Neuro-Linguistic Hypnotherapy sessions with me.  “Depression.”  Excess weight.  Negative emotional responses to situations.  GONE!  I got her success report today:

“Hello, Connie,

I want to give you an update on the changes in my life since I saw you in February 2012.

I have continued to benefit from my freedom from depression.

I have been able to pursue and complete a good, healthy diet program that allowed me to lose 21 pounds…Without your help, I would still not have been able to get on this particular bandwagon.  Thank you so much.

I also have been able to handle a number of emotionally difficult situations which, in the past, would have had me reeling. What a great improvement. I no longer become paralyzed with grief, fear, or anger when I learn of family illness, marital problems, self-esteem issues, etc.

These changes are because you told my subconscious what to do to make me live the way I want to. I have always held to your phrase that if something I think or believe isn’t useful in my life, get rid of it. What a concept!

In addition to letting you know how I’m doing myself, I wanted to let you know that I referred 2 of my friends to you, and they both have reported great happiness with what you did for them.”

     — Karel Creason, Bellevue, WA”

Yay, Karel!  Here’s another unconscious mind that deserves a series of hi-fives!!

Warm Regards,
Connie

PS:  Remember, your life can change, too, whenever you’re ready to make it happen.  Call me.  Karel’s is not an unusual result. You know on those ridiculous “take my diet pill” weight loss ads they have small print which says:  “results not typical.”  Well, with my brand of Neuro-Linguistic Hypnotherapy, results like Karel’s ARE typical.  Check out the many testimonials I’ve earned at http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net.

How Do I Find a Good Seattle Hypnotherapist?

“How do I find a good Seattle Hypnotherapist?” I’m a Team Member representing the professions of hypnosis and NLP Neuro Linguistic Programming on a popular internet forum board. I’m often asked for advice on finding and choosing a hypnotist. Someone who’s “the real deal,” and not an unskilled fly by night.

Yes, the true, skilled, passionate “this is my life” successful hypnotists are out there. This is how you find them.  Word of mouth is great, but failing that, you’re going to be looking at the internet.

Focus on the focus.  It’s all comes down to a person in my profession’s focus and primary goal. Is it about marketing ploys and making money, or is about the joy of developing a skill set and making client successes? When you look at a person’s web presence, and/or meet them face to face, you’ll be able to notice the difference. I call it puff vs. passion.

Here’s a direct quote from a hypnotist visiting my forum board who said his goal was marketing himself for “truckloads of clients”: “I WANT MONEY AND LOTS OF IT. I WILL TRADE MY WIFE FOR MONEY. I WILL BETRAY GOD FOR MONEY. I WILL SELL MY KIDS. I HATE CLIENTS AND I DON’T CARE ABOUT ANY OF THEM. I WOULD EVEN GIVE MY MOTHER A PHOBIA AND CHARGE HER A “TRUCKLOAD OF MONEY” TO GET RID OF IT. I DON’T CARE.”

This attitude disturbs me greatly. Hypnosis is a helping profession, and people with such a money grubbing focus shouldn’t be in it.  It’s not about the “dough re mi” for me. It’s about doing something worthwhile, and making a difference in people’s lives. I figure that the financial rewards are a given, if I devote myself to the pursuit of excellence and helping people achieve their goals and their potential.

This guy quoted above:  I’m sure he’s hired a good SEO (search engine optimization) person to help him get ranked high on Google–because that’s what it’s about for him.  Or he’s paying for Google ads.

Here’s a tip:  Ignore those paid ads.  In my opinion, many times those listings at the top of the google pages which are highlighted as “paid ads” tell me the person is either brand new and/or not very good.  The real deal people rise in those listings as an “organic search” because of the substance and quality and CONTENT of their website.  My listing is organic.

Here are a few more clues to find a serious professional hypnotist vs. an unskilled hypnotist.

Certifications. I know it’s difficult for the lay person to know the difference between “printed this in my basement” certificates from newly created fake “professional orgs” vs. the real trainings that a professional would have from respected sources. Here’s a clue, the number and dates of certification. A dedicated professional keeps learning, and would have a variety of trainings under their belt. Studying a website, do your research on the hypnotist’s credentials.

Check out the organizations listed. How long have they been around and continuously active? Are they national? International? How many members, tens vs. thousands?  I’m a member of the NGH (National Guild of Hypnotists). We have been around since the 1950’s–it’s the oldest and most well respected professional organization for hypnotists in the US. If they are hyping an NLP certification, find out if it’s through Dr. Richard Bandler or John Grinder or Steve Andreas. Those are the originators of NLP. Other “schools” (some legitimate, some a joke) offer far lesser versions of this power. The real deal people have paid the training bucks and spent the time honing their craft. And continue to do so.

Testimonials. How many, and in what form? Do they ring true? Do they contain details? Real clients don’t sing praises in generics, they tell stories.

Does the hypnotist share their passion and their interest in hypnosis on their website through a “blog?”  Does it seem to be a real blog or a fake blog?  Does it have any original content, or just recycled stale articles written by somebody else that may or may not be on topic but have some keywords in them for the search engines?  Do they create it  themselves, or do they just pay some outsourcer $5 for silly entries like “What is a hug?”  How frequently do they post?  A blog (like mine here) is another indicator of passion.  I LOVE hypnosis, I LOVE my blog, and I love writing and sharing my passion with you.

More things to examine to find the perfect Seattle hypnotist.  How long has a hypnotist been in business.  If you can’t find any history, that’s a red flag.

Are they registered with Washington State Dept. of Health as a professional hypnotherapist?  To do business in our state, that’s a legal requirement.

Are they an Accredited Business with the Better Business Bureau?  This shows a dedication and commitment and adherence to ethical business practices.  If they are with the BBB, what is their ranking?  Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP is an accredited business with the BBB, with an “A” ranking.

In any profession from auto mechanic to teacher to doctor to hypnotherapist, there are the “real deal” professionals and the also-rans.  “How do I find a good Seattle Hypnotherapist?”  Here’s one last tidbit to help you.  TRUST YOUR UNCONSCIOUS MIND.  I recommend meeting your prospective hypnotist face to face.  Intelligence shines.  Passion shines.  Trust your gut as to whether or not this person can help you.  If anything feels “off,” run for the door.

Hypnosis works.  Best in the hands of a skilled and passionate and professional practitioner.  They’re out there.  Me, for example.  My husband, Michael, for another.  Call us and meet us, check out our credentials, judge for yourself, and find the best hypnotherapists in the Seattle area.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Limiting Beliefs – Be Gone!

Unleash your amazing, with hypnosis.

“You is amazing!”  — says Lucky Larry, an animated character of my acquaintance.  He waves his arms, a beautiful chorus sings behind his words, and he congratulates the winner:  “YOU is Amayyyyzing!”  Hey, I take wisdom anywhere I find it, even if it’s grammatically incorrect.  Today I told a client about Larry and his words:  “You is amazing!”  Yes, she is.

Client had a limiting (and ridiculous) belief:  “I’m not smart enough.”  Sound familiar to any of you out there?  Well, with Neuro Linguistic Hypnosis processes, we healed her of that notion, past present & future.  Ripped every shred of it out of her life.  She also had held a secret fear of future dementia, which runs in her family.  Goodbye to that idea.  In our work, we innoculated her brain against future dementia, as well.

Reconnecting someone to their own brilliance and power.  Safeguarding a brain!  Sounds like a worthy way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon.

“Limiting beliefs.”  That’s hypnosis jargon for any thought, idea, sensation which makes a person feel bad and holds them back from their goals.  “I’m not smart enough.”  “I’m not good enough.”  “I can’t do it.”  “It’s too difficult.”  “I’m not worthy.”  Limiting beliefs suck.  If you’d like yours to be removed and replaced with more useful beliefs, we can do that!

I love my work.

Fear of Germs and Fear of Vomit Vanish with Mindworks Hypnosis of Seattle.

End fear with Seattle’s most skilled Hypnosis & NLP – Mindworks Hypnosis

Hi, Guys!

I’ve been working with children lately.  It’s good to fix a problem early in life, rather than suffer for decades.  I wish I had known about NLP® in my early life, it would have spared me decades of fear.  I had arachnophobia.  Fear of Spiders.  Until I didn’t.  NLP® fixed that problem in my life six years ago.

Here’s a report from the mom of an 11 year old girl who had obsessive fear and panic around vomit and germs.  I worked with the girl recently.

“Hi Connie, Today I went to pick her up at school and she was all smiles.  She said that a friend of hers threw up and she was ok. She touched the “magic spot” on her hand and that completely calmed her down. She said that she was more worried for her friend than for herself.  This is a big milestone for her and you can see it just by looking at her today: pure happiness.  Thanks again.”  F.T.,  Bellevue, WA.

Yay!  That’s what I like to hear.  “Pure happiness.”

By the way, the “magic spot” is an NLP® anchor we created and set for her, so that the girl can feel how she wants to feel instead of fear.  Children love magic buttons.  I have a few myself.  🙂

What are you or your loved ones afraid of?  Choose something else.  Called “not fear.”  With a suitably skilled NLP® person, guess what?  It’s easy.  Michael and I are Licensed Trainers of NLP®.

You can end fear now.  Call for your free consultation to learn more:  (425) 564-8608.  http://www.seattlehypnosisforphobias.com

The Snowball Effect – Positive Changes Grow with Mindworks Hypnosis

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

“My life has improved across the board!”  Michael has received a wonderful testimonial of his clinical changework utilizing Neuro Linguistic Programming.  Watch this video.  It’s longer than most, because Margot here has a LOT to say about how her life is noticeably improving.

Michael worked with this lady, and helped her with a fear of travel, and also turned “boring moments” of her life into excitement.  Boring is an attitude, a state of mind.  Change your mind and you change your life.  Michael helped her to recognize life as an exciting adventure.  And it is, for her, more and more.  Listen!  Watch!

Margot has noticed improvements in public speaking, comfort, teaching, socializing, work, travel.  Life is fun (and exciting) again.  Suddenly, adventures materialize to meet the expectations — life has a way of doing that!!  Margot here is more open to opportunities, now she NOTICES them, and that gives her more.  Nudges towards adventure.  She’s been acting on them.  Yay, Margot!

When you make positive changes in your life, many things are touched and improve as well.  NLP is a powerhouse avenue to positive changes.  It’s been described as “hypnosis on steroids.”  Yes, it is.  Look at this lady’s life transformation–spoken in her own words, after a few minutes of changework with Michael.

I have a friend who says:  “If it’s true, it ain’t bragging.”  I’m not bragging when I say Michael and I are GOOD at what we do.  Very, very good.

Michael is also available (as am I) for client sessions.  Call us:  (425) 564-8608 and discover the most effective hypnotherapy in the Seattle area and beyond.  No brag.  Just fact.  🙂  Ask Margot.

Warm Regards,
Connie

It’s in Bellevue, Washington, at the Bellevue Coast Hotel (right off of NE 8th St and I405) on Saturday, January 28th. It runs 8 am til 5:00 pm and includes a free continental breakfast and a free comedy hypnosis show and free hypnotic lectures and opportunities for group trance experiences. We are so happy to be co-sponsors of this event.  One of my personal goals is to bring the good word on hypnosis to a larger public awareness.  Hypnosis is really amazingly successful, and if more people knew about it, REALLY knew, it would become much more mainstream for making healthy changes.

Michael’s and My Excellence Quest – More Fun and More Learning!

Hi, Guys!

I’m so excited.  Today is a day of FUN, and learning.   Those are one and the same thing in my book.  🙂  Michael and I are taking advantange of a rare opportunity to learn today from one of the best hypnotists in the US, Don Mottin of the National Guild of Hypnotists.  He’s in Seattle offering a course in client-based weight loss.

National Guild of Hypnotists
National Guild of Hypnotists

Now, hypnotic weight loss is already my expertise, but you can ALWAYS learn more, fine tune and enhance skills.  Michael and I are members of the National Guild of Hypnotists, the oldest, and best recognized Professional Organization for hypnotists in the US, and as such we have a committment to continuing education.  This is a piece of that!!  Learning more.  Yay!

I don’t settle for good, I want to be the absolute best hypnotist I can be.  Learning is a never-ending process, and a never ending joy.  Last year Michael and I attended two of Don Mottin’s live training courses:  Rewiring the Brain For Stroke Survivors and Pain Management–all full of useful ideas that I have incorporated into my work.  More learning with Don = more excellence for me, and better results for my clients.  That’s what it’s all about.

Pearls of wisdom.
Pearls of wisdom.

We just had Halloween (one of my favorite holidays).  Here is how I see learning.  It’s like trick or treating!  (Honestly, some programs I’ve spent money on are a trick, not a treat!)  Don is a treat.  He’ll be offering up a basket of cool ideas like a basket of gems and pearls.   I prefer a basketful of ideas to a basketful of snickers and M&Ms and jelly beans.  The currency of excellence here is creative imagination, not sugar.  I’ll take some!!!

Warm Regards,
Connie

It’s Time for Change!

Hi, Guys!

I found this pic today, and it’s so perfect. As a metaphor, and an idea. Yes, it’s now. And it’s now again. Wait. Wait for it…tick, tick, tick, tick…now it’s now again. Grab ahold of NOW. It’s time for change.

Smokey Robinson is one of my favorite singers and songwriters. He wrote a song I really like called “More Love.” (Good title, good idea.) Some of the lyric goes: “Let it be soon. Don’t hesitate. Make it now. Don’t wait. Open your heart and let my love come in, I want the moment to start when I can fill your heart with more love, and more joy than age or time could ever destroy….” Smokey knows what’s important.

This could be a hypnosis song. Let the joy come in is right. Joy attached to positive and long-lasting change. Hypnosis opens a life to joy and a myriad of other good feelings. Good stuff. Do it now.

Wishing you a joy-filled now.
Warm Regards,
Connie

Stage Hypnosis – That’s Entertainment!

How many of you have ever seen a stage hypnosis show?  Did you wonder (as I did my first time experiencing hypnosis, which happened to be while watching a hypnosis show at the Puyallup Fair):  “What IS this???”  It’s called “stage hypnosis.”  It’s a show, or demonstration, for entertainment purposes, of the power of the human mind.  It’s fun.  Laughs.  Humor.  Amusement.  Amazement.  Did you ask yourself (as I did):  “Is it REAL??”

Yes!  It’s real!  These participants in the hypnosis are actually experiencing new realities.   For example, these new realities may involve differences in sensation.  As a hypnotic subject in a stage show, you may feel hot while imagining a warm beach, even though the room may be perfectly comfortable temperature.  You may experience differences in reality, like speaking a foreign language you have never learned.  Even Martian!  Differences in other sense experiences of the world, an onion may taste like an apple.  Differences in your identity.  You may begin singing and dancing believing yourself to be Elvis Presley.  What IS this?  It’s a freedom of expression and inner creativity.  In some cases, simply a license to act goofy.  How is the hypnotist MAKING the people do that?  They’re not.  The participants want to–they are volunteers!  It’s NOT mind control.

What does this have to do with hypnotherapy—the application of hypnosis to achieve positive changes in behavior and feeling and thinking?  It’s the same power of the mind.  The same power of the mind to create new realities.  Only, the changes are desired and useful, not silly, and good hypnotherapists make them stick.  Hypnosis.  It’s a GOOD thing!

Michael and I were in Las Vegas this past weekend, and we went to a stage hypnosis show.  And we enjoyed it!  The ones in Vegas tend to be adult humor, the ones you might see at the fair are family-oriented humor.  We love stage hypnosis.  In fact, we’ve both been trained professionally in stage hypnosis, as well as our other trainings.  In fact, we’ve both performed stage hypnosis–birthday parties and the like.  An understanding of the mind is useful, and all new information gathered is useful.  Learning stage hypnosis has made me a better hypnotist, adding to my skill set.

Some people think stage hypnosis is “bad” or less valuable.  Nope!!  Not at all.  It’s for a different purpose.  Laughter.  And it meets that well.  That’s entertainment!

Hypnotherapy is for life change.  Your positive changes in behaviors, thoughts, feelings to improve your quality and experience of your time on planet earth.  Stage hypnosis and hypnotherapy:  same animal, different saddle.

“Hooo” is ready for some positive changes?

He chose my tree!
He chose my tree!

“Tahooo, tahooo, a merry note!”  That quote is something Shakespeare-ian that Michael likes to say, but it’s also my imagination of an owl’s sound.

Owls!  My office is just south of downtown Bellevue, a minute beyond the land of skyscrapers and cityscape, but you wouldn’t know it from the views out my window.  You’d think you’re in a woodsy park.  Or, as a colleague recently called it:  “An enchanted forest.”  It’s a very wetlands.  The ducks and squirrels and rabbits are constant companions, but look who came to visit me this week, also!!  A giant wild owl.

Owl at Mindworks HypnosisHe was magnificent.  Dark gray, and sat in the tree right outside my office window most of the day.  You couldn’t miss him–I think he was two feet tall.  Riveting!  Beautiful.  Magical.

I’ve never seen a wild owl before in the flesh/feather, only zoo owls and stuffed ones in nature museums.

I love my office!  There’s a peaceful and warm energy there.  And so much green.  To me, this setting epitomizes LIFE.  Fresh, green, changing, alive, growth, movement, joy.  I wonder what that owl thought, sitting there watching me do hypnosis with my clients.  He looked relaxed, sleepy even.  Maybe the hypnosis bounced out the window and he could feel it, too.  🙂  He probably felt very comfortable, because that’s what hypnosis brings to a person.  Much the same list.  Comfort.  Life, growth, movement, joy, movement in desired directions.

It’s nice to love what you do and where you do it.  🙂

Have a wonderful Fourth of July weekend, everybody!

Love, Connie

PS:  I thought of a pun.  It’s groan-worthy!  🙂  Hypnosis for “owl” of your positive changes.

Why My Desk Drawer Is Full Of Cigarettes.

Hello, Hypnosis Friends!

It’s time to clean out my work desk.  It’s getting cluttered.  And it’s full of things I don’t want.  Nobody does.

Some formerly-smoking clients like to give me “gifts” as they’re leaving their Neuro-Linguistic Hypnotherapy session(s).  They hand me their last package of cigarettes, and say:  “I don’t need these.  I’m so done with cigarettes.”

I’ve been keeping these “gifts” for a reason.  Part of the work I do is TESTING.  How do we know the hypnosis is working?  The proof is the pudding and you, my clients, are the pudding.  How do you respond?  Is it different than when you walked in the door?

With a spider phobia client we go into the garden and look for spiders, so he/she can stick their face two inches from a spider and FEEL the difference.  Nothing.  Calm.  With a fear-of-heights client, we’ll walk into the open 2nd level atrium in my building and lean over the edge, and FEEL the difference.  Nothing.  Calm.  With a former smoker, he/she will hold the cigarette, smell the cigarette, look at the package, and FEEL the difference.  Zero interest.  Zero attraction.  Indifference.  Or, as useful, disgust, as in “I don’t want those.”

So I keep these packages of cigarettes around for testing.  But I don’t need so many packages in my drawer.  I’ll just keep one.

Other “gifts” include tins of chewing tobacco, and various packages of candy.  Clients have handed them over telling me that they’re choosing healthy instead.  I have some in my drawer, and it’s also a nice test for ME–someone who was a “candy addict” for decades upon decades.  I test me, and no, I have zero interest  in eating that candy.  Forgetaboutit!  Good thing, too.  Because I’ve re-shaped my body with hypnosis and I intend to keep it that way.

HYPNOSIS WORKS!  What do you want to remove from the “drawer” to create your happy life?  Come see me.  I’ll help you declutter from the things you don’t want. Call me and learn more: (425) 564-8608. Or check out one or more of my websites:

Goodbye, Fear of Heights!

Hi, Hypnotic Friends!

I get such warm, wonderful feedback from my clients, and those notes, emails, and communications make me happy.  Yay!  Success.  I fully expect a great result for my clients, as I do everything I can think of to make that happen, however it’s always nice to hear it from the horse’s mouth!  Periodically, I share those testimonials, because I want people to know.  YES, HYPNOSIS WORKS!  Fantastically well.

Here’s another success story that I received today, from a gentleman who is allowing me to use his name.  He’s in an industry and a career that involves continually working at extreme heights–and the fear was an issue.  No more.  We had one session together, and here is his report:

“Hello Connie,

Changes….  The evening of the session I was able to go up our step ladder two steps in the kitchen and stand on one leg. The weekend after the session, I spent some time at 45 feet in a small (hydraulic) lift and was much more comfortable than before…

I was also noticing that when I walk on catwalks or spend time on elevated platforms, I usually concentrate on work.  In the past it was nearly impossible because the fear was overpowering.  I’ve definitely made vast headway.  Thanks, you are the best!  — Blake Townsend.

What are you afraid of?  Michael and I can help shift that fear into something more comfortable.  Fear doesn’t always keep you safe, sometimes it makes you more unsafe, as in the man above.  His work calls for steady and focus, not panic.  If you have an unreasonable fear, hypnosis works!  Let me prove it to you!  http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net and http://www.seattlehypnosisforphobias.com.

I’ve worked with “phobias” as varied as fear of public speaking, fear of water, fear of “the wind,” fear of spiders, fear of snakes, fear of record stores, fear of driving, fear of flying, fear of fish, fear of overripe fruit, fear of noise, etc.  Fear can become attached to anything, and can also be easily un-attached!

Warm Regards,
Connie

Self Hypnosis – Another tool for life success!

Learning never stops!
Learning never stops!

Hi, Guys!

Bellevue College has a new location in North Bellevue, and I’m excited to be teaching my self hypnosis course there again.  Beginning next week!  It’s for two evenings, Monday, May 9th and Monday, May 16th.  Two evenings, twice the fun.  Twice the TRANCE-formation.  Learn something so powerful and cool.

The frame of this course is Healthy Hypnosis:  Let Go of Weight, and that’s terrific.  However, I want you to know that when you learn self hypnosis, these same tools are terrific for so much more than that tiny frame.  (Which you’ll achieve–a tiny frame–when you let go of the unwanted pounds through self hypnosis!)

In the bigger picture, here’s what it’s really about:  behavior change, feeling change, thinking changes.  Around so much, and so many different situations.  For example:  smoking cessation, sleep improvement, stress reduction, more motivation/less procrastination, better study habits, better golf, and more and more and more than that!

There’s still room available, if you’re interested.  And if you’re reading this, that means you are interested in hypnosis.  Here is a terrific and inexpensive way to get started with hypnosis.  Why not use ALL of your brain for a change?

Here are the class details and signup form (through Bellevue College’s Continuing Education program):

http://www.campusce.net/BC/course/course.aspx?C=11559&pc=1066&mc=1387&sc=

Healthy Hypnosis: Let Go of Weight

Imagine yourself in your “skinny jeans.” Hear the compliments of your family and friends. Like what you see when you look in the mirror! Feel the energy! The hypnosis skills taught in this workshop can help you unleash the infinite power within you to achieve all this! You’ll learn to reprogram your own mind to act in ways you desire: healthy choices, healthy eating, motivation to exercise. It won’t be a struggle, and it’s not a “diet,” it’s simply doing what you want to do. Your mind and your body will be working together–for your health!!

If you’d like to join me, please sign up!  You’ll be in for an enriching and exremely fun experience.  Hands on hypnosis.

An NLP “Anchor” In Action!

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

This is a VERY cute video.  It’s not just an adorable baby laughing as Dad tears up his job rejection letter…it’s more than that.  It’s an accurate and amazing illustration of ANCHORING.

I talk about anchors, and I use anchors all the time in my work.  It’s an NLP term.  (Neuro-Linguistic Programming, a high tech hypnosis.)  In this video, every time the baby hears/sees the paper rip, he immediately laughs uproariously.  EVERY TIME.  Stimulus, response.  Stimulus, response.  Same stimulus, same response.  Over and over and over again.    Simply explained, an anchor is an unconscious association that’s been created, a link-up in the brain.  This means that, this leads to that.  When it rains, I feel sad.  When I see a spider, I recoil in fear.  When I see a stop sign, my foot moves off the gas pedal.  When I smell chocolate brownies, I remember my mother.  Anchors!

Now, laughter is a wonderful thing to anchor.  Keep it!  When a response is less than desired, however, that’s where NLP comes in.  We can change our anchors.  Absolutely easily!  I worked with a gentleman with a debilitating fear of heights this past week.   That fear response, it was simply a learned response, an anchor.  I’m in a high place, and that means PANIC!  (Not anymore, after working with me!  Now it means calm, comfortable, confident, and clear-minded.)  What we do in NLP work, we help people break out of these unconscious patterns and install new anchors, for better and more resourceful responses.

People think they’re stuck.  They’re trapped.  They’re not.  NLP creates anchors, good ones, and replaces the non-useful ones.  I’d be happy to show you how.  As a client:  http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net or as a student:  http://www.seattlenlptraining.com.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Spring has Sprung!

New life!
New life!

Happy first week of spring!  I like the heavily transitional seasons best, fall, and spring.  Where things change.  Big time!  We’ve got TREES here in the Pacific Northwest, and that’s terrific.  Boy, did I miss them when I lived elsewhere in the country.  I lived in the desert for years (Arizona), and there was a dearth of trees.  Cactus don’t count!  Coming home to Seattle was such a refreshing and green experience!  Yay, Seattle!  🙂

Fall and spring.  Trees tell the story. Fall is the time of letting go, which the trees manage in abundance and with ease. And now it’s spring!  It is the further development of that process, the healthy fresh new life that comes as a result.  My neighborhood is rich with pink blooming trees right now.  Cherry blossoms, I believe.  Beautiful!  Beautiful!  Beautiful!  Where’s my camera?

If you’re ready for some fresh, healthy new spring in your life, there’s a way to do that!  It’s called…hypnosis.  Let’s grow you something alive and beautiful.  Something happy and bright.  Look around you.  It’s time!

Warm Regards,
Connie

It’s Self-Reinforcing

There are a lot of myths and misunderstandings about hypnosis out there, there being the minds of people.  It’s my job as a professional to set straight what I can.  The truth about hypnosis.  Yesterday I realized a new originating source of those misunderstandings – another local hypnosis provider.  They’re giving out misinformation to their clients.

They’re selling the idea that hypnosis is WORK, something the client has to do involving their thinking/conscious mind.  And do again, and do again.  They’re telling them they have to consciously remember, and plan and make time to DO something on a continuing basis for the hypnosis to be effective.  No!  Absolutely no.  A good hypnotist makes the change-work self-reinforcing.  I sure do.

I had a spider phobia for 30 years.  A phobia IS a type of hypnosis.  In a single experience, I hypnotized myself into believing that that tiny little insect was immediately life-threatening.  And my body would react.  I didn’t have to DO anything to keep that pattern running inside me for 30 years.  I didn’t have to remember to listen to a recorded tape every evening reminding me to remember to be afraid.   How unnecessary would that be?  VERY.

Patterns run in us until they are replaced by a new pattern.  Hypnosis/NLP installs a new pattern.  The new pattern runs.  And runs.  And runs.

Hypnosis changes the way you ARE in the world.  The way you live and breathe.  These changes are positive, healthy, and seamless.  They are inside of a person.  When done well, the change work feels natural and it fits with a person’s entire life.  The less your conscious, thinking mind gets involved in this process, the better.  You just find yourself thinking differently, feeling different, and doing different behaviors–all these congruent with your goals.

I’m not going to give you conscious-mind busy work to do and pretend that that makes the hypnosis “stick” better.  That idea does hypnosis a terrible disservice.

Warm Regards,
Connie

NLP Explained – What is Neuro-Linguistic Programming and how will it help me change my life? (Easily!)

Here’s another video! (I’m just a video makin’ machine today!!) 🙂

To experience life change with this methodology:
http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net.

To learn this life-changing methodology:
http://www.seattlenlptraining.com

NLP is a conversational, high-tech hypnosis…the most powerful change tool on earth.  It’s also been called “hypnosis on steroids.”  Absolutely.  This is the primary thing which has reshaped by body (minus 75+ pounds) and my life.  Do you think I’d have been comfortable and confident enough before NLP to make a video such as the above and chat to the world?  No way, Jose.  Do you think I’d be running my own businesses?  Perhaps, but I doubt as successfully.

NLP is a set of tools for life success.  This is what sets me above other hypnotherapists’ level of success–my NLP.  There are Practitioners of NLP, there are Master Practitioners of NLP, and beyond that level of skill, there are Trainers of NLP.   I’m a Licensed Trainer of NLP ™.  And, when you come to my office, what you’re going to receive is neuro-linguistic hypnotherapy.  In my estimation, the power of this blend and the postive changes achieved through this exceeds anything else I’ve ever heard of or experienced on earth.  I’d love it if you’d let me prove it to you.

Warm Regards,
Connie

More Truth About Hypnosis – Is it Sleep?

Hi, Guys!  Here is more truth about hypnosis. It’s NOT sleep. You may snore in hypnosis, you may drool, your body may be massively relaxed, but it’s not sleep. It’s a different state of mind/body, with different brainwave patterns. You go into hypnosis every day of your life, including on your way into and out of sleep. Learn more here: http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net/faq.html

Here’s me, talking about this!

Here’s more about the brainwave patterns themselves:

Stay tuned!  I’m editing several more educational (More Truth About Hypnosis) short videos.  They’ll also be available on youtube.  Here is my page there:

Happy Valentine’s to My Hypno Friends!

This is one of my favorite holidays…and really, what’s not to like?  It’s about LOVE.  Connection.  Hearts.  Chocolate (though I eat less of that nowadays).  Happy Valentine’s Day to my hypnosis friends.

I went to see Smokey Robinson perform live last night.  The man is ALL about love.  What a hypnotist.  🙂  I love Smokey Robinson.  If you want a taste of Smokey, there’s about 5000 performance videos of him on youtube.com.

If you want a taste of self-love, here’s something else for you to experience.  Self hypnosis.  Michael and I are offering an intensive, one-day self hypnosis workshop this Saturday, February 19th here in Bellevue, “Discover the Power of Hypnosis to Improve Your Life.”  If you’d like to read more about it, you can check out the details here:

http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net/whatsnew2.html

We’ve got a small group, which means “more hypnosis for you!”  We’d love it if you’d come and discover hypnosis for life success.  It really is truly amazing and powerful, and I run out of superlatives when I talk about it.  If hypnosis were a page on Facebook (it probably is), I’d click LIKE!!  More than like.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.  Which is why this day of love is a good time to talk about it.  If you love yourself enough to want more joy and success in your life, or would like to love yourself enough to want more joy and success in your life, here’s a tool for you.

In our workshop, you get to experience hypnosis, and we install an “instant trigger for trance” for you to return to that state when and where you want.  And that state is magic, where miracles happen, where you focus your mind on what you want and that part of your mind figures out how to get it!  We talk about goal formation, the language of unconscious influence, how to self-hypnotize, how to do a self-hypnosis session, and there will be hypnotic interludes aplenty.  FUN!!  LIVE.  HYPNOSIS!

Pre-registration is necessito, because space for this workshop is limited.  If you want in (the best Valentine’s gift you could ever give to anyone or yourself), call me right now, 425-564-8608.

http://www.seattlenlptraining.com.

Hey, it’s Valentine’s and if you are still stumped for the unique and loving gift for your significant other, well, this is something different, isn’t it??  🙂  AND something cool.  It’s an experience you can share together.

Much love to you all on Valentine’s and every day,
Connie

Just in Time for Valentine’s: Feel the Love, or…Effective Relating

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

I want to share something personal, and wonderful.  A milestone.  Michael and I have been married 25 years this month!  To celebrate, we took an extended weekend getaway, to Las Vegas, just the two of us!  And we renewed our vows to each other–signing up for the NEXT 25 years of happy love!  🙂  I do!  We did!

Here are some pictures from our Vegas adventure.  I’ve always wanted a Las Vegas Wedding, so this trip, we did it.  We found a chapel, and we did it!  For fun, we dressed up glittery, me in sequins, and Michael in velvet, and we found an “Elvis” to sing and officiate.  It was SO MUCH FUN!!

25th Wedding Anniversary

Love is very much a reason to celebrate.  Committed, ongoing, growing love…even more so.  Everyone we met kept repeating “25 years!  Wow!!  That’s amazing!! What’s your secret?”

I’ll tell you!

Successful relationships are all about relating (an action verb, not a stagnant THING, but a continuing evolution), and communicating.  Effectively!  Communicating what you want in a way that moves you towards your outcomes.  And maintaining appropriate emotional states which support those communications and outcomes, as well.  (In a significant-other context, it’s remembering and re-connecting with why you’re together and in love.)  Lots of people have trouble in this area, apparently.

Well, guess what?  Hypnosis works, for this as well as for so many other things.  A good relationship, be it professional or personal, group-sized social interactions, or intimacy, it’s not luck.  It’s learning, and it’s choice.  I help people in their relating, all the time, helping with everything from sexual intimacy issues to anger to insecurity and more.   How do you want to be, how do you want to feel, how do you want to relate differently than what may be the present state of affairs?

I can help.  NLP and hypnosis are excellent tools for this.

This is kind of like my weight loss success story.  I walk the talk.  I know what makes a successful, fulfilling relationship.  I’m living it!  I wouldn’t trust a therapist or counselor who has been 2-times divorced and couldn’t develop or maintain a loving, long-term relationship to save their life.  You want THAT to guide you for healthy relating?  I wouldn’t.  Pick someone who is successful, and happy.  Someone who lives love and doesn’t secretly sneer at it as a pipe dream, and can help you craft yourself into effective relating states.  I know how.  Belief, and success, I’ve got both.  So can you.

If you’d like help with relating, call me  (425) 564-8608.  What a wonderful Valentine’s gift for you and your sweetie.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Hypnosis Expands the Boundaries of Your Thinking

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

Michael and I had some fun today, filming what we call “magic moments.”  They’re not hypnosis, per se, but they’re entertaining and they do illustrate something about hypnosis.  Watch this video carefully, and follow the directions to see something totally amazing!  You really do grow your brain with hypnosis, grow your resourcefulness, grow your joy, grow your life success.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Put a New Frame on it!

A problem is simply a frame of mind, a way of looking at things.  If it’s not a problem to YOU, it’s not a problem.  Think about flying on an airplane.  After all the hustle/bustle of travel arrangements, packing, airports, and etc. when I get on a plane, I settle into the seat and go:  “ahhhhhhhhh.”  Now it’s time to relax.  No worries.   All I have to do is sit here and enjoy myself.  Perhaps for someone else sitting down a few rows,  it’s churning turmoil inside, it’s white-knuckle time.  It’s visions of disaster.  It doesn’t have to be.  You can change your mind.  And experience life differently.  Yes, about flying, and pretty much about ANYTHING!  That’s what hypnosis can do!  It’s called “reframing.”

Perhaps you’re skeptical about those statements.   Here’s a few recent examples of reframing from my life, for further illustration.

I got caught up in the shopping frenzy last week.  My husband and I were at the mall, and I found a shirt I loved.  The color in particular was appealing to me.  Hypnotists have an “inside joke” about the color purple being hypnotic, because one of the most famous and successful hypnotists in the world, Milton Erickson, was fond of wearing bright purple jumpsuits.  Color analysis books describe purple as the dreamer color.

I found a purple shirt.  Not just any old purple, this was a rich, deep royal purple, a magically hypnotic jewel-tone purple.  I was excited to find it, and on sale!  🙂  As I was checking out at the department store, the clerk commented on the “grape” shirt.  Grape?  Yikes.  I almost put it back.  I don’t want a grape shirt, as that sounds utterly unappealing.  Purple, yes.  Grape, forget about it!  One word flipped my state of mind about the shirt, and not in a good way.  She reframed my shirt (negatively) and almost lost the sale.  This is something we teach in our NLP for Sales courses, how to reframe in a way that sells, not creates aversion.

Here’s another example of reframing.  This is a sign.

Crosswalk Sign

Perhaps you’re familiar with it.  It indicates a pedestrian crosswalk.  It’s a stylized guy crossing the street.  You can see that.

Here is a sign I saw today in a parking garage.

Pedestrian Crossing

They’ve shifted the sign slightly, and the meaning massively.  What it thinks it’s saying is “pedestrian crossing,” but what I see is a pedestrian falling, and flying through the air, obviously after being struck by a moving vehicle.  Yikes, again!  A different angle on the picture, and the whole meaning changes.  That’s reframing.

Here’s a classic example of reframing.  Imagine a roaring fire in a fireplace.  That elicits positive feelings, right?  Cozy, nice, warm.  Now, expand the picture’s parameter, and you see the house is on fire as well.  Oh, no, run for your lives!  Negative feelings.  Now expand the picture further and you see it’s all a movie set and they’re only filming a controlled reproduction of a house fire.  Positive feelings, again.  A shift of frame changes everything.

What makes this “reframing” process cool of course is changing things that are problems in your life to non-problems.  Like the fear of flying.  What if your experience of planes and flight became a frame of relaxation, like lounging on a tropical beach or sitting in your easy chair at home?  Hypnosis can do that.

Big secret:   How we feel and how we respond to things and the thoughts/frames we create around them:  it’s all moveable furniture.  Within our control.  If you want to rearrange your mental furniture in a way that creates more beauty and ease  and success in your life, I can help.  That is my gig.  My passion.  My joy.  Come see me and we’ll reframe those problems out of existence.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Rewire the Brain Through Hypnosis

RewireHi, Hypno Friends!

Well, Michael and I attended another hypnosis training event this past weekend, because it’s always a good idea to learn more and increase skills.  It was fantastic!  As you may have noticed from my conversations here (and that’s what this blog is, me thinking out loud), I CARE about hypnosis.   And being good at it.  I LOVE hypnosis.  I live hypnosis.  I want to share the good word on hypnosis.  It is so positive and so powerful, so healing, and so mis-understood and underappreciated it the world.  (You may enjoy my blog entry on “Hollyweird.”)  https://mindworkshypnosis.net/hypnotizer/?p=202.  People are influenced by movies, TV, popular culture–and those media do not always portray the reality of hypnosis.

So, I have two stories I want to share in this blog entry.  1.  My recent efforts to combat “Hollyweird” by giving my professional input into a performance involving hypnosis and 2.  More about my hypnosis training and the cool and valuable things I learned there–how to help rewire the brain, specifically for stroke survivors.  However, rewiring is also applicable for so much more than that.  We also enhanced our knowledge on how to alleviate pain with hypnosis, and “emergency hypnosis” for those life and death situations such as car crashes or dealing with burn victims.

Story 1.  I had a fun new gig.  I consulted for a theater company.  They’re putting on a play in the Seattle area and it involves a scene of hypnosis.  They wanted to get it right, be authentic, so they contacted me.  I was happy to help.  I met with the director and several actors and explained the truth about hypnosis, what it is, how it feels, what it can do.  They acted out the scene for me and I critiqued.  (So much fun!)  More than just describing, I also hypnotized them to experience it live and first hand.  Because, experiencing is believing.  They’re believers now.  In the positive power and magic of hypnosis.  Yay!!  Take that, Hollyweird!  🙂  And Hollyweird’s continuing saga of evil, thieving, murdering, insane hypnotists with their armies of hypno-zombie slaves.

Here’s an entertainment source putting a more accurate depiction out there.  I approve!  Here’s the play, by the way, if you’re interested.  It opens this Friday:  http://thatgtheatre.com/now.html.  The play is “Shoreditch Madonna.”

Story 2.  Don Mottin 001 Cropped EnhancedMore about the training.  It was two days of continuing education, put on by the NGH (National Guild of Hypnotists, which is the oldest, largest and most respected professional organization of hypnotists in the US) and Michael and I both attended.  Yay!  We now have more tools to help with pain management, emergency hypnosis, and helping stroke survivors.  We learned to rewire the brain through hypnosis–which is something we do on a daily basis anyway, but now specifically targeted for helping stroke survivors.  After a stroke, there may be a loss of movement, vision, cognitive function, and so on.  These tools help stroke survivors to be more functional and regain capabilities!  A worthy goal, and wonderful hypnosis tools.

Here’s a picture of me and the instructor, Don Mottin.  Besides being a stroke survivor himself, He’s Vice President of the NGH.  That’s the national group, and we were darn lucky to have him travel to Seattle to offer this training.  It’s all in the family as Michael, my Michael, is President of our state’s local chapter of the NGH, the NGHWA.  http://www.nghwa.org.  One of the facets of the guild is to have a committment to continuing hypnosis education.  This is some of that!  Yes!  Learning, in my model of the world, is ongoing and forever.  That’s what I want and that’s what I do.  Learn and utilize.  My intention, of course, is to be the best and most helpful hypnotist I can be.  More tools is good tools.

If you know someone who has suffered a stroke, please do consider hypnosis and hypnotherapy as a tool to help them rewire their brain.  I know this works, and I’d be happy to work in conjuction with their medical MDs to enhance the healing process and regain their lives!

Warm Regards,
Connie

New Office!

Hi, Hypno Friends.

Some people like new and exciting adventures, and some people like familiarity in events–lucky for me, I like both.  I’m getting both.

Heavy on the “new” actually.  I got some new trainings under my belt.  Florida.  July.  FANTASTIC experience.    The sameness was experiencing again my favorite teacher, Dr. Richard Bandler.  And also new but not so exciting, my primary/business computer crashed a week or two ago.  Died.  At least it was quick, no suffering.  Dead as a doornail.  I’m still reconstructing the missing data since my last system backup in June.  So, I have a new computer.  Which is a good new!  🙂 Fancy.  A TERRABYTE of space.  I remember 65 megabyte computer hard drives.  This is better.

I also have a new office.  Best “new” of all.   Like my computer, it’s also more space than before!  It’s a beautiful, larger, quieter, more private space.  Absolutely perfect.  I’m going to plaster pics and announcements of the “new digs” on the website proper when I get my programs back re-installed to do so.  It’s not quite all set up yet, or “dolled up” as my grandmother would say, but it’s lookin’ good!

Here are a few pics:

Office

I'm in Alderwood #103
I'm in Alderwood #103

It’s in the Bellefield Office Park right off of I405 on exit 12.  It’s a giant wetlands/greenbelt area, with 15 buildings or so on the property.  WOODSY.  I’m in the Alderwood Building.  #103.

I’m so excited!  The clients who’ve been in within the past couple days since we’ve been re-open for business all say:  VERY NICE!  It is.  🙂

The sameness here is a lot of my same touches:  my art, my desk, my books, my trance chair, my certificates on the wall, my plant.  I bought a plant at my last other world job before I had this joy filled career, and it was a tiny thing.  Now it’s huge, and has been repotted several times.  Just like me, it’s growing–in a good way.

Warm Regards,
Connie
