Skilled Hypnosis Services are Alive & Well in the Seattle Area

Better Business Bureau Accredited BusinessHi, Seattle Hypnosis Friends!

Those of you following my hypnosis and NLP blog read frequently my stories of helping, and adventures, and insight doing this work for 10+ years here in Bellevue.  All about my approach — client-centered.  My joy in this power called hypnosis that helps people to get the life they want.  How I’m using it for my own weight management and self development. Here’s the “secret” to my success:  Never stop learning, and growing, and perfecting skill.

I noticed this week that my largest local competitor, called Positive Changes Hypnosis Center is out of business.  The google page for their Bellevue hypnosis location says:  “closed permanently.”  I called their direct office phone number and got a recording saying:  “You have reached a non-working number.”

I know Positive Changes sold lengthy packages of services, and what’s happening to those people mid-service now that they have closed their doors?

If anyone reading this is a prior/current Positive Changes customer and uncertain about how to go forward to their goals, I’d like to reach out to you.  Different, skilled hypnosis services are alive and well in Bellevue.  My company is called Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP.

My tools are quite different than Positive Changes.  If you check out my reviews, my clients have greater success more quickly.  For less money and less time commitment, also.  How is that possible?  The major difference is my skill set.  I am a Licensed Trainer®  of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (a high-tech hypnosis).  Also, my work is always one on one, and custom-crafted.   Hypnosis is an art form, and no two hypnotists create alike.  Honestly, the difference between unskilled and skilled hypnosis can be as dramatic as a kid with a paint-by-numbers kit, vs. a Renoir.

My passion is greater, too.  I flatter myself that I have found my art.  This is it.  And I love it beyond anything else in my life I have ever learned or done.  That makes a difference, just as intelligence makes a difference.  Experience makes a difference.  Creativity makes a difference.  If you’d like to discover what hypnosis can REALLY do for you, come on in and meet me.  You’ll meet ME, not some high-pressure “evaluator.”  I’m Connie, I’m the hypnotist.

Don’t give up on your goals of using hypnosis for change and success.  Just find a skilled provider to help you.

Featured Testimonial – Goodbye Anxiety & Depression

Hi, Seattle Hypnosis Friends!

I’ve had a lot of clients over the years, and I’ve helped with every variety of context and situation of desired change from weight loss to anxiety release to help with addictions, to sports improvement, to quitting smoking, and more.  Some clients stick out as memorable, because of their willingness to “go for it” and cooperation, some for their incredible successes.  Karel was both of those things.

Karel shared her thoughts about our work on Google with a 5-star review of Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP:

“Connie Brannan has helped me change the way I think about myself and my life. I saw her primarily for help with weight loss, but I ended up realizing many other positive changes at the same time. I was surprised and so pleased with the lasting results of my sessions: ability to concentrate on the way I wanted to eat, improvement in my personal relationships, and a completely rejuvenated interest in life.

After 20+ years of severe depression, I was amazed to find that I was free of it after just a single session. I am so grateful that I had the good sense to see Connie, and I recommend her services to anyone who wants similar improvements in their life.”  – Karel Creason, Bellevue, WA.

And she wrote to me a few years later, offering this follow-up.

“Hello, Connie, I want to give you an update on the changes in my life since I saw you in February 2012.  I have continued to benefit from my freedom from depression…

I also have been able to handle a number of emotionally difficult situations which, in the past, would have had me reeling. What a great improvement. I no longer become paralyzed with grief, fear, or anger when I learn of family illness, marital problems, self-esteem issues, etc.

These changes are because you told my subconscious what to do to make me live the way I want to. I have always held to your phrase that if something I think or believe isn’t useful in my life, get rid of it. What a concept!

In addition to letting you know how I’m doing myself, I wanted to let you know that I referred 2 of my friends to you, and they both have reported great happiness with what you did for them. ”  — Karel Creason , Bellevue, WA

Yay, Karel.  Keep living your life on your own terms, with joy and a sense of your own power to make life better.

This sentence of Karel’s sums up the power of creative, skilled NLP and hypnosis:  “After 20+ years of severe depression, I was amazed to find that I was free of it after just a single session.”  We ALL have this kind of transformational power residing in our unconscious minds–it’s merely a matter of effective and persuasive communications. That’s what skilled hypnosis is, opening up the door and engaging in effective communications with the unconscious mind, and offering up new choices, stimulating new habits and patterns of living.

Sky high five above the clouds

As I said to Karel and I often say to clients when I’m happy with the shifts happening:  “High five to the unconscious mind!”

All the Best,
Connie

Skill Beyond CDs – Best Greater Seattle Hypnotherapy & NLP

Unnecessary!

Unnecessary!

Hi, Seattle Hypnosis Friends!

I’ve written another article for my website called “Skill Beyond CDs.”  I’m sharing it here as well.  🙂  I’ve explained this idea one on one in my hypnosis & NLP consultations, however, perhaps it’s time to share it bigger.

A prospective client came in for her consultation yesterday.  In our Q&A, she asked me: “Are you going to give me an audio CD of our session that I have to listen to?”  I said, “No way!  I don’t do that, because you don’t need to do that.”  She heaved a giant sigh of relief, a prior hypnotist had tortured her in that way.  I explained more:  “When this work is done well, change is automated.  That means it sticks and grows even more powerful on its own.  Today, and tomorrow.  Without you needing to listen to a CD.”

The fact is, hypnosis is a self-regulated profession.  In the Seattle area, and in Washington State, there are no certification requirements, beyond a simple registration process.  Anyone can do this work, trained or untrained, skilled or unskilled, creatively imaginative or reading from a script book.  Every hypnotist has chosen and pursued a different level of training, and has achieved a different skill set, as well as coming to the game with a different  level of native intelligence and creativity.

Every hypnotist has a different mindset as well, as to the power of these tools for personal and positive change.  Some hypnotists are believers, and some are doubters.

Doubters give CDs.  Giving a client a CD recording of the session gives its own NEGATIVE and damaging hypnotic message:  our work isn’t enough to be successful.  Wow, what a stupid thing to communicate to a client–creating an expectation that change is difficult.  Yes, our work is enough to be successful!  IF the skill set is there in the first place to create and install ongoing change rapidly.

This work is all about utilizing the unconscious mind to make change.  Unconscious means outside of conscious awareness.  Thinking and remembering to make time to listen to an audio recording of your session involves your conscious mind.  When the conscious mind is involved, this work is less powerful and less successful.  Good hypnosis requires no “homework.”

Stupid FaceA somewhat rude novice hypnotist asked me one day:  “If you’re not going to make CDs, how are YOU going to compete?”  The answer is (without giving away the unique processes I have created to help people change), by creating more success for clients WITHOUT making them listen to a CD.  It wouldn’t have been polite to say:  “Because I’m better and smarter than you at this work and I’ve created something different that’s even more powerful.”

Here’s a story I like to tell to illustrate these ideas from my own personal experience.  I used to have an extreme spider phobia.  In addition to being deathly afraid of spiders, I was constantly worried about seeing one and was always on the lookout.  This pattern lasted in me for over 30 years!

Guess what?  I didn’t have to do anything or listen to a CD to keep that fear in place.  It’s just who I was and how I responded in the world.  It was an unconscious strategy in my mind.  Not a useful one.  With NLP, that strategy became changed in me in a one event new learning.  I was changed.  Effective immediately, there was no fear of spiders.  It’s been 9 years now, and I’ve never had to “listen to a CD” to keep that change.  It’s just who I am and how I respond in the world.  With calm where fear used to be.  That’s effective change.  That’s what I strive for in my office.  Automated change that does not involve your conscious mind expending energy where it’s not needed.

So my advice, toss the session CDs and find a hypnotist actually skilled enough to help you face to face!

Can Hypnosis Help With…?

Happy Trance

Hypnosis is a positive experience.

Can hypnosis help with…?  The short answer is: YES!  If it involves the mind and how we respond to life, hypnosis helps!

Prepare to delve into a world of power—your own.

Hypnosis unlocks positive change, and unleashes potential, changes habits, changes minds, changes bodies, changes your experience of life itself!  Hypnosis creates a world more in line with your goals and desires.

Here’s my definition of hypnosis: “Hypnosis is a state of accelerated learning.”  It’s super powerful and super positive.

When I’m teaching self hypnosis for Bellevue College Continuing Education, I’m often asked by students: What is hypnosis good for? What can it be used for? Can hypnosis help with this, that, and the other thing?  Yes!

A problem is only a perspective, and perspectives are subject to change.  So hypnosis can be used to develop a more resourceful perspective on ANY problem.  When you think differently about something, you feel differently, and your responses and choices in the world are different.  Here is a list of problems that hypnosis helps with, though it is by no means an exhaustive list:

• agoraphobia
• anxiety – anxiety state
• confidence boosting
• creativity
• depression
• embarrassment
• emotional pain – guilt
• exam nerves
• fear of flying
• insomnia – sleep improvement
• interview nerves
• migraine
• motivation
• memory and learning
• nail and finger biting
• nervous problems
• nightmares
• panic state, panic attacks
• pain control
• performance anxiety
• phobias (all kinds) – irrational fears
• procrastination
• public speaking
• relationship problems
• shyness
• smoking
• social anxiety
• sports performance
• stage fright
• stress and related problems
• weight loss & weight management

When you’re ready for some positive changes, whether you live in the Seattle area or beyond, call us at (425) 564-8608. www.mindworkshypnosis.net Hypnosis works!

Warm Regards,
Connie

Goodbye, Anxiety! Client Testimonial of Success for Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP.

Marcela KenevanMarcela Kenevan of Gig Harbor, WA came to me in a state of anxiety, fear and uncertainty over recent and unfolding events in her life.  Those unpleasant states of mind and body are over.  She’s feeling like herself again, confident and powerful, and happy.

What does NLP and hypnosis do?  It gets you in touch with your own resourcefulness (good feelings).  When you feel good, you think differently, and you make different and better choices for your life.  NLP updates the programming in your mind so that this new resourcefulness sticks and becomes the automatic you in the places where un-resourcefulness (bad feelings) used to live.  Change is amazingly fast.  NLP has been called “hypnosis on steroids.”  I think that’s accurate.  🙂

Here is Marcela, feeling good and sharing her new state of mind.  Hold on to your power state, Marcela.  It looks good on you.

Check out the positive power of hypnosis & NLP anytime.  We offer a free in-office consult, when you’d like to learn more.

Hypnosis Office in Bellevue

It’s turning green out there.  Which I happen to love, as green is my favorite color.  Here is a pic of my inner office space, where the transformations happen.

The hypno-chair is waiting for you!

The hypno-chair is waiting for you!

Abundant life, energy, and freshness. Nice things in a view, and nice things in a life.

Not all hypnotherapists maintain a professional office space, because they’re not successful enough at the work to warrant it.  Not all hypnotherapists that have an office create a peaceful and inviting environment, I’ve seen others that are windowless and bland, shabby even.  You can tell a lot about a person by how they keep their personal and professional spaces.

Mindworks Hypnosis & NLP is a warm place, full of beautiful art (my Mom’s paintings and drawings), color, and positive energy.  You’re welcome to come experience some positive changes in my space, any time!

Warm Regards,
Connie

Here’s another photo from in the office.  This is the “Alter to Happy.”  Which is what I want for you, as well.  🙂

An End to Fear of Public Speaking — Client Testimonial for Mindworks Hypnosis

Hypnosis to end Fear of Public Speaking

Hypnosis to end Fear of Public Speaking

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

When I meet new people they often ask the following question about hypnosis and NLP: “Sounds cool! But, does it really work?” I answer with a resounding: “YES!” Here’s more proof of the pudding.

A recent client came in to my Bellevue hypnosis office to end her fear and anxiety around speaking, in public and also in smaller groups, primarily in a business context. She did that! She ended her debilitating fear, successfully. Replaced it with calm, and even a sense of fun.  Here is her report after 3 sessions of Neuro-Linguistic Hypnotherapy.

C.O. of Woodinville, WA. writes:

“I’m doing great! I can’t believe how relaxed I am when I speak, I’m having a lot more fun. You really changed my life. It seems like it’s getting better all the time. I’ve told a few people to go to you for their weight problems.  Happy 2014!  Thanks!”

Yay!  “You really changed my life.”  To be more accurate, we did it together.  This work is collaborative.  HER brain made the positive changes, and my tools and ingenuity to be creative with those tools sparked that change.  And yes, we put in suggestions to continue the flow of success, like a snowball rolling down the side of a snow-covered hill.  She noticed that as well:  “It’s getting better all the time.”

If you have positive changes in mind for yourself, and your life, we can do that!  Anytime.  Now is good.  Hypnosis works. You can make 2014 your happiest and healthiest year ever. Wouldn’t you also like to be able to say this about your life? “It’s getting better all the time.”

Warm Regards,
Connie

The Power of Hypnosis is the Power of You!

Hi, Hypno-Friends!

I love Facebook.  And I often see photos from my Seattle friends, hypnosis friends and others, shared on my home page which I “like.”  I see beautiful nature pics, cutesy animals, inspirational words, etc.  I noticed one picture today I really like.  It’s words of wisdom from Glinda:

Hypnosis is Your Power.

“You had the power all along, my dear.” Glinda tells Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. YES!

And so do you.

What is hypnosis?  It’s the power of your mind to be creative and solve problems.  What does a hypnotherapist do?  A hypnotherapist does not solve your problems for you.  A hypnotherapist leads you into this cache of power inside YOU and helps you activate that power.  You become resourceful and solve your own “problems.”  Only, you come to realize that they were not problems at all, just choices.  And you find the power to make different and more useful choices.

My favorite teacher is named Dr. Richard Bandler.  He’s the co-originator of NLP, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and as far as I’m concerned, the “King” of hypnosis.  I’m very fond of Dr. Bandler.  After lecture one day in Orlando, I approached him and asked him to autograph one of his books for me.  I have many, many of his books, but my prize is a “first edition” of Frogs Into Princes.  He was kind enough to sign my book.

Dr. Bandler has a very distinctive handwriting and it took me a second or two to decipher his message for me.  “Connie, find your power!”

Right on!  Yes.  And I do.  Everyday.  I copied that page of the book, and cut out those words and they are now residing on my desk at my Bellevue hypnotherapy clinic.  “Find your power.”  I look at them every day, consciously and unconsciously.  “Find your power.”  Yes!  I activate that suggestion.

As Glinda knows, the power is in us.  When you’re ready to activate your power, consider hypnosis–it’s absolutely the doorway in.  Every day I help Seattle area people do just that!

Warm Regards,
Connie

When Disgust is Useful

I bought some chicken yesterday from a local supermarket deli.  Got it home, and opened the packaging.  Found THIS!  Yikes.  Battered and fried feathers.

Something wrong with this chicken wing!
I’m not eating feathers.

How repulsive, obviously they lacked the big picture on plucking the chicken before you cook it.  If you look up the word “grotesque” in the dictionary, this chicken wing could be there.  I didn’t even want to touch this thing, but I had to, to toss it into the garbage can.  I’m not eating THAT!!  Ick, and yick!

In my Neuro-Linguistic Programming work with clients “ick and yick” can be useful.  People come into my office wanting to stop smoking.  People come into my office wanting weight loss, which means, behaviorally,  eating less  to no sweets, pastries, cookies, chocolate, candy of all varieties, brownies, twinkies, donuts, ice cream, sugary sodas, french fries, potato chips and other carb-laden, junky processed foods that pack on the poundage on the body.  I can help with that!  Ick and yick finds a home.

When I was a kid my mom tried to make me eat liver.  It’s a nightmarish recollection.  I hate liver.  As an adult, I would never choose to eat liver, because it’s horrendously repulsive, in looks, taste, smell, in every way invented.   My response to the thought of liver is this:  “get it away from me!  No way in hell is that thing going into my mouth!”  Like that chicken wing yesterday.

With NLP we can take this feeling “get it away from me, ” capture it, and attach it to anything, where it’s useful to do so.  We can attach it to chocolate.  To cigarettes.  To brownies.  To anything.  If you don’t like it, you’re not going to eat it, or smoke it.  This is called “aversion” anchoring.  It’s another piece of the work, and it helps!  On the flip of away from, I create good feelings that people prefer over cravings, things like calm, happy, joy, satisfied, healthy.  Towards something wonderful and away from something disgusting, now we have a propulsion system of change.

I walk the talk, and use the tools for my own success.  I took that chicken wing, and captured the revulsion, and now that’s how I feel about chocolate brownies (my former weakness).  I’m not buying or eating any brownies today.  None.  Not interested.  I’m not eating any brownies tomorrow, either.  Nor the next day.  When will I want brownies?  Possibly never.  And I’m OK with that.

This is called taking control of your life, and it’s a good thing!

Warm Regards,
Connie
