Hi, Seattle Hypnosis Friends!
One of the (ridiculous) myths of hypnosis is that it’s something dark and scary and otherwordly. Hollywood movies conjure up frightening images of hypnosis done by strange men wearing dracula capes in dim, shrouded basements. Accompanied by the sounds of maniacal laugher. “I control their minds!! I control their minds!!”
Uh, no! That’s not what it is.
The reality? Hypnosis is a type of super-accelerated effective communication. Ideas are shared with the problem-solving part of the mind, and it gets to work creating change. It’s comfortable, it’s fun, it’s pleasant. And professionals do it in professional spaces.
I’ve created a brief video below to share my Bellevue office space with you. I LOVE my office, it reflects how I approach this work. The key word is “professionalism.” Take a peek:
Some part-time hobbyist “hypnotists” in the Seattle area don’t think an office is necessary. They do sessions over the telephone, while they’re sitting in their bedroom painting their toenails. Here’s what I say about phone “sessions” on my FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions about Hypnosis) page:
“Hypnosis and NLP work is most effective face-to-face, which is why we don’t recommend internet or phone sessions. We don’t go for “watered down.” We want your success! Our work is interactive communications, and very hands on. Verbal (sound) alone is a tiny, tiny bit of information being conveyed, we use the full spectrum of communications information, using ALL the senses, going in both directions. Some of our favorite and most effective NLP techniques involve touch. You can’t do touch over the phone. Hypnosis deepening techniques also involve touch.”
Effectiveness! Super important. Professionalism. It’s also super important. We’re talking about your mind and your life and your goals being met. You want someone fully committed to this work and your success. A hypnotherapist who maintains a private, professional office space is a positive indicator that you’ve found someone who is serious about the work. Hypnosis (and that includes NLP) is my full-time career, my passion, not just something I’m doing “on the side” for a few bucks, like others in the Seattle area. Those people are hobbyists. Not real hypnotists. Not professionals.
When I was shopping for office spaces in the Seattle area, I was shocked at how many spaces were drab and dreary and noisy. Shared spaces. Closed-in rooms, with no light and no positive energy. Not acceptable! I chose a totally private office in Bellevue, it’s a positive energy space, in a beautiful, green park-like setting, close to the city and freeways and yet has a serene feel of “a world away.” And I’ve filled my space with life and color and many, many pieces of fine art. This is a space where I do “my art.” That’s hypnosis and NLP and more.
Come see the hypnosis office in Bellevue for yourself. We do offer free private in person consultations. Like anything, it’s more beautiful in person.
All the Best,
Connie
