Hello, Hypnosis Friends!<\/p>\n

It’s time to clean out my work desk.\u00a0 It’s getting cluttered.\u00a0 And it’s full of things I don’t want.\u00a0 Nobody does.<\/p>\n

Some formerly-smoking clients like to give me “gifts” as they’re leaving their Neuro-Linguistic Hypnotherapy session(s).\u00a0 They hand me their\u00a0last package of\u00a0cigarettes, and say:\u00a0 “I don’t need these.\u00a0 I’m so done with cigarettes.”<\/p>\n

I’ve been keeping these “gifts” for a reason.\u00a0 Part of the work I do is TESTING.\u00a0 How do we know the hypnosis is working?\u00a0 The proof is the pudding and you, my clients, are the pudding.\u00a0 How do you respond?\u00a0 Is it different than when you walked in the door?<\/p>\n

With a spider phobia client we go into the garden and look for spiders, so he\/she can stick their face two inches from a spider and FEEL the difference.\u00a0 Nothing.\u00a0 Calm.\u00a0 With a fear-of-heights client, we’ll walk into the open 2nd level atrium in my building and lean over the edge, and FEEL the difference.\u00a0 Nothing.\u00a0 Calm.\u00a0 With a former smoker, he\/she will\u00a0hold the cigarette, smell the cigarette, look at the package, and FEEL the difference.\u00a0 Zero interest.\u00a0 Zero attraction.\u00a0 Indifference.\u00a0 Or, as useful, disgust, as in “I don’t want those.”<\/p>\n

So I keep these packages of cigarettes around for testing.\u00a0 But I don’t need so many packages in my drawer.\u00a0 I’ll just keep one.<\/p>\n

Other “gifts” include tins of chewing tobacco, and various packages of candy.\u00a0 Clients have handed them over telling me that they’re choosing healthy instead.\u00a0 I have some in my drawer, and it’s also a nice test for ME–someone who was a “candy addict” for decades upon decades.\u00a0 I test me, and no, I have zero interest\u00a0 in eating that candy.\u00a0 Forgetaboutit!\u00a0 Good thing, too.\u00a0 Because I’ve re-shaped my body with hypnosis and I intend to keep it that way.<\/p>\n
