Hi, Hypno-Friends!<\/p>\n

Like many, many of you I watched the SuperBowl yesterday.\u00a0 And, as the world knows by now, our Seattle Seahawks won.\u00a0 Crushed them!\u00a0\u00a0Happy dance time!<\/p>\n

It’s a wonderful achievement!\u00a0 How do you win a SuperBowl?\u00a0 Well, there’s conscious knowledge of the game and strategies for play needed.\u00a0 There’s\u00a0a power state of body,\u00a0a strength and physicality needed.\u00a0\u00a0I believe even more importantly, there’s a power state of mind needed.\u00a0 A winning state of mind.<\/p>\n

I just discovered that the Seahawks preparations for success included regular meditation, designed to put them into “a mindset of greatness.”\u00a0 It worked!\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42\u00a0\u00a0I found an interesting article on this:\u00a0 http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Health\/seattle-seahawks-ohm-team-advantage\/story?id=21614481<\/a>.<\/p>\n

By the way, meditation IS\u00a0hypnosis.\u00a0 It’s a kind of self hypnosis.\u00a0 This state of slower brainwaves, this state of quiet mind, with a narrowing of focus, and an inner sense of well-being, that’s absolutely hypnosis.\u00a0 When this state is created and\u00a0the mind directed to specific goals, creative\u00a0problem solving comes alive.\u00a0 Success happens!\u00a0 That sounds very much like what\u00a0the Seahawks did and that’s what I do with my clients, sports clients and otherwise.\u00a0 It’s all hypnosis.<\/p>\n

Po-tay-to,\u00a0po-tah-to.\u00a0 Perhaps “meditation” is a more socially acceptable word for some than “hypnosis.”\u00a0 I’ve noticed that lots of very successful programs and modalities for change\u00a0actually utilize hypnosis but don’t want to call it hypnosis.\u00a0 Perhaps that’s due to pejorative weirdness and misconceptions still floating around left over from crazy Hollywood movies and popular culture.\u00a0 They’re scared of the word.<\/p>\n

Hypnosis is something wonderful.\u00a0 Hypnotherapy is a guided\u00a0use of this inner-focused state of mind for very specific goal achievement.\u00a0 As the Seahawks have shown us, using your mind in this way\u00a0leads to success.<\/p>\n
