happy first day of summer

happy first day of summer

for the version of you that’s ready – By Connie Brannan, CHt.

the sun stays out longer now
so does the possibility

something in you already knows
this season feels different
lighter
like a window finally cracked open
after a long winter
you didn’t realize you survived

the light is doing its job
pouring into every room
asking you gently
what if today is the start of something

you don’t need to wait
for next year
next month
the right moment

the right moment is sunlight
on your face
right now

your mind has been ready
longer than you think
holding onto old patterns
the way we hold onto winter coats
out of habit
not need

but you can set them down

somewhere just beneath the noise
there’s a quieter voice
that already believes
you can feel lighter
think clearer
become exactly who you’re meant to be

this summer
let the warmth reach
the parts of you
that have been waiting
for permission to bloom

you don’t have to white-knuckle
your way through change

you just need someone
to help you open the door

that’s the work
that’s what i do
that’s why i’m here

come find me
while the light is long
and the season is new
and so are you

The Constant Fear-Filled Yammering Was Gone – Client Success Story

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is hearing from clients after they’ve had a chance to live with the changes we created together.

Recently, a client sent me an update a week after her third session. With her permission, I’d like to share some of her experience.

When she arrived in my office, she was struggling with anxiety, overwhelm, and a mind that simply wouldn’t give her any peace. Like many people, she had become trapped in a cycle of negative thoughts and emotions that felt impossible to escape.

A week after our work together, she wrote:

“When I left your office, I was floating along, mind completely blown about all we accomplished.”

What struck me most was her description of what happened next.

Many people assume that if anxiety goes away, they will immediately know what to do with themselves. But when someone has lived with constant mental chatter for a long time, the absence of it can feel surprisingly unfamiliar.

She described it this way:

“The next few days felt sort of strange. A vacuum was created and it was like I didn’t know what to do with it. No constant fear filled yammering in my head.”

Think about that for a moment.

No constant fear-filled yammering.

For many people, that inner voice has become such a permanent companion that they can hardly imagine life without it.

Yet she went on to say:

“I felt calm.”

Even more importantly, she discovered something new.

Instead of being swept away by every negative thought or emotion, she found herself able to step back and evaluate them.

In her words:

“I feel like a new person and it’s a beautiful thing. I’m thoughtful and feel I can calmly look at negative thoughts and emotions that pop up and evaluate and/or disregard them easily.”

That’s an important distinction.

The goal isn’t to become a person who never has a negative thought.

The goal is to become a person who is no longer controlled by those thoughts.

She continued:

“What a giant gift! My life up to that point had been locked into a sort of hysteria where I couldn’t do that with any success. It was frustrating and exhausting.”

I think many readers will recognize that feeling.

When anxiety is running the show, life can become exhausting. Every thought feels important. Every feeling demands attention. Every problem seems urgent.

When that pattern changes, people often describe feeling lighter, calmer, and more themselves.

My client ended her note with words that deeply touched me:

“It is hard to find the words to thank you for what you probably consider just doing your job, but to me life is changing.”

I never take comments like that for granted.

Helping people create meaningful change in their lives is both my profession and my passion. Watching someone move from fear and overwhelm into calm, confidence, and possibility is one of the reasons I’ve loved this work for nearly two decades.

Full text of her remarks:

“Hi, Connie~  It’s been a week since we had our third session, and I wanted to reach out and let you know about the giant, fabulous impact it had on me.  When I left your office, I was floating along, mind completely blown about all we accomplished.  I not only felt my new integration, but I also felt the permanence of it.  I remember you stressed that, and I definitely felt it and still do.

No constant fear filled yammering in my head. I felt calm. Connie, I feel like a new person and it’s a beautiful thing.  I’m thoughtful and feel I can calmly look at negative thoughts and emotions that pop up and evaluate and/or disregard them easily.  What a giant gift!  My life up to that point had been locked into a sort of hysteria where I couldn’t do that with any success.  It was frustrating and exhausting.

It is hard to find the words to thank you for what you probably consider just doing your job, but to me life is changing.  You are so very good at what you do, and I will sing your praises forever.”  — Jean, Seattle, WA

Thank you, Jean, for allowing me to share your experience.

Stress Release with Mindworks Hypnosis — Faster than you think!

Workday stress at the office calls for hypnosis.

Stress is sneaky. It steals sleep, clouds thinking, and makes every little thing feel harder. But here’s the good news: you don’t have to live with it. Hypnosis and NLP let you reset your mind and body into calm, clarity, and confidence.

Think of me as your Good Feeling Merchant. I help people design their emotional state and turn it on at will — like a superpower. You don’t have to wait for the weekend, the vacation, or the glass of wine. You can feel centered now.

My clients often say they walk out of a session with me feeling lighter, brighter, and in control. Stress doesn’t disappear by itself — but with the right tools, it melts away like ice in the sun.

Stress relief is just a session away. Ready to feel like yourself again? Let’s talk.  425-564-8608  Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP, for your success.

Finding Your Balance with Designer Feelings®

Let’s be honest—life can feel like a balancing act on a tightrope. Some days, we’re so focused on our to-do lists, responsibilities, and deadlines that we forget to actually enjoy the life we’re working so hard to build. Other times, we might lean a little too far the other way—seeking comfort and pleasure, and letting the “important stuff” slide. Either way, we’re out of alignment.

Here at Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP, we believe that success and happiness aren’t found at either extreme. They’re found in balance. And that balance is something you can actually design for yourself—on purpose—with Designer Feelings®.

So what are Designer Feelings®?

They’re exactly what they sound like: custom-created emotional states that support the version of you that you most want to be. Whether your goal is to feel confident while speaking in public, to stop craving sugar cookies, to stay cool under pressure, or to feel calm and connected in your relationships—Designer Feelings® are the secret weapon to help you get there.

Think of it like programming your mind for success, with the exact emotional fuel you need to drive you forward.

Why feelings?

Because feelings drive everything. Our choices. Our habits. Our reactions. If you’ve ever said, “I know what I should do, but I just don’t feel like doing it,” you already know how powerful emotions are. What if you could actually feel like doing the right things, the healthy things, the wealth-building, joy-creating, life-expanding things?

That’s where we come in.

At Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP, we help clients eliminate unhelpful feelings—like anxiety, self-doubt, overwhelm, or destructive cravings—and install new, resourceful states instead. Feelings like motivation, focus, freedom, confidence, peace, joy. States of mind and body that support your goals and make them easier to reach.

Designer Feelings® are useful for:

✅ Breaking unwanted habits (smoking, overeating, etc.)
✅ Sports and performance enhancement
✅ Releasing fear, stress, or anxiety
✅ Improving communication and relationships
✅ Creating unstoppable motivation
✅ Boosting creativity, success, and joy

You don’t have to “try harder” or “force yourself” into change. When you feel differently, you act differently. And your outcomes change—naturally, powerfully, and quickly.

So ask yourself: what would you like to feel more of in your life?
Excited? Empowered? Grounded? Energized?
Whatever you need, we can help you build it from the inside out.

Let’s design something amazing—just for you.

A Chance to Trance – Quit Smoking @ Bellevue College

Bellevue College offers adult continuing education.
Bellevue College offers adult continuing education.

Hi, Guys!

It’s interesting.  I’m offering a couple courses at Bellevue College this autumn.  One is Healthy Hypnosis:  Let Go of Weight and it’s filling up like gangbusters.  The other is Quit Smoking With Self Hypnosis, and there’s less interest in it, apparently.  I find that surprising!   This (self hypnosis) is SUCH a powerful tool for habit change, and the number one habit in the universe which should and can be changed easily is smoking.  As in, don’t do it.  Ever.   And so many people profess to want that!  I can help.  These tools offer massive help, which I share in my class.  The how-to!

All hypnosis is self hypnosis, even the guided work I do in my office with clients.  This course is even bigger than that.  It’s like the old saying.  Give a guy a fish, and he’s got a fish.  For dinner tonight.  That’s nice.   TEACH a guy to fish, and he’s got fish forever.  Bring on the tartar sauce!  🙂  That’s wonderful.  I want to teach you how to fish for change.  The course title is about one particular habit:  Smoking!  But it can be used for so much more than that.  And I want my students to use it for so much more than that.  Hypnosis is a life-changer, a life-enhancer, beyond quantification, really.

Here’s a chance.  Your chance. LEARN.  Grow.  Thrive.  It’s what I want for you, and I know it’s what you want for yourself.  It’s a chance to trance.  I wrote this in an earlier blog entry and you know, it’s so true that it bears repeating.  I said:  “The unconscious mind is the good guy—for all of us. The part of us that keeps us alive, breathing, blood flowing, healing, storehouses our learning, wants us to grow and thrive and be happy and healthy and successful.”  Yes!   In hypnosis, that’s what we do, converse with this part of ourselves, and improve the quality of our lives through these conversations.  Wouldn’t that ability be worth something to you?  To anyone?

There are still seats available in my self hypnosis courses at Bellevue College this autumn, where I share these tools of “mindwork.”  Here are the direct sign up links.

Quit Smoking With Self Hypnosis.  This takes you to Bellevue College’s webpage, course description, and shopping cart.  As always, if you want more information, you can contact me directly via the info. on my main webpage.  🙂

Healthy Hypnosis, Let Go of Weight.
http://www.campusce.net/BC/course/course.aspx?C=11559&pc=1066&mc=1387&sc=

Quit Smoking With Self Hypnosis begins this month, September 27 and continues the following week on October 4th.  Do you have something better to do on a couple Monday nights than improve your life dramatically?

If I do say so myself the course is a lot of fun.  It spans the course of one week, and two evenings.  Six hours total.  VERY hands on.  Your mind grows.  Visually, and on the inside, too!  🙂  You will be hypnotized.  Repeatedly.  And learn to do it for yourself.  And learn what to do and how to communicate to yourself in that state of mind which makes the difference in your habits and your life.  You learn about language of influence.  You learn about how the mind works.  You learn the truth about hypnosis.  It’s all good, and it’s all useful.  I do hope some more of you will join me.

Warm Regards,
Connie
