A Power Approach: We Don’t Talk About Change, We Create It!

Another Happy Review of Seattle's Best Hypnotherapy and NLP

Another Success Story

Hi, Greater Seattle hypnosis friends!

Another happy client shares her success with Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP services. Diana, of Woodinville, WA, came in for several issues, which we worked concurrently.  She did GREAT, she collaborated and did what I asked, to create a new way of thinking.

“When you change how you think, how you think changes you!”  My hubby and biz partner, Michael, coined that phrase!  And it’s absolute truth.

Here’s what Diana says after 4 sessions of Neuro Linguistic Hypnotherapy at Mindworks Hypnosis:

“Connie, as we finished up our sessions today I wanted to thank you and say a few words.

I had been to counseling at least three times over the past 28 years for: procrastination/not motivated/negative/low energy/self-esteem-confidence. Well I spent a lot of [time] talking, however, I did not receive much help, only more frustration.

I have always been open to alternative therapies but had not explored the
possibilities of what Hypnosis could do for me until this year. I researched
Hypnotherapists in my area. I viewed your web site and read the patient
reviews. After I watched your video, I felt there was a connection and
believed you could help.

I knew I had made the right choice the minute I walked into your office. The office is very calming, light, bright & creative. You are very confident and explained what therapies you use, your degrees, certificates, years of experience including your own successes. I was ready to get started!

It was all so easy and relaxing. I was amazed after the first session how I
had changed without even thinking about it. I just did not want to be
un-motivated, I had energy to get things done – I did not go crazy by any
means but it felt good to think to myself,” hmm I really don’t feel like
watching anymore TV”. I did not want to put things off until tomorrow – before, I was the queen of making things sound so much better if I did them tomorrow!

It felt awesome to see myself energized to go out for a walk or work in the
yard, instead of ugh – really a walk. I don’t crave the salty snacks, if I eat them – I just have a few and I’m satisfied. The things that bothered me are simply gone, just like you said – whoosh. The hypnosis itself is amazingly relaxing, I was aware of everything – yet the time slipped by.

I am so excited to work with my Self Hypnosis..I let you know how it goes. Thank you again!” — Diana S, Woodinville, WA

It seems like a big bundle of stuff, doesn’t it?  Procrastination.  Self Esteem issues.  Confidence issues.  Negative thinking.  It’s all connected, and our work touches all of it.  We don’t work on one behavior or THING.  We work on life.  Here’s an analogy…pro bowler.  They know how to hit pins to knock down other pins with the one ball roll.  We do that, too.  I look for the biggest and best things to change which will have the most positive impact for the person in front of me.  That skill is part of the artistry of hypnosis and what makes a creative hypnotist superior to a script-reading hypnotist.

I love my art.  And I’m happy for Diana.  I taught her a great tool, called “Self Hypnosis.”  So she can work any goals for herself on an ongoing basis, utilizing this power part of the mind–her unconscious mind.  Conscious mind work didn’t get her very far, as she said, 28 years of counseling.  This approach is very different.  We don’t analyze problems, we heal and end them.  28 years of counseling (and no success) or 4 sessions with Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP (and life changes galore).  Which sounds better?  You pick!

Goodbye to “Hopeless” – Client Success Testimonial for Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP

Experience hypnosis and set a goal into your mind.

Experience hypnosis!

Hi, Hypnosis Friends!

Happy client success stories for the work I do at Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP:  that’s what it’s all about.  Here’s another.

This gentleman was suffering from anxiety and several debilitating phobias. He came in for a few sessions and we worked it all!   I worked with him, and he reported immediate improvements, feeling more calm and confident and improved performance.  Improved interactions with others.  In our work, I also gave him a tool to take home, for continued success:  instant self hypnosis.  He sent me the following email this week, and I’m pleased as punch that he’s using the tool:

“I wanted to let you know that just now I had done a successful self hypnosis session on confidence. I had an event earlier today that had me feeling down and filled with anxiety, just now after my 15 minute session am I able to keep calm and positive.

I did as you said, I visualized myself interacting with people and challenges in my past and future in a strong- confident way…

My healing has come a long way in which I feel the momentum of positivism emerging in my mind giving me hope instead of hopelessness like before.” – S. Roth, Tacoma, WA.

Terrific!  That last sentence makes my day!  Positivism instead of hopeless.  This enormous and wonderful change will affect all areas of his life, better health, better interpersonal and business relationships, improved learning, self image, success, and so on.

Keep it rolling, S.  This is a tool you can use forever.

Hypnotism = Targeted Reality Engineering ™

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

Here’s my morning musing. 🙂 My teacher, Dr. Richard Bandler, says this:  “The truth is that reality is built out of consciousness not the inverse. Our imaginations determine what will be real next.”

This is a difficult concept for many.  Yet, day after day, year after year, doing this work, I absolutely know it’s true.  What we focus our minds on we create in our lives, whether that be success or misery.  What we’re thinking about in this moment creates our tomorrows.  So, my advice?  Think about what you WANT.  🙂  Not what you don’t want.

What are hypnosis and NLP?  They’re express tickets into the playground called “the unconscious mind” where we can focus this imagination in ways to create a better, desired reality.  I use the word “playground” very intentionally, because doing this(targeted reality making) is so much FUN and such a pleasant experience for all involved.

I’ve come up with a new description for what I do.  Hypnotist = Targeted Reality Engineer ™.

Warm Regards,
Connie

A Little Boy Had Fear – And Now He Doesn’t

Erase fear with NLP.

It’s not been frequent, but I do work with children as well as adults.  Children are VERY responsive to Neuro Linguistic Programming and hypnosis.  I’ve worked with as young as six years old.

What’s needed is an ability to focus/engage/play through the processes with me.  I had a wonderful little 8-year old boy like that the other day.  He came in with a terror of elevators.  Not just a fear.  A wide-eyed terror.  He had learned it.  We proceeded to unlearn it.

I did my thing with him, Neuro Linguistic Programming, primarily.  We created new feelings and new pictures and new sounds in his mind around elevators.  Better ones.  We did some hypnosis as well, with imagery to create security and a sense of well being.

Success!

I like to test my work, always.  Immediately in the real world, when possible.  My office building has a small elevator.  (And smaller elevators had been even more terrifying to my client.)  The boy, his mom, and I rode the elevator that day.  Suddenly, an elevator was an amusement ride, something FUN to do.  He wanted to push the buttons.  He rode down, he rode up.  Feeling happy.  Feeling good.  “Mom, let’s do it again!”  We rode down and up again.

As they left my office I heard him saying to his mother, “I want to ride the elevator!!  Can I push the buttons?”  Fear is gone.

A side personal note:  I have relatives that are very very successful in the realm of retail stores.  They sell pretty things to people who have a lot of money.  That’s nice.  By anyone’s standards looking at them, they are success and wealth personified.  One of those relatives made a comment yesterday suggesting that the work I do is insignificant.

I think what I do is infinitely more important and more valuable.  A little boy had fear.  And now he doesn’t.  I believe that transformation is worth more than all the tea in China.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Hello, Hypno-Friends!

Do you want to sleep with strangers? Well, there’s an opportunity to do just that, in a way that’s both safe and sensible. In fact, it’s a good thing, a terrific thing. To be 100% accurate, it’s not sleep, it just looks like it from the outside. It’s HYPNOSIS. Who wants to learn how to use their own mind to create success? Me! Me! Me! Me! Maybe you, too?

I’m teaching a continuing education course at Bellevue College for their Personal Enrichment Program. It’s called “Building Confidence & Self Esteem Through Self Hypnosis.” Here is a pretty inexpensive way to taste and learn hypnosis. I guide you (the students) to trance, and we set an instant trigger to return to that state. When YOU want, on YOUR terms, for YOUR purposes. It’s powerful. It’s pleasant. It’s amazing. Come and learn! We also learn well-forming goals so that they make sense for your life, and are attainable, truly attainable, and how to talk to the unconscious part of your mind. Persuasive talk. So cool!!!

Hypnosis is a powerful way to make changes in your life–positive changes! If it fits your schedule, I recommend this as an easy and inexpensive beginner’s taster introduction to hypnosis. Building Confidence and Self-Esteem Through Self-Hypnosis

World Hypnotism Day 1/28 – Thank You to Attendees!

Hi, Guys!

Michael and I attended the festivities today in Bellevue around our state’s National Guild of Hypnotists’ chapter’s World Hypnotism Day events.  Michael and I were financial sponsors of the event as well as participants.  Michael gave free public talks on getting over PTSD, and another on the Magic of Instant Change, and a class for professional hypnotists on hypnotic “inductions.”  (Bringing someone into hypnosis.)  He also manned a Q&A panel to answer questions re:  hypnosis and hypnotherapy.

I gave a free talk on Smoking Cessation, as well as a paid course for professionals on how to bring a resource state into a problem state and dissolve the problem state — Advanced techniques of NLP Anchoring.

It was a long day, but FUN!  Thank you to all who attended, and we hope you learned more about the power of your own minds.

World Hypnotism Day is an event to promote the understanding of hypnosis as a healing art–I think that we met that challenge today.  🙂  For more local events, keep your eyes on my “events page” at the top of this blog.  Hypnosis is something to be celebrated all year long, not just one day.

Warm Regards,
Connie

Michael’s and My Excellence Quest – More Fun and More Learning!

Hi, Guys!

I’m so excited.  Today is a day of FUN, and learning.   Those are one and the same thing in my book.  🙂  Michael and I are taking advantange of a rare opportunity to learn today from one of the best hypnotists in the US, Don Mottin of the National Guild of Hypnotists.  He’s in Seattle offering a course in client-based weight loss.

National Guild of Hypnotists

National Guild of Hypnotists

Now, hypnotic weight loss is already my expertise, but you can ALWAYS learn more, fine tune and enhance skills.  Michael and I are members of the National Guild of Hypnotists, the oldest, and best recognized Professional Organization for hypnotists in the US, and as such we have a committment to continuing education.  This is a piece of that!!  Learning more.  Yay!

I don’t settle for good, I want to be the absolute best hypnotist I can be.  Learning is a never-ending process, and a never ending joy.  Last year Michael and I attended two of Don Mottin’s live training courses:  Rewiring the Brain For Stroke Survivors and Pain Management–all full of useful ideas that I have incorporated into my work.  More learning with Don = more excellence for me, and better results for my clients.  That’s what it’s all about.

Pearls of wisdom.

Pearls of wisdom.

We just had Halloween (one of my favorite holidays).  Here is how I see learning.  It’s like trick or treating!  (Honestly, some programs I’ve spent money on are a trick, not a treat!)  Don is a treat.  He’ll be offering up a basket of cool ideas like a basket of gems and pearls.   I prefer a basketful of ideas to a basketful of snickers and M&Ms and jelly beans.  The currency of excellence here is creative imagination, not sugar.  I’ll take some!!!

Warm Regards,
Connie

Stage Hypnosis – That’s Entertainment!

How many of you have ever seen a stage hypnosis show?  Did you wonder (as I did my first time experiencing hypnosis, which happened to be while watching a hypnosis show at the Puyallup Fair):  “What IS this???”  It’s called “stage hypnosis.”  It’s a show, or demonstration, for entertainment purposes, of the power of the human mind.  It’s fun.  Laughs.  Humor.  Amusement.  Amazement.  Did you ask yourself (as I did):  “Is it REAL??”

Yes!  It’s real!  These participants in the hypnosis are actually experiencing new realities.   For example, these new realities may involve differences in sensation.  As a hypnotic subject in a stage show, you may feel hot while imagining a warm beach, even though the room may be perfectly comfortable temperature.  You may experience differences in reality, like speaking a foreign language you have never learned.  Even Martian!  Differences in other sense experiences of the world, an onion may taste like an apple.  Differences in your identity.  You may begin singing and dancing believing yourself to be Elvis Presley.  What IS this?  It’s a freedom of expression and inner creativity.  In some cases, simply a license to act goofy.  How is the hypnotist MAKING the people do that?  They’re not.  The participants want to–they are volunteers!  It’s NOT mind control.

What does this have to do with hypnotherapy—the application of hypnosis to achieve positive changes in behavior and feeling and thinking?  It’s the same power of the mind.  The same power of the mind to create new realities.  Only, the changes are desired and useful, not silly, and good hypnotherapists make them stick.  Hypnosis.  It’s a GOOD thing!

Michael and I were in Las Vegas this past weekend, and we went to a stage hypnosis show.  And we enjoyed it!  The ones in Vegas tend to be adult humor, the ones you might see at the fair are family-oriented humor.  We love stage hypnosis.  In fact, we’ve both been trained professionally in stage hypnosis, as well as our other trainings.  In fact, we’ve both performed stage hypnosis–birthday parties and the like.  An understanding of the mind is useful, and all new information gathered is useful.  Learning stage hypnosis has made me a better hypnotist, adding to my skill set.

Some people think stage hypnosis is “bad” or less valuable.  Nope!!  Not at all.  It’s for a different purpose.  Laughter.  And it meets that well.  That’s entertainment!

Hypnotherapy is for life change.  Your positive changes in behaviors, thoughts, feelings to improve your quality and experience of your time on planet earth.  Stage hypnosis and hypnotherapy:  same animal, different saddle.
