SUCCESS!\u00a0 Great word, fabulous idea.\u00a0 Seeing the word in print should spur positive feelings, should it not?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I saw a picture the other day.\u00a0 A beach, with “success” scratched in the sand near the surf’s edge.\u00a0 A friend shared this on Facebook, as an inspirational thing.\u00a0 No, it isn’t!\u00a0 I delve daily into the world of unconscious communications.\u00a0 I find and study (and change when useful) what is being communicated under the surface, which absolutely does affect us.\u00a0 A facet of my job is that I have trained myself to look for and listen in particular for “limiting beliefs,” ideas which stop us from success.<\/p>\n

This picture has a very limiting belief embedded within.\u00a0 It’s an unconscous communication, and it’s quite negative.<\/p>\n

Imagine this picture.\u00a0 The tide is out, and the sand is fairly dry but still moist.\u00a0 What’s about to happen?\u00a0 Soon, that word will be washed away, vanish, be obliterated.\u00a0 You know it’s going to happen, it’s a function of the location of the word and the ephemeral manner in which it is written in the sand and the inevitability of the tide.\u00a0 Messages in the sand do not remain.\u00a0 They go away.<\/p>\n

“Success does not last.”<\/p>\n

NOT a message I like for my unconscious mind!<\/p>\n

I’d rather believe success is something we control and keep for as long as we want it.\u00a0 Not subject to the whims of nature.\u00a0 I’d rather have a message of empowerment (I create success) rather than disempowerment (you’re going to lose it soon and there’s nothing you can do).<\/p>\n

Beliefs are not just ideas.\u00a0 They are movement operators.\u00a0 They create action and activity in us.\u00a0 Or they stop us.\u00a0 This picture is a stopper!\u00a0 Something to muse upon!<\/p>\n
