Letting Go, Living Free: Real Stories of Hypnosis Success

Every day, I am reminded why I do the work I do. At Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP, I have the privilege of helping individuals break free from limiting habits, beliefs, and patterns—and step into lives of greater peace, clarity, and control.

One of my recent clients shared a testimonial on YELP that moved me deeply. With their permission, I’m sharing a portion of their words here:

“Connie is amazing and I would highly recommend her services to anyone wanting to take control of their life. I worked on eliminating smoking, reduced coffee consumption, aspects of OCD and misguided teaching I received by my family and church. I now live with significantly less guilt, shame and anxiety.”  — John R., Baker, OR.

What a powerful reflection of change.

This client came to me feeling burdened—by addictions, by anxiety, by guilt, by old programming that no longer served their well-being. And through our sessions together using the powerful tools of hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), he began to let go.

Let go of cigarettes.
Let go of compulsive behaviors.
Let go of the heavy emotional baggage placed on him by others.
Let go of shame. Let go of guilt. Let go of fear.

In its place?
Freedom. Choice. Calm. Clarity. Strength.

That’s the magic of this work. It’s not about “fixing” what’s broken. It’s about reclaiming your mind. Rewriting the stories that no longer fit. Reconnecting to your inner power—the one that was always there, waiting to be awakened.

If you’re feeling stuck, heavy, or out of alignment with who you know you’re meant to be—know this: change is possible. And you don’t have to do it alone.

The journey begins with a single choice. Choose freedom. Choose healing. Choose you.

Let’s talk.

Warmly,

Springtime for Hypnosis

The flowers bloom, the skies turn blue,
And change is in the air—it’s true!
As winter thaws and melts away,
Your mind wakes up to seize the day.

The sun returns with warming light,
And clears the fog of fear and fright.
Old habits fade like melting snow—
Now’s the time to let them go!

With every bud and buzzing bee,
Comes space to grow, and space to be.
Through trance and focus, deep and still,
You plant new seeds of thought and will.

So close your eyes and take a breath,
Release what’s stale, let go of stress.
A hypnotic breeze begins to blow,
It whispers, “Yes—you’re in the flow.”

We rewire thoughts, create new scenes,
With anchors, stories, guided dreams.
Designer Feelings®, handpicked bright,
Bring confidence, success, and light.

The garden of the mind is vast,
And spring ensures old patterns pass.
You’re not the same as months before—
You’re freer now. You’re something more.

So step into this season’s charm,
With open heart and open arms.
Because when spring and hypnosis meet,
The transformation is complete.

Come in and let’s get started.  Call me, 425-564-8608 and we’ll find a good time.  I have a private office near Factoria in Bellevue.

The Palindrome Power of 4-24-24

Palindrome Power: Reflecting Balance and Harmony with Hypnosis & NLP

Today’s date, 4-24-24, isn’t just another day—it’s a palindrome! A palindrome is a sequence that reads the same forwards and backwards, symbolizing balance, reflection, and harmony. It’s the perfect metaphor for what many of us seek in life: equilibrium in our thoughts, feelings, and actions.

The Symmetry of Self-Improvement

Just like today’s date, achieving symmetry in our lives is often easier said than done. We all have patterns and behaviors that seem to tip the scales one way or another, leaving us feeling off-balance and out of sync with our true desires. That’s where hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) come into play.

Mindworks Hypnosis: A Path to Inner Symmetry

Hypnosis works by accessing the subconscious mind, helping to align deep-seated beliefs with conscious goals. This alignment is much like creating a palindrome in your mind, where your thoughts and actions reflect each other perfectly, leading to a more balanced and harmonious life. Whether it’s managing stress, overcoming anxiety, or quitting smoking, hypnosis offers a pathway to rebalance your mental scales.

Mindworks NLP: Mirror Your Best Self

NLP takes the concept of reflection a step further by teaching you how to mirror the language and behaviors of those who embody success, happiness, or peace—qualities you may wish to enhance in your own life. By modeling these patterns, you create a symmetrical loop of positive feedback, continuously reflecting and reinforcing your ideal self.

Take the Palindrome Challenge!

On this special date of 4-24-24, why not take the palindrome challenge? Reflect on areas of your life where you desire more balance. Are your professional ambitions mirroring your personal growth? Do your daily routines reflect your deepest values? If not, consider this the perfect opportunity to explore how hypnosis and NLP can help.

Start Your Journey Today

Embrace the power of today’s palindromic date to start your journey toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. At Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP, we’re dedicated to helping you achieve the internal symmetry you need to reflect your best self out into the world. Let’s begin!  Call us to get started.  425-564-8608.

Why Limiting Beliefs Belong in the Trash Heap

Don't let limiting beliefs imprison your mind.
Don’t let limiting beliefs imprison your mind.

Hi, Hypnosis & NLP Friends!

People often come in to my office for very specific habit and behavioral changes.  “I want to quit smoking!”  “I want to stay away from the sugar!”  And so on.  We can do that. However, in the course of doing that, we do more.  We change larger mind sets and ways of thinking about self and the world by removing limiting beliefs.

What is a limiting belief?  It’s an idea/feeling about self and the world that gets lodged in the brain that limits a person.  It limits their full expression and enjoyment of life.  Examples:  “I’m not good enough.”  “I can’t do it.”  “I’m not worthy.”  “No one could love me.”  “I’m a victim in the world.”  These are not truths about anyone.  These are ideas, that can and should change.

Here’s an analogy.  Imagine getting a rock caught in your shoe.  It makes walking difficult. It hurts!  You COULD continue to walk with it in there, and suffer more.  But why? Why not take your shoe off for a moment, and shake it out!  Put your shoe back on and life is immediately more comfortable.  Suddenly you can go places, and it’s easy.

A person’s limiting beliefs are probably the most nasty, destructive things I encounter in my NLP and hypnotherapy help work.  They negatively impact every aspect of a person’s life, personal and business relationships, financial success, health, learning, and so on! This is precisely why I love helping a person to remove them so much. Limiting beliefs are garbage, and they belong in the trash heap!  That’s an essential part of the work we do–put them there.

We can remove a lifetime of limiting beliefs in a session or two of Neuro Linguistic Hypnotherapy.  Amazing, but true.  These changes are the REAL changes, the power changes.  The behaviorial changes (I lost weight or I quit smoking) are really a lesser deal. They are simply a byproduct of new empowered beliefs.

When you’re ready for change, call me.  In my extensive Q&A with clients, I discover any limiting beliefs–and in the course of our work we get rid of them.  It’s trash day!

Hypnosis for New Year’s Resolutions

Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP for your New Year's Resolutions
It’s time for hypnosis!

Hi, Hypnosis Friends!

In addition to our hypnotherapy and NLP clinical work in the Seattle area, we also teach through our private career school.  And we’ve had some fabulous students over the years. Here is a post for “The Hypnotizer” by a guest blogger, my student, Alexa Ritter.  Alexa is an amazing hypnotist and Licensed Master Practitioner of NLP®

Enjoy Alexa’s words of wisdom!  All the Best, Connie

Hypnosis for New Year’s Resolutions by Alexa Ritter

How many times have you made a New Year’s Resolution?  Maybe 25? 35? 45? 50? 70? And how many times did you stick to your resolution for the entire year? That number, if you are anything like the rest of us, is probably a lot lower.

This is because change can be difficult if one tries to do it through will-power alone.  The main reason why anyone is celebrated or praised for adhering to a New Year’s resolution is because they are fighting an uphill battle and “surviving”.

As Albert Einstein once proclaimed, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.”

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could simply decide to make a change in your life, and then sit back and relax as your wish becomes your mind’s command?

With hypnosis, you don’t even have to try to achieve your goals! The struggle fades away, and the battle is won instantly.  You can say “goodbye” to that miserable year-long process of attempting to create change, and say “hello” to becoming the boss of your own life!

If your boss told you to do something, you would do it without hesitation. Just like your boss is in charge of you at work, your unconscious mind is in charge of how your life works.

However, your unconscious mind isn’t just some old boss – it is you—the manifestation and accumulation of all that you can be, and all the power you have. It is limitless, expansive, creative, and omnipotent, regardless of any preconceived notion of what you can and cannot do.

The reason why you may have struggled to create change in the past is because your conscious, analytical mind stopped you. It came up with all sorts of excuses, limiting beliefs, bad ideas, and temptations. The funny thing is, that whatever change you wanted to make, was more than likely a conscious idea. And by eventually limiting and contradicting itself, your conscious mind really was unresourceful.

Unlike the conscious mind, the unconscious mind is extremely resourceful.  It knows exactly how to make all the changes necessary in order for you to have what you desire. Permanently and easily!

During hypnosis, your unconscious mind is given suggestions, or instructions on what needs to be done. It then finds a healthful and appropriate way to take you there, and demands compliance from your conscious mind. Your conscious mind stops creating the problem, and fully accepts the effective course of action formulated by your unconscious.

So why not make this year different? Why not utilize your unconscious mind to make changes instantly, easily, and permanently?

Not only will you receive praise from your friends and family for sticking to your New Year’s resolutions, you will do it almost effortlessly, and your lasting success will become an inspiration to them. They will want to know your secret!

And hypnosis is the answer!

“Anxiety is totally gone!” Pam’s Success with Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP.

Hi, Hypnosis Friends!

I’m always pleased when a client is so happy with my work that he/she agrees to comment publicly on the power of hypnotherapy and NLP done right.  Here’s a video testimonial of success from a recent client, Pam Parsons, of Issaquah, WA.  She reports that anxiety is “Totally gone.”  Yay!

Pam decided to feel differently, and move ahead in life.  She chose to feel:  “calm, confident, worthy, driven, and courageous.”  The tools and techniques I use helped her to do just that.  We create new Designer Feelings™, and replace the unwanted feelings, and automate that process for the future, which we call Designer Beliefs ™.  Powerful stuff! Fabulous stuff.  Life-changing stuff. Pam knows.

A man I met recently asked me a question.  He said, at the end of your life, are you going to be able to say with authority and truth that you lived the life you wanted?  That you mattered, that you made a positive difference in the world, that you loved fully, that you lived fully?  I know my answer is going to be:  YES!  I love helping people, and I’m doing it. I’m living my passion.  I’m also happy that I’m helping other people to have a more wonderful life and be able to answer that question themselves in the affirmative, too.

It’s Time! Hypnosis for your New Year’s Resolutions!

Seattle's Best Hypnotherapy at Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP
Time for Skilled Hypnosis & NLP!

Hi, Hypnosis Friends!

Did you see the New Year’s fireworks celebration at the Seattle Space Needle?  I did!  It’s officially here, happy 2015!

“It’s time!”

Those are action activating words for me, and I hope for you as well. It’s time.

It’s the first week of January.  Time for assessing the new year ahead and taking stock of healthy goals. It’s time to lose that extra weight you’ve been carrying around.  It’s time to stop buying and smoking those ridiculously expensive and unhealthy cigarettes.

It’s time to dump the fear that’s been holding you back from truly experiencing and enjoying life and connecting with others:  fear of public speaking, fear of flying, fear of rejection…(you fill in the blank).  Fear is often unnecessary, and we can communicate that fact to the mind, on unconscious levels, and choose something different.

People tend to work those New Year’s Resolutions for a a day or two, a week or two, then give up.  You don’t have to go it alone when there is skilled help available.

I love what I do.  I help activate people’s desires and make them real.  My work (hypnosis and NLP Neuro-Linguistic Programming® ) is a joy-maker and a success-maker.  This time of year, people are very in touch with those desires–we call them New Year’s Resolutions.  Let’s make them real.  Call me and I’ll set up a free in person consultation in my office in Bellevue to explain the work I do and how your dreams CAN become reality.  (425) 564-8608.

Neuro-Linguistic Hypnotherapy is more powerful than “traditional” hypnotherapy alone. NLP is a conversational hypnosis that speaks directly to the mind beyond conscious thought, using the currency of life experience:  sights, sounds, smells, taste, emotion, and it’s an amazing success accelerant.  NLP is my prime work tool, as I am and Michael is also, a Licensed Trainer of NLP ® through the originator of NLP. There are only a few dozen of us at that skill & certification level working and teaching NLP in the United States.

Tick.  Tick.  Tick.  Time is moving.  And life is happening.  If you want yours to be different in positive ways that you have resolved, the time is now.

All the Best,
Connie

Sounds Good – NLP for Personal Change

Adjusting Sounds with NLP

Hi, Seattle Area Hypnosis Friends!

Here is an article I’ve written about the power of the mind and the power of NLP to make positive changes in life.  I use these same amazingly successful techniques involving sound to guide clients to personal change in my Bellevue NLP and hypnotherapy clinic.

The topic is sound…music, speech, how the soundtrack of our lives influences our emotional states.  And how WE can enhance this and alter this influence for our own well-being.  We can do all sorts of things, for example release negative emotions, create motivation, move us forward in our desires.  By “tinkering” with sound in our minds!

Music moves us, elevates us, stirs our emotions, in the direction of any emotion you can name.  Think of a march by John Phillip Sousa, or how any stirring anthem activates our feelings of patriotism.  Think how a quiet, beautiful orchestral piece of music calms and relaxes.  Think of a horror movie soundtrack, full of tension and suspense.  Sound is a huge part of our experience of our lives and key to our memories and emotional states.  Imagine a love movie with no soundtrack–would it have the same emotional impact?  No!

By altering the sounds we play in our minds in simple ways, we can experience life differently, more positively, and here are a few easy ideas to do so:

That's RidiculousWe’ve all had arguments, with a coworker, with a spouse, with a friend, and sometimes they “eat” at us.  We play them over and over in our minds, and churn up even more negative emotions like anger and irritation.  Here’s something to do:  as you think about that argument, create a new soundtrack.  Let the voices fade and cue in the circus music.  Clown music.  Carnival music.  Play that for awhile as the argument runs in your mind, and let it transform your experience of the argument.  Done?  Great!  Now, think about it.  That argument seems kind of silly, doesn’t it?  Less power.  Less force to disturb.  And that’s a GOOD thing.

Here’s another use for improving your life with sound.  You want to get to the gym, you know you need to exercise.  You want to exercise, but somehow…you just aren’t doing it.  Here’s what gets me going, and pumps up my motivation.  The Rocky Theme.  You know the one, where he’s running up the steps in Philadelphia:  “getting strong now, gonna fly now…”  Play that music in your mind when you want a lift of success and motivation.  The resultant emotion will propel you out the door and to the gym.  Or insert any other inspirational music which speaks to you.  Movies are a great source to reference, because we all know them.  You can pump up your confidence as well with music such as Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Superman.

Here’s another wonderful use of this:  play with sound to combat what we call “negative self talk.”  That’s the little critical voice in your mind always telling you what you can’t accomplish, and spraying you with curses:  “You’re lazy!,” “You’re stupid!,” “You’ll never get it done!” and so on.  Imagine that voice to be a different voice, a silly voice, a cartoon voice.  Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, Elmer Fudd, something ridiculous.  Hear the same words in that new, ridiculous, cartoon voice.  Maybe it’s a squeaky, high pitched cartoon voice.  “You’re lazy!”  The impact on you is different, isn’t it?  Now it’s absurd, and not to be taken seriously.  The voice is a joke!

The secret here, we can choose how we feel.  Play with these simple techniques above involving sound to feel good now!

Away Go Troubles Down the Drain

Here’s another musing on hypnosis and the nature of personal changes.

I was thinking about my dad this morning.  He was very handy around the house, and could fix anything.  He was a Lowes kind of guy–loved going in those home improvement and hardware type stores.  As I was brushing my teeth this morning and staring at the water running in the sink, a vision from my childhood popped into my brain.

I could see my dad, lying on the bathroom floor with a “snake” type cable doing things to clear obstructions in the drain and pipes in the bathtub and sink.  He fixed it!  My dad was a wonderful problem solver.

Last week I had poured Draino in my own bathroom sink, and today I noticed that yes, the drain is running faster.  And that reminded me of hypnosis.

Everything is a hypnotic metaphor.  Everything.

My clients always want to know this:  how fast?  How long will it take to achieve x change with hypnosis?  It absolutely varies.  Sometimes it’s instant!  Like my dad and his Roto-Rooter type pipe snake clearing a clog instantly.   The brain says:  “Oh, that blockage is unnecessary!  Goodbye!”

Sometimes change needs to work it’s way through the mind and body and habits, like Draino’s chemical reactions through pipes.  You pour it in and you let it sit, and yet it’s working.  Dissolving those clogs over time.  Hypnotic suggestions keep “workin’ it” over time, as well.

Brain and drain.  Very similar words.  Mere coincidence?  🙂  Bottom line, hypnosis is absolutely wonderful to flush troubles out of your life.  The evidence is here:  http://www.mindworkshypnosis.net.

Warm Regards,
Connie
