Claustrophobia Ended With Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP

Goodbye to Claustrophobia with Seattle’s best hypnosis.

Hi, Guys!

I love my inbox.  It’s filled daily with happy stories, the kind that make me smile.  🙂  Today’s happy story is Diana of Bellevue, WA.  She came to me with severe claustrophobia.  Her anxiety happened in planes, elevators, cars, anywhere she felt confined.  That’s over, now.

“Thanks a bunch for all that you’ve done for me. I’m so impressed with your skills and am fascinated by NLP and hypnosis. Both topics are very much outside the realm of what I know, but are amazing in their ability (in talented hands) to deliver such positive change in a person’s life.”  — Diana, Bellevue, WA.

Her life has opened up, now.  Good job, Diana!  Good feelings, where there used to be fear and anxiety.  And the freedom to live a more full life.

That’s the power of skilled Neuro Linguistic Hypnotherapy™.  And the best place to find that in the Seattle area?  Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP.  I’m a Licensed Trainer of NLP® and that means I’m the best in Seattle and in fact, in this part of the country.  Dr. Bandler (co-originator of NLP) has 31 Licensed Trainers of Neuro-Linguistic Programming® in the entirety of the US, that’s all.  Licensed Trainers are the top of the hierarchy in training and skillset.  I’m one.  Michael is another.  That means, we’re good.

Diana agrees!  Find out for yourself any time:  http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net

What is Hypnosis About?

Albert Einstein was one smart cookie!  🙂

What’s it all about?  Resourcefulness!  Hypnotherapy is simply a methodology for changing your thinking, and seeing things in a new way, and thus changing everything.  When you change how you think, you change how you feel, and what you are able to do in the world.

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of mind, and what I call “infinitely resourceful.”  Within hypnosis, you are able to tap into new thinking inside your own mind.  Hypnotherapy is the targeted application of this state for desired behavioral changes.

When you are “stuck” in a problem or way of thinking, you don’t see the solutions which are available.  With hypnosis, you see those things, and you are able to grab them, and implement them in your life.  You become UNstuck.  You feel more successful, and you become able to create positive changes in tangible ways.  Changes such as reshaping your body, reshaping your habits, reshaping how you see yourself and your power in the world.

The mind does control everything.  That’s my belief and I know it to be true.

Warm Regards,
Connie

When Disgust is Useful

I bought some chicken yesterday from a local supermarket deli.  Got it home, and opened the packaging.  Found THIS!  Yikes.  Battered and fried feathers.

Something wrong with this chicken wing!
I’m not eating feathers.

How repulsive, obviously they lacked the big picture on plucking the chicken before you cook it.  If you look up the word “grotesque” in the dictionary, this chicken wing could be there.  I didn’t even want to touch this thing, but I had to, to toss it into the garbage can.  I’m not eating THAT!!  Ick, and yick!

In my Neuro-Linguistic Programming work with clients “ick and yick” can be useful.  People come into my office wanting to stop smoking.  People come into my office wanting weight loss, which means, behaviorally,  eating less  to no sweets, pastries, cookies, chocolate, candy of all varieties, brownies, twinkies, donuts, ice cream, sugary sodas, french fries, potato chips and other carb-laden, junky processed foods that pack on the poundage on the body.  I can help with that!  Ick and yick finds a home.

When I was a kid my mom tried to make me eat liver.  It’s a nightmarish recollection.  I hate liver.  As an adult, I would never choose to eat liver, because it’s horrendously repulsive, in looks, taste, smell, in every way invented.   My response to the thought of liver is this:  “get it away from me!  No way in hell is that thing going into my mouth!”  Like that chicken wing yesterday.

With NLP we can take this feeling “get it away from me, ” capture it, and attach it to anything, where it’s useful to do so.  We can attach it to chocolate.  To cigarettes.  To brownies.  To anything.  If you don’t like it, you’re not going to eat it, or smoke it.  This is called “aversion” anchoring.  It’s another piece of the work, and it helps!  On the flip of away from, I create good feelings that people prefer over cravings, things like calm, happy, joy, satisfied, healthy.  Towards something wonderful and away from something disgusting, now we have a propulsion system of change.

I walk the talk, and use the tools for my own success.  I took that chicken wing, and captured the revulsion, and now that’s how I feel about chocolate brownies (my former weakness).  I’m not buying or eating any brownies today.  None.  Not interested.  I’m not eating any brownies tomorrow, either.  Nor the next day.  When will I want brownies?  Possibly never.  And I’m OK with that.

This is called taking control of your life, and it’s a good thing!

Warm Regards,
Connie

Seattle Hypnosis Success Story: After 20 Years of Trying, Cal Quit Smoking with Mindworks Hypnosis!

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

More evidence in support of skilled hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) as a tool for life success.  Cal Ihler, here, quit smoking.  He had been trying unsuccessfully to end smoking for 20 years, meeting only with disappointment, with “hardship and stress.”

That’s as dead as the smoking habit, after working with us.  🙂  Cal reports that his new state is joy and happiness and the satisfaction of doing what he wants to do.  Hear it in his own words!

Yay, Cal!  Two months without cigarettes, soon to be 2 years, then 20 years, then his entire life as a nonsmoker.  The smoking habit will be a dim memory, lost in the mists of antiquity.

If you’re ready to REALLY get down and dirty and say “hell no” to cigarettes, well, these tools work.  Some people quit in a single session, and the change comes like “boom!!”  Instantaneous transformation.  Walk in a smoker, walk out, a nonsmoker.  Check out the testimonials here which support that.  Some people, like Cal here, take a couple or three sessions for success as the mind processes the changes at a rate of speed that is comfortable.

Bottom line:  change happens.  Success happens.

When you’re ready to quit smoking, and to enter a state like Cal describes:  successful and joy-filled and happy, call us!  🙂

Warm Regards,
Connie

NLP: Drive Your Own Bus

How would you rather feel?

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

You don’t have to be a master of calibration skills to notice that one of these twins is having a bad moment.  The “why” is irrelevant, what is very important to notice here is the WHAT.  Two twins, sitting together, one happy as a clam, the other in a very horrifically unhappy state.

What may not be apparent to you about each twin’s response:  It’s learned, and it’s a choice.

How a person responds to a moment of life or a situation is absolutely a choice.  The same exact circumstance can trigger any gamut of emotion and response from agony to ecstacy.

One person might see a snake and jump and scream and run, another person might see that snake and stare in fascination and wonder, another might pick it up and make it into a beloved pet.  One person might be stuck in a traffic snarl and put on a music CD and sing along, one car over a person in the same traffic snarl might grab a baseball bat and vent some road rage.

The stories and experiences of our life generate unconscious patterns of response.  And we can notice those patterns, and change them at will.  We can install new, more useful and desired unconscious patterns and responses in ourselves.  That’s NLP.   Neuro-Linguistic Programming.  New emotions and ideas that lead to new behaviors, and new beliefs, and vice versa.  And all of it leads to a life that we want, that we choose.  Success.

Dr. Richard Bandler, the co-originator of NLP, calls this work learning “to drive your own bus.”  Absolutely.  And part of that drive is:  “How do you want to feel?”  Choose something wonderful and useful for the situation.

The difficulty is finding or acquiring the NLP skill set that makes this happen.  Here in Seattle, you have two options.  You can find a skilled and licensed practitioner of NLP who will make short work of your unhappy and limiting beliefs and unwanted behaviors (like me:  http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net/), or you can learn NLP yourself from legitimate sources (like me:  http://www.seattlenlptraining.com/) and use the tools for your own life success.  I am a Licensed Trainer of Neuro-Linguistic Programming® and this is my passion.  Unlocking choice for people.

Stop Smoking, Seattle!

Stop Smoking, Seattle!  It’s good advice.  It’s also a website:  http://www.stopsmokingseattle.com/.  I have several websites that I’ve created, and this site is about hypnosis for smoking cessation.

Here’s an advertising video for my site:

On my many websites, I like to highlight the different things hypnosis is good for.  Short answer:  pretty much EVERYTHING.  Michael likes to say:  “If the brain is involved, hypnosis helps.”  Yes.

http://www.stopsmokingseattle.com has lots of good information about studies on hypnotic success with quit smoking.  Kind of like a battle royale, and hypnosis wins!  Hypnosis is more effective than other stop smoking tools:  nicotine gum, the patch, drugs, herbal remedies, acupuncture, and so on.  I also talk about all the chemicals that are in cigarettes, and how your body has the capacity to heal itself from the effects of cigarettes and the time frames involved.  It’s interesting stuff.

And primary, of course, on my hypnosis for stop smoking website, is the PROOF.  Seattle area people I’ve helped using hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) who agreed to let me share their success stories.  Actually, there are many providers of hypnosis in Seattle, with varying skill sets.  My advice:  Go for quality!  Go for proven success.  That’s me and Michael and our passion:  Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP.  It’s the best in Seattle hypnotherapy services.

If you yourself are interested in dumping tobacco use, or know someone who is, direct them to my website.  More people should know that skilled hypnosis is the best tool to stop smoking, and stay stopped.

Warm Regards,
Connie

What a Bendy Straw Knows and You Can Learn

Flexibility for the Win!

Everyone’s talking about “New  Year’s Resolutions.” But how do we actually create newness and change?

With  hypnosis and NLP, you can change how you think, and how you feel about things.  You can change how you see things, and even what you believe to be true.

And, all this leads to what’s really important: you can change your behaviors, change what you do in the  world. And what you don’t do.

I have a favorite quote from comedian, George Carlin. He’s talking about words and the perplexity of words.  We have words to describe burnability: something is flammable, something is nonflammable, or something is inflammable. Carlin says, why three choices?  “Either the thing flams or it doesn’t!”

That’s funny. That’s also called digital thinking. Yes, no, on off. When you change to thinking along a continuum, you open up an infinity of new choices. More choices, equals more flexibility, equals more success. In short, hypnosis finds and gives you more choice.

There’s an expression in NLP: “the one with the most flexibility wins.” Behavioral flexibility is the holy grail. It’s what we want and seek for our clients and ourselves. If you’re not flexible, you’re rigid, stiff, always doing what you’ve always done. You’re stuck! Lao Tzu (ancient philosopher) said: “Bend like a reed in the wind – that is the real strength.  The old hard tree breaks and falls when the wind blows.  The young tree bends and does not break.”  Hypnosis opens up unstuck, also called choice, also called flexibility.

Here’s a real world example. I had a client yesterday who gravely informed me that he’s an “addict” to cigarettes. Now, that’s a STUCK statement. He’s trapped! He’s done. Put him in his coffin. An addict can’t quit smoking, by definition. We used hypnosis & NLP to change how he sees himself, and when the label “addict” left, so did a restriction on his choices.

In one piece of our work, we asked the creative unconscious mind to come up with completely healthy alternative behaviors to replace smoking. The unconscious can do that in a heartbeat, and did. Now, there are many new options available to him,  behaviorally. And we enticed his mind to put those new choices into action. This pulled the rug out from under being “addicted” to smoking. Now he has the freedom to say “no way in hell” to cigarettes. And he did. We created a new nonsmoker yesterday.

If you’re stuck in a behavior, in a habit, a pattern, a way of thinking, feeling, or being that does not serve you…there are more choices than you can currently see. Hypnosis can open up that trap, let you out of the cage and into the sunlight of infinite  resourcefulness.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Another Happy Camper: Seattle Client Reports Success with Mindworks Hypnosis

Hypnosis for Life Success, that’s Seattle’s Best: Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP.

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

I have a piece of paper in my office, and it’s been there since day one and my first client.  It says:  “You can change the world.”  It sits by a wooden block of letters spelling out the word:  BELIEVE.  Believe you can change the world.  Yes, I do hold that belief.

How do I know?  I get feedback from flesh and blood clients reporting life improvements from our work.  🙂  Here is another report just in from a Seattle man who came in for hypnosis, who wanted my help with business success.  He got what he came for.  And he expressed his gratitude in an email I received today.

“Hi Connie, Happy New Year to you!!! I feel really great, empowered, optimistic, and full of life. You were able to unlock the patterns that I had created for myself holding me back. Thank you. I will most definitely keep you in mind for myself and anyone I know that may need some help. May this be your best year yet. It’s going to be mine 🙂 B. D., Seattle, WA.”

Yay, B.D.  You go, boy!

I take my job, which is also my passion, very seriously.  And I am dedicated to doing what that piece of paper reminds me every day.  “Believe you can change the world.”  I do and I am, by helping improve lives, one mind at a time.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Know Thy Enemy – the Little Discussed Other Problems Caused by Overweight

Hypnosis Helps with Weight Loss

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

Just in time for New Year’s Resolutions, obesity is in the news!  In short, more about what we all know:  it’s not healthy to be carrying around all this extra poundage on the body.  If you are struggling with this issue, perhaps you are blinding yourself to HOW unhealthy.  It’s a killer.

Here’s an interesting article from the Associated Press today, expressing how ignorant the general public is about the health risks of overweight.  See below.

What they aren’t saying, and SHOULD be headline news, is the fact that hypnosis is a fantabulous way to address overweight.  A REAL solution.  A lasting help.  Not ridiculous crap like bariatric surgeries.  We don’t want to get me started on that idiocy again… I’ve already shared my opinions about that here in the blog.

Here’s the article from the AP:

“Few Americans know all the risks of obesity  – by LAURAN NEERGAARD and JENNIFER AGIESTA |

WASHINGTON (AP) — Heart disease and diabetes get all the attention, but what about the many other ways obesity can damage your health?

Carrying too many pounds may lead to or worsen some types of cancer, arthritis, sleep apnea, even infertility. But a new poll suggests few Americans realize the links.

Only about one-quarter of people think it’s possible for someone to be very overweight and still be healthy, according to the poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

Ask about the most serious consequences, and more than 7 in 10 Americans can correctly tick off heart disease and diabetes. Heart disease is the nation’s leading killer, and diabetes and obesity are twin epidemics.

The other consequences aren’t so well known.

“People are often shocked to hear how far-reaching the effects of obesity are,” said Jennifer Dimitriou, a dietitian at New York’s Montefiore Medical Center.

Just 7 percent of people surveyed mentioned cancer, although doctors long have known that fat increases the risk of developing cancers of the colon, breast, prostate, uterus and certain other sites. Plus, being overweight can make it harder to spot tumors early and to treat them.

Then there’s the toll on your joints, especially the knees. About 15 percent of people knew obesity can contribute to arthritis.

High blood pressure, high cholesterol and strokes were fairly low on the list. Infertility didn’t get a mention.

Also, 5 percent put respiratory problems on the list. Studies show people who are overweight are at increased risk of sleep apnea and asthma, and that dropping pounds can help improve their symptoms.

Knowing more about the myriad ways obesity affects health could help motivate people to get more active and eat better before full-blown disease strikes, Dimitriou said.”

Seattle rain got you feeling SAD? Hypnosis helps.

I was born in Seattle, and I happen to LOVE the rain.   And rainy winters.  When I lived in Arizona I felt like a fish out of water, too much sunshine for me.  Not everyone shares my enthusiasm for Seattle’s climate, however.  Some people find dark, endlessly drizzly days depressing.  They’ve even given it a fancy name:  Seasonal Affective Disorder.  SAD.

If you find yourself sad or otherwise negatively affected by Seattle’s rainy winter, I can help.  I have tools to help you change your neurology (how you feel), which changes how you act.  Better feelings!  Hypnosis, it’s sunrise in a bottle, pink, and bright, and full of promise.  Newness and freshness.  If you’re tired of sad, we can change that.  Faster than you imagine.

Call me and you’ll be laughing in the rain.  I believe they made a song like that.  🙂  What’s useful about feeling better?  Everything.  When you change how you feel you change what you think, and what you can and do accomplish.

I offer a free consult to help you learn more about hypnosis as a powerful tool for personal change.  Call me!  (425) 564-8608.

Warm Regards,

Seattle Hypnosis in the News!

Find what you’re looking for, with the best in Seattle hypnosis: Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP

There’s an article in the news today about forensic hypnosis in Seattle.  In a legal proceeding, a defendant will have hypnosis to retrieve information he cannot consciously access.

Per the L.A. Times:  “SEATTLE — A military judge has ruled that defense examiners can utilize hypnosis to help Army Sgt. John Russell penetrate the haze of amnesia”…regarding alleged criminal actions.

What I see as positive about this statement is the acknowledgement of the utility and power of hypnosis for memory enhancement and information retrieval.  Yes, it is.  Hypnosis is the real deal in accessing the mind and tapping into its storehouse of information.

I’ve used hypnosis for memory retrieval in my work at Mindworks Hypnosis as well.  These were not involvements with legal issues, but rather personal desires.  Finding things.  Lost, and then found– via hypnosis.  🙂  I’ve helped people recover lost items that they put somewhere then forgot where.  Consciously, it’s lost, yet the information remains in the mind, in the unconscious.

We found it.  Variously, for clients in Seattle, I’ve used hypnosis to recover a lost photo album, lost jewelry, lost money, lost deeds and legal documents, lost savings bonds, and also a lost rebate check  (that last mentioned mind-memory work was actually for me, it was a Costco rebate check for over $300).  I had NO idea where it might be, and yet I did remember it said on the check:  will not be replaced if lost or stolen.  Michael hypnotized me, and soon thereafter, I went straight to the check and retrieved it.

I told that story here:

https://mindworkshypnosis.net/hypnotizer/2010/12/thank-you-unconscious-mind-or-the-story-of-the-lost-costco-rebaterewards-check/

Yes, Seattle, hypnosis works!  For so many things.  Information retrieval is one of them.  I’m happy to see hypnosis recognized as a valuable tool by our legal system, because, yes, it is!

Warm Regards,
Connie
