Hollywood movies conjure up frightening images of hypnosis\u00a0done by strange men wearing dracula capes in\u00a0dim, shrouded\u00a0basements. \u00a0Accompanied by the sounds of maniacal laugher. \u00a0&#8220;I control their minds!! \u00a0I control their minds!!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Uh, no! \u00a0That&#8217;s not what it is.<\/p>\n<p>The reality? \u00a0Hypnosis is a type of super-accelerated effective communication. \u00a0Ideas are shared with the problem-solving part of the mind, and it gets to work creating change. It&#8217;s comfortable, it&#8217;s fun, it&#8217;s pleasant. \u00a0And professionals do it in professional spaces.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve created a <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/o7nXJ--z1og\" target=\"_blank\">brief video<\/a>\u00a0below to share my Bellevue office space with you. \u00a0I LOVE my office, it reflects how I approach this work. \u00a0The key word is &#8220;professionalism.&#8221; \u00a0Take a peek:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/o7nXJ--z1og?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Some part-time hobbyist &#8220;hypnotists&#8221; in the Seattle area don&#8217;t think an office is necessary. They do sessions over the telephone, while they&#8217;re sitting in their bedroom painting\u00a0their toenails. \u00a0Here&#8217;s what I say about phone &#8220;sessions&#8221; on my<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mindworkshypnosis.net\/faq\/\" target=\"_blank\"> FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions about Hypnosis) page<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Hypnosis and NLP work is most effective face-to-face, which is why we don\u2019t recommend \u00a0internet or phone sessions. \u00a0We don\u2019t go for \u201cwatered down.\u201d \u00a0We want your success! \u00a0Our work is interactive communications, and very hands on. \u00a0Verbal (sound) alone is a tiny, tiny bit of information being conveyed, we use the full spectrum of communications information, using ALL\u00a0the senses, going in both directions. \u00a0Some of our\u00a0favorite and most effective NLP techniques involve touch. \u00a0You can&#8217;t do touch over the phone. \u00a0Hypnosis deepening techniques also involve touch.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Effectiveness! \u00a0Super important. \u00a0Professionalism. \u00a0It&#8217;s also super important. \u00a0We&#8217;re talking about your mind and your life and your goals being met. \u00a0You want someone fully committed to this work and your success. A hypnotherapist who maintains a private, professional office space is a positive indicator that you&#8217;ve found someone who is serious about the work. Hypnosis (and that includes NLP) is my full-time career, my passion, not just something I&#8217;m \u00a0doing &#8220;on the side&#8221; for a few bucks, like others in the Seattle area.
