There’s an article in the news today about forensic hypnosis in Seattle. In a legal proceeding, a defendant will have hypnosis to retrieve information he cannot consciously access.
Per the L.A. Times: “SEATTLE — A military judge has ruled that defense examiners can utilize hypnosis to help Army Sgt. John Russell penetrate the haze of amnesia”…regarding alleged criminal actions.
What I see as positive about this statement is the acknowledgement of the utility and power of hypnosis for memory enhancement and information retrieval. Yes, it is. Hypnosis is the real deal in accessing the mind and tapping into its storehouse of information.
I’ve used hypnosis for memory retrieval in my work at Mindworks Hypnosis as well. These were not involvements with legal issues, but rather personal desires. Finding things. Lost, and then found– via hypnosis. 🙂 I’ve helped people recover lost items that they put somewhere then forgot where. Consciously, it’s lost, yet the information remains in the mind, in the unconscious.
We found it. Variously, for clients in Seattle, I’ve used hypnosis to recover a lost photo album, lost jewelry, lost money, lost deeds and legal documents, lost savings bonds, and also a lost rebate check (that last mentioned mind-memory work was actually for me, it was a Costco rebate check for over $300). I had NO idea where it might be, and yet I did remember it said on the check: will not be replaced if lost or stolen. Michael hypnotized me, and soon thereafter, I went straight to the check and retrieved it.
I told that story here:
Yes, Seattle, hypnosis works! For so many things. Information retrieval is one of them. I’m happy to see hypnosis recognized as a valuable tool by our legal system, because, yes, it is!
Warm Regards,
