The whole mindset around this “work” disturbs me.\u00a0 The other day I got a mailing soliciting bariatric hypnotists.\u00a0 The language appalled me.\u00a0 It read:\u00a0 “Calling All Hypnotists Seriously Interested in Helping The Morbidly Obese Client Rejoin The Human Race.”\u00a0 Oh!!\u00a0 Really?\u00a0 Those with weight problems are not human?\u00a0 What are they?\u00a0 Aliens?\u00a0 Hey, just a guess, but this does not sound like a compassionate or empathetic point of view.\u00a0 I guess if you’re going to cut them open, it’s easier to do if you think of them as nonhuman.\u00a0 Maybe it’s like dissecting lab rats.<\/p>\n
Bariatric surgery?\u00a0 Dangerous, dumb, dubiously effective,\u00a0and\u00a0not necessary for successful weight loss.\u00a0 Hypnotic bariatric surgery?\u00a0 In my opinion, that is exponentially dumber, and absolutely\u00a0wrong-minded–what a waste of a powerful and positive tool for life change–hypnosis.\u00a0 I KNOW how people successfully lose weight and maintain a healthy weight.\u00a0 And I know that they don’t\u00a0require surgery to do it.\u00a0\u00a0Now\u2026how do I know?<\/p>\n
